i bought a new ipod which has 667 songs on it, however the itunes library only has 305 songs. How do I move the songs from the old Ipod to the new ipod?

It's not "new" if it already has music on it. Whoever bought the music is not entitled to sell it.

That is correct. The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

My windows laptop crashed two months ago and I lost everything on it. I was able to get the hard drive replaced but all of my music is on my ipod (nano - 2nd edition, I think). Only a small percentage is purchased via itunes.
I have been googling how to now move my music from my ipod to my new hard drive but most solutions assume that I still have the old laptop/hard drive. I know I was able to do this previously when the hard drive crashed, but I can't seem to remember now as it was about 5 years ago. I'm afraid to do anything just now as I don't want it syncing to an empty library and have my ipod wiped clean.
Is there any way of moving the music from my ipod to my itunes library on the new hard drive?? Please help as I don't want to have to reload over 100 cd's
