  • Laptop died need to move Serial Number

I have my install CD and want to install Adobe on a new machine.  But my laptop died before I could remove the Serial Number.  How do I free up the Serial Number for installation on a new machine?

I used to be able to find things, but they have screwed up the web site so much I really don't know where to direct folks anymore. Everything seems to still be there, but they keep moving things around (much like what they do with the tools in Acrobat). There should be an 800 number to call for support. I have heard that they can help on the chat system too. The chat is probably easier.

  • Is it at all possible to move ipod music from a mac to a pc?

...without a CD burner on the mac?
    Here's the problem...
My son wants to burn a CD of some of his ipod music. We had originally intalled the ipod on a mac. However, the mac disk is full, and we haven't been able to install an external cd burner.
We have several pcs with cd burners, so I thought I could move the music over to the pc using the ipod. It did create a "shared" library, but you can't do anything with that but listen to it. I reformatted the ipod to pc format, but can't put the music back on the ipod.
I should be able to reformat the ipod back to mac, then reload the songs on there, but unless I can free up enough space to load the cd burner software, I'm kind of out of luck?

Windows can't read the HFS+ file system that a Mac uses.
If you need to use a Mac (HFS+) formatted iPod on a Windows PC, you'll need to install some 3rd party software such as XPlay 2.0 (which you can get from MediaFour Software). This will enable your Windows PC to read a Mac-formatted iPod.

  • How can i download music from my computer to my ipod nano without erasing music already there?

how can i download music from my computer to my ipod nano without erasing music already there?

If the music you are wanting to have on your iphone was purchased through itunes you can then go to your front display to settings>itunes and app store from there you have a toggled switch that allows you to automatically download music and apps by toggling the switch. You will need to toggle the switch below these switchs that allows for cellular data to be enabled if this has not already been enabled. This then will automatically download music and apps directly to your device with no additional charge to you.
    Good luck.

  • How can I manage my music without erasing all of my songs?

For reference I've had iPods since about 2005 and I've been through this many times. My harddrive in my computer recently crashed and I had to replace it. Now all of my songs are gone (other than the ones I got on iTunes obviously). About half of my music (near 500 songs) are off of old CD's that I have since thrown away since I figured I had them saved on my iPhone and my laptop. Reference again: I had this happen when I had an iPod touch also with another computer. With my iPod touch, I was free to manage my music manually without erasing all my songs that were on my iPod. Now why can't I seem to do this now with my iPhone. Please help! I can't loose 500 songs! That's $500 that I DON'T HAVE to spend on music that I've already bought! P.S. I just need to know how to manually manage my music without erasing all my music!

is this the one you're looking for?

  • I want to add new songs to my ipod.  When I set it up with itunes years ago I had a different computer that I no longer have.  Now it will not let me add new songs to my ipod shuffle without erasing everything that is already on it.  Help!!!

I want to add new songs to my ipod.  When I set it up with itunes years ago I had a different computer that I no longer have.  Now it will not let me add new songs to my ipod shuffle without erasing everything that is already on it.  Help!!!  Is there any way around this?

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me.  Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

  • ITunes won't work on my old laptop so I need to move my music to a new laptop but can only use the music stored on my ipad to transfer it. Please help.

My laptops broken, I can't open itunes at all on it so how can I get my music onto my new laptop with only my ipad which has all my music on it?

    Hello kevinfromripon
There are a few options that you can do. If your old computer sill works but iTunes just does not open, you can try and copy the iTunes folder to an external hard drive and then add that information on to your new computer by either putting it into the same place as it was on the old computer or just adding the media into iTunes. If the media was purchased from the iTunes Store, you can import those in by following the step in the last article or you can go to the iTunes Store and look at your purchases and download them directly from there.

  • Laptop died, need itunes help....

my laptop died on me, and i dont think ill be able to fix it anytime soon. i am going to use my wifes computer to run itunes and sync my iphone. her computer alredy has itunes on it because she recently owned an iphone as well. what will i need to do in order to make her itunes, my new itunes? i have all my music and pictures and everything on an external hard drive, so i have that covered. but what will need to be done in order to make it my account, and not hers? and to be able to create a new backup from my phone?
    thanks!

Create a new account on the laptop then transfer the files on the external hardrive to it, then just load them on it iTunes and sync. Pretty simple really shame I didn't have an external hard rive before mine died on me.

  • IPod music library erased when synching movies

I tried putting some movies (short clips from my digital camera) that are stored in my iTunes library onto my iPod. I followed the steps to sync movies and hit "apply". For some reason all that happened is my entire iPod music library began erasing. The movies never transfered to the iPod and my photos are still on my iPod. I reloaded the music from my iTunes library and tried syncing the movies again and the same thing happend. What is going on? And, is there anyway to retrieve my original iPod music library. I had about 1800 songs on the iPod and only have about 1200 in iTunes.

I reloaded the music from my iTunes library and tried syncing the movies again and the same thing happend.
This should all be done in one sync.
Are you syncing the music then turning off sync music to sync the movies?
is there anyway to retrieve my original iPod music library. I had about 1800 songs on the iPod and only have about 1200 in iTunes.
No. They should all be in iTunes. If not, you can restore them from your backup.

  • Why can't I sync my music without erasing my entire current iphone library???? Newly purchased MP3s don't transfer from my (authorized) laptop itunes.

My desktop no longer works where previous MP3s and CDs were downloaded. I currently use my laptop now and cannot get recently purchased MP3s to sync on my iphone 4 without erasing my current iphone library and replacing it with what is on my laptop. I've searched and experimented with every possibility (it seems) without taking the "big step" of syncing my entire library. My current iphone library has 990+ songs and my laptop itunes library only has 381. I don't want to lose what I've got already. Anybody????

There are third-party programs like those discussed here that can transfer non-iTunes purchased music to a computer.

iPodTouch 5th generation IOS 8.1.3 (brand new!!)

Symptoms include the ! mark at the side of all the IPOD contents shown in iTunes, whole library is shown but nothing present on IPOD
As well some albums artwork do not appear in IPOD but they do in iTunes..

  • How do I restore my ipod setting without erasing music on my ipod?

I lost  some music on my  ipod while it was connected to my itunes (after pressing something). I lost music files that were previously added from cds and from another computer. I had also lost my playlist. And lastly, when I my ipod is connected to my itunes, I am missing features that I used to have, such as being able to create a playlist directly onto my ipod (I no longer have "+" icon that allows me to add a playlist to my ipod), playing music on my ipod through itunes...and basically just manipulating music on my ipod via itunes in anyway. The list of music on my ipod is grayed out on itunes so I cannot do much of anything except add files from my itunes library to it.
Thus is there any way I can restore my settings on my ipod when connected to itunes, without erasing the current music files on my ipod?
This is very frustrating because I really just want to recover the  music and playlists I lost from my ipod, and I want to be able to have the settings restored when my ipod is connected to itunes. Senuti for windows cost money to restore music and I am not sure it will completly fix my issue anyways.
    Can anyone help?

Connect the iPod to the computer and restore via iTunes. If necessary, place the iPod in Recovery Mode to allow the restore.
