Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Thanks for this post. It corrected my similar issue. Note that you need to exit from/re-enter iTunes after deleting the song from your Purchased list.

Im having a similar promblem! Only its doesnt work on my Itunes library and the song ends at 49 seconds. Have you fixed your problem yet?

ITunes only playing one second of audio

Yesterday, my iTunes was working fine, but this morning for some reason it only plays one second (if that) of any song/file in my playlist if the iTunes window is up. When I minimize iTunes, the file plays perfectly, but when the window is up, I'm just getting it jumping around through my files.
When I press pause, iTunes doesn't pause, it just continues skipping through my files until I close the program and reopen it.
I have the latest iTunes version (8.0.2), but I can't see where that would be the problem, because I didn't install it last night.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. . .

I discovered last night that when I set up my speakers using a headphone 4 output monitor amp that the outputs weren't going stereo panned left/right. Not iTunes fault, mine.

TS1368 itunes store makes music suggestions to me but it only plays 9 seconds of the song. my itunes is updated to current version. Dont know how to fix it. guess i wont be purchasing any more music suggestions.

I recently purchased an album on itunes it took a long time to download and after I tried to play it half of the songs only played for a couple minutes and then would end. How do I reload my purchase ?

Itunes purchases only play for 30 secs

I have purchased songs. When I go to play them they only play for 30 seconds. I went to 'Store' to download them but they downloaded the 30 seconds. I purchased the song again and it still gave me on 30 seconds of the song. Please help!

In windows goto control panel>add and remove and uninstall BOTH iTUnes and quicktime. THen go here and roll down to "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
There are some adware programs that interfere with iTUnes, especailly the Qoologic adware that seems so ramped on the net. Scan the system with your adware/spyware program or Ewido (Its good at catching qoologic) http://www.ewido.com
IF you have restored the PC, you need to goto the PC makers site and see if they have any patches/updates for issues with itunes. Some PCs, especailly HP and Dell PCs have issues with itunes after a restore is done. While there its best to just install all updates they offer that apply for your model.
Now disable any Antivirus/security programs and goto apple.com download AND SAVE itunes to the PC. Once done goto the location you saved it and double click it to install.
If after this, itunes still will not open, disable your antivirus again and go here to download and install "Quicktime WITHOUT iTUnes". This is the stand alone version of quicktime and usually fixes an itunes not opening.

Try deleting the song from iTunes (allow iTunes to move the track file to the trash) and then re-downloading it via this procedure:

Delete the current copy, close iTunes, reopen, then redownload from your purchase history - iTunes Store > Purchased - or use the cloud download link from the music section of your library.
