  • Why can't I download Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 from my disk?

I have recently purchased my new Imac and find that I can't download Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 from my disk?  Why isn't this supported?

Because it is a Windows version of MS Office. You will need a Mac version, such as listed below.

  • I am trying to download Microsoft office

i am trying to download Microsoft office 30 day's trial but. when i click on installation  folder it's opening on terminal. this happen many time i am trying to download something but when i try to install it ,termina  opens and I don't know how to install it.
    i am running OS x 10.7.3

Are these .dmg files?  Do you have this problem with all .dmg files?  That is what you seem to be implying.  If so, then rightclick one of the .dmg files and select 'Get info'.  Ensure that 'Open with' is set to DiskImageMounter.

  • Anyone know how to download microsoft office plus to mac

Tried to download microsoft office plus. I clicked the link from my email to download it but it wont extract it. Also i see it is a exe.
Has anyone else experienced this or have solutions to download it?

Thanks, Although i purchased it online, i see that i downloaded the pc version instead of the mac. Bad thing is, i did it through the military and their is no online refund. My guess is to call microsoft customer support.

  • Is there a student discount applicable when downloading microsoft office?

Can I apply my student discount if I download Microsoft Office from the site?

If you are able to get a discount, you will not get it through the regular Apple Store. You must use a special URL that gets you into an Education store where the prices are all listed lower. But they might only give you discounts on Apple hardware. For non-Apple products like Microsoft Office, you might have to go through Microsoft directly or ask your school if they have an arrangement with Microsoft.
You can look up your school here, and if your school is listed, it will let you through to the education store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/findyourschool
If you want a definitive answer, the best place to ask is at your school, since they're the ones who make the arrangements with Microsoft and Apple.

  • How can I download Microsoft office excel  for my MacBook Pro Mac OSX version for free. Please help me!

How can I download Microsoft office excel for my MacBook Pro  for free?

You can't. Excel is a commercial product sold by Microsoft in an Office "package" and not as a stand-alone product.
If you need to be able to open and save Excel documents on your Mac, however, you could try the free LibreOffice.

  • I downloaded microsoft office to my MBP and my question is how do i get the right file or operating system to open it and so that i can use it?

i downloaded microsoft office to my MBP and my question is how do i get the right file or operating system to open it and so that i can use it?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
There are two Office versions: Office for Windows, and Office for Mac.
I suspect that you have downloaded Office for Windows, and you can use it if you install Windows, but a cheaper and easiest way to use Office is to use Office for Mac, so you won't have to install Windows. See > http://www.microsoft.com/mac

  • How to download Microsoft office application on my iPad purchase in Jan 2013

I would like to download Microsoft office on my iPad. I want to create documents (word, excel and Power point) and save in folders. Kindly suggest ways.
    Dr.V.K.Mahajan

You can't download MS Office onto an iPad, MS haven't yet made an app version of their office programs.
There are options in the store for word, excel and powerpoint documents. The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
How you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via your wifi network, email, dropbox etc. For Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynote : copying documents via iTunes.

  • How do I fix formatting errors in Open Office after downloading Microsoft Office 2011 on my mac?

I have used Open Office for almost 2 years. I recently downloaded Microsoft Office 2011 and now, not only can I not use Open office due to formatting issues, I cannot read any of my documents that were saved in Open Office unless I open them in TextEdit or copy and paste into microsoft word. Does any know of any solutions to this problem?? I tried deleting Microsoft office but that did not fix the issue. This is my first mac... and I love Open Office and prefer it over microsoft...

    Crabtree1234,
    Try this:
    Install LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org/)
    Open your OpenOffice document(s)
Do a "Save As" and choose "Word Document (.docx)"
Then try opening them in Word.  LibreOffice is mostly the same as OpenOffce but LibreOffice has support for saving .docx files.  Here is more about the crazy history of the relationship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LibreOffice).
This may or may not help with the formatting as any conversion of one document format to another is bound to cause issues.
    Good luck.

  • Cannot open downloaded Microsoft Office 2011 on my Mac

I recently downloaded Microsoft Office 2011 on my Mac (running OS 10.6.8).  I keep getting a message that says there is no application that can open the program.  I have managed to get an image by trying to open the .dmg file in disk utility, but when I try again to install, it still says no application can open it.  Disk utility says that the file looks "ok."  I've checked with Microsoft and they say I ought to be able to open it.  Is there anything I can do?

Most apps use the Installer.app located in /System/Library/CoreServices/ to open installers. Launch that manually, then drop the Office installer app on top of its Dock icon. If that doesn't work, Reinstall Mtn Lion, starting with the latest update, 10.8.5 COMBO update.
