HT1311 Apple ID being used by 3 iphones with challenges. Need advice.

We have 3 iphones in the family and we all use the same Apple ID. We're now getting cross texts and such, should we each set up a separate User ID? Will that mess up Itunes if we all use 1 computer to sync to? Thanks

Thanks, so, I can change the Applie ID for Icloud, iMessage and Facetime but keep the same one for the App Store, is that correct?

If underage and not i)S on all devices then you have to create an ID for here under your name and supervise it use:
Create a NEW account using these instructions so yo do not have to use a credit card.
Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

the only way that anyone would be able to see anything at all on your phone is if they knew your apple id password, or they were looking over your shoulder
if you are concerned that someone may know your apple id password, please change it at appleid.apple.com

No. No. And No.
You can 'ping' your phone and have it play a sound (even if it's muted) from the watch, but it must be in range... That's intended to help you locate it if it's nearby but you forgot where you put it, or it slipped behind a couch cushion or something.

This would be a useful feature for personal and company numbers but using one mobile, rather than carrying two devices or diverting calls.

Then go ahead and try it. You'll find it's probably a load of crap.
You want 2 numbers, then use Google Voice or TalkaTone
Those are US based only Apps or numbers so no good. I won't be wasting money by just trying something either, especially because using a dual sim would mean purchasing another sim card on either pay as you go or monthly contact.

Why is my old apple id being used when I try to update on app store?

My original apple id was an old email account which I didn't often use and because of my lack of usage the email address expired without me knowing, so I changed my apple id and password etc in "manage my account" and when purchasing new app's all is fine, I'm able to purchase and log in using my new email addy, however when I'm prompted I have updates waiting and I press update, my old apple id (email addy) is brought up which I can no longer access as the email verification is going to the old email addy which no longer exsists!
My Iphone and Ipad all show apple id as new email etc the problem only arises when I try updating.
Please help this is driving me insane and my updates are stuck!

When you say you "changed my apple id", does that mean you renamed it to your new email address?

That is what you want to do so you still only have one Apple ID and it now has the new name and email.
It sounds like you may have created a new Apple ID instead and started purchasing stuff with that. Just because an old email address expires, doesn't mean the Apple ID it is based on goes away. Apple IDs can't be deleted. The only way for them to change is to rename them to a new "ID" (name/email).
It is best to stay with only one Apple ID for purchases. As you are seeing, Apps need to be updated with the ID they were purchased with. If you don't have many purchases with your new Apple ID, you might want to rename it to something else so you can rename your old ID to this new name (email). Then stick with your old, but renamed ID.
You don't remember the password for your old Apple ID? Can you access your old Apple ID using the security questions instead of the email verification?

My Macbook can't seem to find my wireless router even though it is in use by my iphone and ipad. I have tried to use diagnostics and it tells me that the router is not switched on, but it is on.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help I and the problem persists I would have a technician take a look at your iPad. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I have an Apple ID that uses a gmail address, which i used to create an iCloud email account. However, I cannot seem to replace my gmail Apple ID with the iCloud address. Is it possible to separate the iCloud email from the gmail address, and make it my only Apple ID i.e. can i scrap the gmail ID and only use my iCloud username as my ID?

I'm afraid you can't do this. You can change the ID to another non-Apple address, but you can't make your @icloud.com address the ID.
