HT1296 What happened after updating itunes to 11.1.4. Its connected but it no longer syncs my iPod Touch.
It won't do anything cause the button that says iPod when connected disappeared after it updated.
Try:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

thatnksNever mind, got it to work. I stumbled around on Google for a while and somehow ended up reading things from the 'jailbroken' community. They had easy instructions to get out of Recovery mode. Thanks anyway though!
P.S. For anyone who experiences this, here is the fix: Hold Power and Home in unison for 6 seconds, then power on as normal. -

You don't. You synch your iPod to your computer. There's no way to synch from iPad to iPod. You can tranfer the same playlists to your iPod from the computer.

What happens after updating to iOS5 re iCloud?
Can anyone detail what life will be like after I upgrade my iPad1 and iPhone4 to iOS5 since I've been syncing them via MM? My is still on 10.6.8. I was waiting for 10.7.2 before converting to Lion.
I'm wondering how things will work. When you upgrage to iOS5, do your devices no longer sync to MM automatically? Or do you need to register for an iCloud account?
Is there documentation on all this somewhere? I'm happy to RTFM, if someone can point me to a URL.

I'd just got the iPhone 5 and my location settings were all greyed out. I read above about resetting all settings and was dubious as I'm out and about, but I just did it and it took less than a minute and now my settings are all working fine. I've had to re-enter some settings, and tones was tricky as I'd set up different ones for everything that I the had to remember and re-enter, but on the whole this has worked fine. Now I just have to work out what else has been reset and correct it as I go along, but that shouldn't be too hard. -
After updating itunes non of my iphone 3 or 3g or Itouch will sync.
When ever I try to sync my 3g and 3gs iphone and my itouch, I get the error that my device times out.
This started happening after I updated my Itunes to 10
I have rebooted computer and phones
changed cords
reinstalled itunes, (it will not let me go to an earlier version, says the library cannot be accessed)
ran diagnostics
Try to restore phone or itouch and get the error that my device times out then too
What else can I do?

ITunes updated and no longer syncs with iPod Touch 4th gen
On January 26, 2014, I updated my iTunes software. After doing so, my iPod Touch 4th gen no longer syncs with or is recognized by iTunes. Reinstalling iTunes has not worked. I suspect that this is a problem created by the iTunes update.

If it matters, I'm using a PC that's still running Windows XP, but this isn't my first rodeo, and I know both how to use the software and what applications are and aren't compatible with my computer.
I searched the web for answers, most of which amounted to a shrug and a "Meh." I called Apple support, who took a couple days to look into it, then had a supervisor call me back. Don't you feel cheated and conned by this product. I am 50 years old and from what you write I can see you know a lot more about your computer than I do about mine. Additionally I live in southern Africa (in fact I live in one and work in another, neither of which appear on the drop down list when you start looking at asking Apple directly for help) and feel they shouldn't allow people to sell their products here (I bought it in a shop that sells i-Macs etc. - not off a guy on a street corner!)if they can't offer support.
I have just been going from error code to another, losing my music that took me hours and hours to install and catalogue/modify in the library etc. and now I've had enough of it.
Essentially it seems to me we have bought faulty products, and made Apple richer than Microsoft in the process.
I'm turningmy back on this bloody iPod Touch, giving it to my son to see if he has the ability and interest to get it working, and if he hasn't I'm just goinbg to have to sell it to a sucker who also wants to buy into the dream, until he wakes up to the reality of shoddy product. hours in front of a computer screen, a fortune in downloads (here I only have about 5 to 10 kb per second download speed), trawling the internet looking for people than have also suffered at the hands of an obviously fatally-flawed system.where every time Apple just recommends to install the latest version of iTunes.
I for one would rather have my money and my wasted time back............
I know I didn't help, but really I don't have any axe to grind against Apple, it's just that the hype in no way lives up to the reality. Look at all the people begging for anwers to their problems on this web-site! I know the shop in Mozambique won't give me my money back, but Apple should, and if Ford sold cars as reliable as these iPods, they'd be banned from selling them........
Or am I just too old to realie how exciting it is internettingf all over th eplace to try to fix what is actually an inferior Walkman........

All i get is the installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. this may indicate a problem with this package. the error code is 2324 .. I can not even uninstall itunes and start all over again.. i get the same error code. the desktop icon has disapeared and i am at a complete loss...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Do you get the screen that says, "iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes", or do you get that screen when you reach the maximum number attempts on the restrictions password?
Thank you. I am out of town traveling and my daughter sent me a picture saying the got the before mentioned message. She told me she forgot her lock screen password, and that just boggled my mind considering she locks and unlocks that thing 1000 times daily. I automatically assumed she was trying to guess the password I put on the restrictions page.

Sounds like the internet connection or wifi on the phone is not working correctly. I found this article for you to help troubleshoot the issue. These 2 sections in particular:
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.

If you're using a public or commercial network, you may need to log in or subscribe.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
After updating ITunes, it, ITunes started loosing my music files and stopped playing more than one song at a time also there would be duplicate songs in the same folders.What now?

- Try moving the backup file to a safe location so iTunes has to create an entire new one.. It is locate here and you may have to have show hiddn files turned on.
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

After updating iTunes to 11.0.1.12 and updating Apple TV to 5.1.1 my Apple TV is no longer picking up my photo library. It just keeps saying "loading library" but never brings the pictures up. It also tells me that home sharing isn't on even though it is and then I have to turn it off and on on the PC so the Apple TV even recognizes the photo library. These issues didn't happen with previous versions. Any ideas?
Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'.
