Resolution
Restore iPod from Disk Mode
Disconnect iPod from your computer.
Manually put iPod into Disk Mode.
Open the latest version of iTunes and connect iPod.
Restore iPod.
Setup Service for iPod
If you cannot force your iPod into disk mode and restore it, then your iPod may need service. Click one of the links below to setup an iPod Service Request online or make a reservation at the Genius Bar before visiting your local Apple Retail Store.

Dear jester,
Apple created iTunes to try and stop piracy, and if you look at the lime wire site, it says they were shut down for piracy.
You will have you buy all the music through iTunes or you can download music to iTunes from a CD.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are looking to Email a scanned photo, but do not want the file to be to large. Are you using HP software when you get the error "not connected to the internet" ? If so, What is the Operating System installed, Windows, including version, e.g. Windows 7 or Mac, including version, e.g. 10.8?
Lowering the DPI or resolution will help keep the file size down, if you have an option for that in the software.
Also, what is the Email client are you using, MSN, Gmail, etc?

IPod touch top front of my screen says, "it Safe Mode". What does that mean?

Front of my screen says, "it Safe Mode". Now when I try to change my theme in Winterboard and respring it wont change anything. What do I do?!?!

Touch where it says "It Safe Mode". A Window should appear informing you about the Safe Mode. At the bottom, hit "Reboot" and wait.now your iPod will funtion as normal again.
If not, then go to Cydia and delete anything you just installed, as it may be the cause of the Safe Mode. Then try rebooting again the iPod.

It means the rotation of the screen is locked in portrait mode.
To fix it, double tap the home button. Then slide your finger to the right. Tap on the left icon that has an icon that looks like the one you described above.

Excellent.   I knew someone would know.   But a small addition in the form of general information.
Not everyone has a priority option set next to the signature. You need to know that the option exists and that's found by clicking on the innocent looking envelope icon (which tells you nothing) at the bottom left of the header section.   Then, the drop down menu > Priority field > reveals an options panel next to signature.
But of course, that's for use when you are the sender.   For the recipient your answer is dead right.

Do you have anything connected to the dock connector of the iPod like a dock or cable?
Try:

Try a soft-reset and see if it works after your phone has restarted (it seems ot have fixed the error for a number of people on here) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

Refer to my earlier reply, but here is a quick fix to the corrupted filesystem, which might work
Open My Computer
Right-click your iPod -> click Properties.
Click the Tools Tab -> Error Checking ->
Check "Automatically fix file system error"
k Start.
Let the scan complete, eject your iPod and reconnect.

it means that the service that suporting your device on the computer is not started
to restart it go in windows task manager by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ESC (ECHAP in french keyboard)
or right clic on task bare and start windows task manager
go on tab ''service'' find apple mobile device, right clic on it and start this service
now you device should be able to connect to itunes
