HT1338 Does Apple have a virus scan for recent malware?

I am concerned that Adobe Updates are showing up on my dock bar at the bottom of my screen and I do not know how to ensure I am not being infected.

If they are coming from the dock, it is most likely that it is the
real Adobe updater.  The malware only presents itself when
visiting a malicious website.
You can verify this by opening the Flash Player panel in
Preferences or checking the Adobe Updater which is usually found
in Applications->Utilities->Adobe Utilities.
Also, install the latest Java update for your computer which
now also contains a malware removal tool.

They will give you 10% off a new one as reward for recycling your old one, but no direct up-trade.

does apple sell a car charger or car charger with mount for the Iphone 5?

Interesting, I have learned that many folks have never heard of a "Cigarette Lighter", it is something like a 12 Volt accessory port.  In any case, I purchased a Belkin 2.1 amp single USB port charger and just tried it with my standard USB to Lightning IPhone 5 cable and it worked great.

  • HT201104 What apps support icloud drive? Also does apple have a preview application for iOS that is similar to what is found on the Mac?

I am having difficulties locating and viewing files that I download onto my macbook pro or iOS device and having that document be viewable across all my devices. Android has a seamless integration with google drive and google doc suite apps. I am looking for that same integration.

To the best of my knowledge, Apple does have a lemon policy, but I don't know that it is explicitly stated anywhere. I have heard of people being able to get their computer replaced after a series of major repairs.
Since you are a long ways from an Apple Store, it would probably be best to call Apple and ask to speak to Apple Customer Relations. They are a special tier at Apple whose mission is to solve problems that have not been solved at a lower level and to try to make Apple customers happy. They are also able to authorize a replacement machine.
Get together all of your repair records and case numbers if you have them and call and make your case. Be very polite and nice, but let them know how disappointed you are both with your machine and with the service you have received so far which has still not fixed everything. Do mention the many hours of your time that have been wasted in trying to get your Mac fixed satisfactorily.
In the future, it may be better to send your Mac off to an official Apple repair depot instead of trying to get it fixed at an Apple Store. My niece did that, and had very fast turnaround, sending hers off Tuesday at 6:00 PM and getting it back before noon on Thursday. To do that, you call Apple, and they will send you a special shipping box.
    Good luck!

  • Does Apple have a complaint department for Resellers?

macbook pro Mac OS X (10.4.6)
Does anyone know if there is an email address or phone number to lodge complaints about Resellers? I have been all over the Apple Support site and I can't find one.
I bought a MacBook Pro on 5/14 (1.83GHZ) and on 5/16 they started offering the 2.0GHZ for the same price. I tried to return it to the reseller (Connecting Point Medford, Oregon) which posted a 7 day return policy and they refused to take the return saying Apple will not allow them to return computers unless they are defective because Apple will not take returns on registered products. BTW, as we all know you have to register you Mac when you first start it up - there is no option to skip registration when you start it up the first time.
Also, the Apple store has told me if I had purchased from them they would have accepted the return. Anyone have any ideas?

In addition to the advice from Rajesh have you contacted an Apple Store in the area? My original MBP was a 15" I purchased from CompUSA. But when I had an issue with it AppleCare made me an appointment with the local Apple Store in the area to speak with a genius. They acknowledged the problem and swapped it out for me in store even though I did not purchase it there. They also allowed me to pay the difference to upgrade to a 17". I was very pleased with that. They gave me a receipt for 17" purchase at full price with the 14 day return and all. Just like that I was an Apple Store customer instead of a CompUSA customer.
YMMV since your issue is not actually one of a failed unit, but you never know what they may be able to do for you until you ask.

  • Does apple have a "suggestion box" for iPhone?

    or do they care?

    They do:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Keep in mind, though, that they are just suggestions. Requesting a feature enhancement does not necessarily mean that it will be added.
I mention this simply because certain features (MMS, Push Notifications, Copy/Paste) have been requested many times and have yet to be implemented.

    Ask Apple:

Ask at the school, as well. If there is a disability organization for the specific disability then make inquiry of that organization.

  • My iPhone 5 has numerous problems and I want to take it to an apple store to get a replacement but it is under my dads name... Does he have to be there for me to replace it?

    Hi guys
I recently just bought a new iPhone 5 and it is already having some problems like not receiving messages when it has told me I've received one, the side button is getting really stiff and hard to change to silent and it always goes into SOS only mode...
I want to go to the apple store and get a replacement but it is under my dads name.. Does he have to be there for me to replace it?? Thanks

I'd suggest you call the Apple Store and ask to make sure. They may insist on your father being present since the iPhone was purchased by him, but quite probably they won't care. They usually don't check ownership of the iPhone since many are purchased as gifts or sold to someone else.
    Regards.

I appreciate your repsonse, but the irony is that Apple is still scheduling "One-to-One" & Joint Venture training on iWeb knowing that it all will end next June. ..
Just to add this : iWeb -- the app itself -- is still supported, updated only months ago and as part of the ilife '11 DVDs still widely spread even though it is not sold on the AppStore it is official part of iLife. It runs in Lion and there is zero issues with the app. So a training makes sense, doesn't it ?.
They would only to exclude the "publish to me.com" part to be up to date for courses and trainings :-≠

  • Does apple have an app for the iMac which is similar to Microsoft office?

does apple have an app which is equivelant to microsoft office?

    http://www.apple.com/iwork/
However, I don't think the current version runs on any of the pre-2006 iMacs this forum covers. If you iMac is pre-2006, we can give you some options if you tell us more about your computer, mainly processor type and Mac OSX version from "About this Mac" in your Apple menu.
Microsoft makes Office for Mac but, again, what you can run depends on what iMac variant you have and its OS version.
