HT1335 iPod_classic not recognized by my iTunes app

ipod_classic was working before I updated the software through iTunes.  Now it says my iPod is corrupted and I have reset it and iTunes still won't recognized my iPod

I'm in the exact same boat. Well, similar. It worked perfectly before the iTunes update, and now, it won't even recognise at all. The Windows pop-up saying "device successfully installed" comes up, but iTunes won't pick it up at all, corrupted or anything...

  • Ipod not recognized by windows, itunes, and will not charge with pc.

yesterday, when i went to sync some new music onto my 1gen nano, it did not work (duh). i plugged it in 3 times:
-1st, it displayed the "do not connect screen" for one second, and itunes flashed the screen it shows when your ipod is connected, but then the ipod disconnected itself after that one second.
-2nd, windows gave me a message saying the hardware could not be recognized.
-3rd, nothing at all happened, as has been happening each time i try to plug it in since then.
i've done the 5 R's .. and i've tried all the suggestions shown on posts that sound like mine, including these: Windows XP cannot detect an iPod.
USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date.
iTunes 7 doesn't recognize the iPod.
my ipod will charge when plugged into a wall charger, and it plays normally. also, my brother's ipod (2nd gen nano) is recognized by windows/itunes.

    Hello
I have been having nearly the same problem as Crashcup for the past month. Differences being I am operating with Windows Vista and my iPod is a 160GB Classic. I have gone through all the steps in the troubleshooting documents to no result. I attach my iPod and it is not recognized by Windows, iTunes or even in Device Manager. Not even as an "Unknown Device".
I know there is nothing wrong with the USB ports as two different external hard drives and a video game controller work perfectly fine through them. Same goes with the iPod itself; it continues to play and function normally, and is recognized by a charging device completely separate from my laptop. Just when attached to the computer there is no sign of it.
I am very frustrated that there is no further instruction with regard to what to do with an iPod Classic (as referred to by Crashcup: "...it says to take a photo with an iPhone, or a screenshot with an iPod touch or iPad. WHAT ABOUT THE IPOD CLASSIC????)
Any help would be much appreciated.l=

  • IPod not recognized by Windows / iTunes

    Hello,
I hope someone here can help. So far my first experience with Apple support has NOT been a positive impression.
I searched for info on this problem, but the other ones I see all seem to be related to freezing or battery issues.
iPod Classic 120GB, I don't sync very often, and just finished doing a bunch of cleanup in iTunes (album artwork, song info, etc.) and want to re-sync the pod.
When I connect to the PC with the USB cable, Windows doesn't seem to recognize the device, and it doesn't show up in iTunes.
It is charging through USB, however. The battery is fully charged.
I tried 3 different USB ports on the PC.
    Tried restarting iTunes.
    Tried restarting the computer.
Went to Apple support website, tried the troubleshooting assistant:
    Reset the pod.
*Had already tried different USB ports.
*Had already trired restarting the PC (Although it mentions checking for the latest software updates - I didn't do this. WHAT software updates should I look for? Device drivers? OS updates? WHAT???)
    Re-installed iTunes. (Was already at v 9.2.1.4)
*Did not try the restore. Reading the instructions, it appears that the iPod has to be connected to do this, and that's the problem -won't connect!
Also read something about disk mode. I set the iPod to disk mode, but it's not recognized that way, either. When connected by USB in this mode, the iPod screen still says "OK to disconnect".
I tried the link "iPhone, iPad, or iPod is not recognized by Windows".
I do not see the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" anywhere in Device Manager. I suppose this is the problem.
However, continuing with the instructions, it says to take a photo with an iPhone, or a screenshot with an iPod touch or iPad. WHAT ABOUT THE IPOD CLASSIC?????
(These instructions also say to disconnect the device, but nowhere says when to connect it. Why do they put half-baked troubleshooting instructions on their web site???)
Is there anyone from Apple support on this list who can help? I believe the driver needs to be reinstalled somehow, but it didn'thappen when i re-installed iTunes, so how do I do this?
    Thanks
    Keith

my ipod is not recognized by my itunes and tells me to uninstall itunes and reinstall it.  will this erase all of my music?

    Hi braddyloopy,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes,  your music files should not be erased or affected in any way. It is always a good idea to back up your data before making any changes to your computer, though.
If you'd like to locate your music, this article explains how to find the files:
Where are my iTunes files located?

When you reinstall iTunes, I'd recommend using the method in this article to make sure it's reinstalled completely:

my new ipod nano is not recognized by my itunes and I have tried the trouble shooting tips

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62 and Windows 8.1.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

  • TS1410 My ipod nano 2nd generation is not recognized anymore by iTunes 11.1.5 whereas it was recognized by previous version of itunes

    Hi,
I encounter a problem with my ipod nano (2 nd generation) because it not recognized anymore by itunes. When I say not recognized I mean that the ipod does not appear in the devices field of itunes. I do not know exactly when this problem appeared : i do not synchronize often my ipod but before with my macbook pro the synchronisation worked. iTunes sees others devices such as my iphone 5 and iPhone 4 with respectively iOS 7 and iOS 6.0.1. My macbook pro is updated with Maverick  10.9.2 and itunes is the 11.5.5 version. My MacBook pro is from 2009. With previous version of iTunes I know that my ipod could be synchronized.
I did not find any solution on the Apple Support, so I decided to send this post. If someone already encountered this problem and found th solution it would be very helpful ....

  • My iPod touch will not connect to the itunes app!

Hi, my ipod touch(4th generation) will not connect to the itunes app, app store, or the internet. It is connected to my wifi and shows full bars with connectivity. However when I click on the itunes app it takes to a blank white screen and says it is loading. It stays on that screen for about 5 minutes and then a little blue box pops up and says unable to connect to itunes store. I don't understand this because I also have an Ipad 2 connected to the same wifi and that has no problem connecting to the itunes store or internet. So I don't understand why my iPad can get on itunes while my iPod can't, when they are on the same wifi connection. Can anyone please help me!!!

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up

If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I downloaded 3D human body app for my iPad this did not go to my iTunes app folder it went to the app folder on my imax now i cannot get it to download to my iPad help

I downloaded 3d human body organs app for my ipad. This did not go to my itunes app folder, instead it went to my app folder on my mac. How can i transfer this to my ipad. Have tried a lot things but nothing works. thanks

    Is this the culprit?
If so, it is definitely a Mac version. I could not find a similar program on the App Store for iOS devices. There is a Body Organs 4 Kids App, but it doesnt appear to have the same type of detail.

  • ITunes not recognizing my iPhone Remote app

I've been trying to get this remote app to work with no luck. I tunes doesnt recognize that I have the remote app I guess so its not showing up in iTunes which means there is no place to enter the code to pair my iPhone with iTunes. I have gone through all he troubleshooting stuff. I have the latest iTunes, computere and iphone are on the same network, the firewall is disabled, i tried deleting and reinstalling, shutting down and restarting, All of that and I still don't know what's wrong. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I am having this same issue. I can never get the phone to show up in iTunes. It did work previously and I'm not certain exactly when it stopped working but I only noticed it after getting a replacement phone and reinstalling everything and now it doesn't work. I thought it was maybe a problem with the Device Identifier code but that checked out ok. It's extremely frustrating! I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and that didn't help any. I made sure it is checking for Remotes also - actually told it to forget all remotes and then turned it off and restarted iTunes and then turned it back on.

  • IPod Touch 2G is not recognized anywhere, except iTunes

Yesterday night, i was installing objectdock and windowblinds and icon packager. after i was satisfied, i decided to enjoy some music in my iTunes library. I picked a song, but to my surprise it had a ( ! ) symbol next to it. (yknow, the one indicating that iTunes couldn't locate the song, it's not in its directory etc etc etc.)
Okay, so I system restored figuring it'd be worth a shot. I restored it to a point before I installed the objectdock etc, and my computer wasn't giving in. half my songs were erased, i looked at the My Music folder, looked under iTunes, and then looked in its subfolders, which were the names of the albums and artists. The actual songs files were gone too.
Well, then I figured I could probably extract all my data (even my movies and crap were erased) from my iPod Touch 2G. I plugged it into my computer, via USB, and even as I tried various ports, the only place it showed up was iTunes. and we all know iTunes is dead to me right now.
I downloaded a few third-party applications like CopyTrans, etc, and oddly, the iPod didn't show up either. It shows up in My Computer, but that's just because there are saved screenshots on my ipod, so it treats it as if it were a camera.
Anyway, now google failed me, and nobody is really helpful. My iPod is fully charged, I've restarted it a couple times, (I even restarted my computer a couple times, and being that it is archaic, it's really slow. 6 years to date. oh god.) and I've restored the settings on my iPod. I am not restoring the data at all, because that's the last place it exists, and I'd be shooting myself in the foot if i did that. I have iTunes 8, don't worry.
So now I technically have two problems. Why isn't my iPod getting recognized (and no, this probably isn't your typical problem, so no apple support links please), and why did iTunes erase half my songs/videos. fortunately, my apps are safe.
    *Also now, recently:*
the only response from the iPod is it charging, the little indicator on the top right, it has a little charged symbol. it's already fully charged, but it still won't become recognized. and suddenly, itunes stopped recognizing it as well.
Please post some suggestions as to what I should/can/need to do.
