HT1338 An error occurred while installing updates.103
Trying to install software updates and I have received this message several times. Also can't install Adobe Flash update - a "general error" occurs. Suggestions?
Test after each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If you're trying to install more than one update at the same time, do the installations one at a time.
Step 2
Triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Updates
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Move the contents to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password.

error occurred while installing updates. If problem persits, choose tools, download only and try installing manually
Are you able to update if you use an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installler file downloaded from the Apple website?
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ -
Have a first gen iPad with 4.3 IOS. Can't download version 5.1 because iTunes 11.1 need to be downloaded. Cannot download version of iTunes. " errors occured while installing updates. if the problem persists choose tools>download only and try installing manually". This is as far as I can get. Can't find tools to manually download. When I try to reset to factory settings, I get an error also.
Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

I cannot update my iTunes with"error occurred while installing updates"
Ever since I updated my Windows Vista Laptop to Service Pack 2, iTunes has not been able to update with the a popup with "error occurred while installing updates. If the problems persist choose Tools > Download Only". And i DID have to Reinstall iTunes from scratch, so please help me. I really want to get rid of this problem thats been bothering me for 2 years
ThanksI've got it to work. If that's the same error you received, then I have to assume you're using Windows 64-bit (as all the people I found with the same problem do). This was what worked for me, courtesy of Shiggity from sevenforums.com -
Go to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu", right-click "Programs" and select "Properties".
On the Security Tab, Click "Advanced".
Go to the Owner tab, and Click "Edit".
Change the owner to yourself, Check "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects", and Click OK.
And then re-run the installation. Hope that works! -
hi Guys
Im trying to make the update on my IMAC and i always get an error saying: an error occurred while installing the updates ( 103 )
Thanks and hope some one can help me
CheersIt would be helpful to know to what update you are referring. For now try this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Download and install OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 (Combo). -

Error occured while installing updates for itunes 10.6.1
I have been having issues lately trying to install my updates to iTunes. I keep getting an error message that says "Error occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually." This happened on the last update as well, and the install manually didn't work. I eventually had to uninstall iTunes and reinstall the latest version. But, if I keep doing this, I have to re-add all of my music folders, and recreate all of my playlists for every single update that comes out. That means like once a week. Does anyone know why I keep getting this message?
I have submitted a screenshot if that helps.
Also, I am running windows 7 on my computer. Thank youHmmm. I was wondering if it was an issue with a broken setupadmin.exe mucking up the works (because it's a tiny little file). But it's apparently the itunes64.msi causing us grief.
Plausibly, we might be looking at a disk/file damage thing that is preventing the msis and so forth from saving correctly. If so, running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C:\ Drive might help.
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -
Errors occurred while installing update
Has anyone had this error while installing update to itunes?
The suggestion is to:
click tools>download only> and try installing manually
Thanks
fabiofromwatertownI don't if you run Kaspersky or not, but thats what my problem was. I just simply turned off Kaspersky and it downloaded and updated with no problems. Hope this helps!

attempted to install newest version of itunes and now get 'runtime error' program: c:\program files (x86) r6034
Hey Debbiered1,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
Take care,

Error occurred while installing update itunes
Im trying to update itunes version 11.1.5.5 to latest version 11.2.2 geting error find acreenshot for error message. also tried installing manually error you have later version installed.
http://s23.postimg.org/dm3o4tcpn/screenshot_4.pngFor general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

about a month ago i tried updating 10.6 but it wouldnt work, so i then uninstalled itunes and ever since then i havent been able to reinstall it. i read somewhere online that i need to "check my disc" on my computer. i did that about 10 minutes ago and i still am having troubled. i really need help!
This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
