I recently thought I was updating my Safari browser. When completed, I put all those little files that were on the desktop into the trash. Now my trash is saying it can't be emptied because there are locked files and I don't know how to unlock them or get them out of my trash and they keep multiplying. oh boy ! I'd ask you if you knew what kind of files they were or where they came from, but I don't think you could help me a bunch. Try going to the Utilities folder and running Disk Utilities. If you want to empty the Trash and it won't empty, go to the finder and choose "secure Empty trash". Worse case scenario-you may have to reinstall Snow Leopard, but I don't know what else to suggest. If you have a DVD of Snow Leopard, boot up from that, and reinstall the OS. This will not touch the stuff you have on your Hard Drive, then you can update from 10.6 to 10.6.8, otherwise Onyx? Maybe those files are part of the OS which needs them to keep running. if you hold down the Shift key on reboot, you can reboot in Safe mode and maybe you can take the files out of the trash that way

If you're talking about a passcode lock then you'll have to restore the device with a computer with itunes. If you can use a computer that you've been syncing with then you'll be able to retain the current content on the ipad. If you haven't been syncing with a computer, or you otherwise don't have access to that computer, then you'll still be able to restore but you'll lose whatever is on the device.

Hard to write is limited space. But tech support has two phones...and iPhone 5c and 5S, left by a former employee. Both are still tied to his itunes at email r********@yahoo.com. They don't the who the employee is. When they try to restore them to defaults, itunes tells them that the phone is linked to an itunes account. How can we get the phones wipes so that the company can reassign them. Assigning at least one of them to me?!!! (Coulld fit into 5c or 5s since there is one of each)
There are two levels of locking:
1. A 4-digit passcode that is entered to access the iPhone. This can be removed by connecting to a computer running iTunes by way of the recovery mode as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 this simply erases the content and settings so it is accessible.
2. Find My Phone has been turned on in Settings > iCloud using the owners Apple ID and password. This sets the Activation Lock and cannot be bypassed. the owner's Apple ID and password must be entered to release the lock, or, the owner must login to his/her iCloud account, go to Find My Phone, and remove the iPhone from the devices list. After that is done the iPhone can be erased and restored.
Your situation sounds like number 2...the previous employee has installed an Apple ID and password and set the Activation Lock. Your IT folks will not be able to bypass that. At his point, the best hope is to take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar with company proof of ownership, and see if they can help you. -

You've stumbled into one of the trickiest things about BBs. For security, you can assign a device lock password that, if your BB is lost or stolen, will take care of wiping the BB clean once someone fails to enter the password correctly too many times.
From what you say, it sounds like perhaps this person who had your BB changed your password...which is a problem for you. You see, only the correct password can unlock your BB. Nothing else can. It is completely possible that you have no choice but to fail the maximum number of attempts, at which point your BB will wipe out all of your data and return to "new" condition. Then you can start over.

Having followed the instructions for "if you have never synced your device to itunes" and my computer displayed the message that the device has been restored, my phone is still saying its disabled and I should connect to itunes. What do I do now??
Put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

That's not how unlocking an iPhone works.
The carrier the phone is locked to submits a request to Apple, wh updates their database. When that is complete, you restore the phone with iTunes to process the unlock. -

There is no "unlock code". If you legitimately unlocked your iPhone via ATT, you will get an email detaling the unlock process, which involves connecting to iTunes. Follow the directions in the email.
If you used one of those web sites that promise an magical "unlock code" you probably got scammed.
