i just got a new gopro hero 2 and i cant edit with final cut. says im out of memory. can anyone help?

Error mesg - out of memory

I keep getting an error mesg a few seconds into playing an online game telling me the player is out of memory. Where do I find settings for this ?

What player - Shockwave Player, or Flash Player?
What is your operating system?
Also, can you supply a link where this is occurring?

Why does FCP error "File Not Found" when I try to open my sequences????

I recently updated all of my software and the following day I started getting errors "file not found" when I would try to open a sequence. Now all of my sequences are being lost and I am losing time and money because I can't meet deadlines! This *****!!! With one sequence I had to reedit the entire thing from scratch and when I did for some reason the old one would then open. But the next time I opened FCP both sequences would error out. Following the "file not found" the computer responds with another error "error: out of memory" What the devil is going on with this crap?

I seem to have figured out what my problem was. After trying to build the same project (that failed on the Mac Pro) on my laptop and encountering the same errors, I realized that the problem had to be with one or more of my assets and not my new version of FCP, since my PowerBook is running FCP 5.0.4 and my Mac Pro is running FCP 5.1.2.
In my case the "corrupt" file was a Photoshop PSD file. In the past (FCP 4.5) I was able to use PSD files with hidden layers. I would merge the visible layers into one layer, keep the hidden layers and save the file. Once in FCP, I imported the PSD file and kept right on truckin'. I've done this for years. For some reason now with FCP 5.1.2 (and 5.0.4), that's not flying anymore. Once I "Flattened" the PSD file in Photoshop (deleting all of the hidden layers) I was able to build the project without any errors.
Interestingly, the technique I used to figure out which file was "corrupt" also allowed me to salvage parts of some of my "lost" sequences. I saw this posted in a forum at Creative Cow (creativecow.net). Basically, I opened up the project, clicked the OK button after the File Not Found error, went into the Browser, right clicked on the offending sequence, selected "Make Offline". When I double clicked the sequence it opened in the timeline with all of my assets offline. Then in the timeline, one by one, I right clicked on each clip and selected "Reconnect Media". Once I linked up the media, if I didn't get an error message, I would save as a new project (to salvage what WAS working), and go to the next clip. I did this until I found the offending PSD files.
I hope this helps. Now it's time to play "catch-up"

FCP error during install.

I keep getting an error after installing FCP 5.1.1.
It says error during install please try again.
Im using 10.4.7 on my ibook 1ghz 640mb ram.
I know it will work because a friend has installed it on his.
Any one help?

This most often caused by a damaged or otherwise faulty disk in the package. It happens. Try cleaning the disks and then get out your receipt and serial number because your only recourse will be to call Apple for a replacement.

FCP ERROR when trying to convert variable frame rate Panasonic P2

Ok, yesterday I was able to convert variable frame rate footage so it rendered out nice slo mo's via DVCPRO HD Frame rate converter in FCP 6.0.4, it worked perfect. I tried it multiple times - So I know it can be done... Today however I created the same "easy setup" in FCP I used yesterday, and it wont work?
it comes up with the error:
"An error occurred during processing, unable to conform source media FCP" is there some setting that by default switches"
has anyone heard of this happening? it seems like a program error... but I could be wrong... I haven't been able to figure it out on my own.
does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like you have done a very thorough job of tracking down your problem and a temporary solution. Just one question. Is the footage from the HDX-900 that you say...

Color to FCP error

I sent a sequence to Color from FCP as usual and when I was done I saved it and clicked Send to Final Cut Pro. The sequence came back to FCP as usual but when I opened the colored sequence - ie. 'Sequence' (from Color) - there was no sequence there. It was as if I had sent a blank sequence from Color.
Does anyone know what is happening here? I've never had that happen before.

For anyone who is having this issue, definitely try the following steps in order. I used these steps to fix a General Error problem and it fixed the round-tripping error at the same time.

Check permissions on the render folder. The general error is usually a permissions issue.
However it would be good for you to trash the prefs again also.
Log in as the user where you are having issues.
Trash all prefs not just .plist
Heres what to trash;
Location /Users/username/Libray/Preferences/
com.apple.finalcutpro.plist
Then trash;
Location /Users/username/Libray/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/
Final Cut Pro 7.0 Prefs (or whichever version you are running)
Final Cut Pro Obj Cache
Final Cut Pro Prof Cache
Then empty trash.
I would then repair permissions on the machine (this usually helps from time to time.)
Log in as your admin go to Disk Utility highlight the disk name and repair permissions.
Restart and Give it a whirl.

Importing MPGs to FCP: Error!

Trying to use a hard drive full of mpg's but can't open them in Quicktime or import them into FCP (v4.5) Error Message below
File Error: 1 file recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.
The files are fine as I can open them in VLC (freeware media player that plays everything)
Does anyone know why these files are being rejected and more importantly what I can do to get around it and import these mothers into FCP?

Sorry -new to most of this. Flavor or mpeg? Well, they're ".mpg's". I've used mpgs in FCP before. I have the cushy task of simply laying the company water mark over the files- so not too much editing going on. Is there something I can use to convert these files from mpg's to mov's? OR something else FCP will recognize?

Error message: Cannot sync songs purchased in iTunes to iTouch because computer is not authorized. I go in and authorize computer (only computer I have ever used for iTunes), seems to be successful. Then I try to sync again and it gives same error mesg

It just goes in a circle. This computer not authorized to sync purchased songs to iTouch. Follow directions to authorize computer, seems successful. Sync again and it comes up with the same error message....this computer not authorized to sync iTune purchases to iTouch. I have deauthorized the computer and reauthorized and it didn't make a difference. I updated and restored to factory settings. Still same error message. I have had this problem the last 2 times I have synced. Worked previously. Any ideas??

additional info: I looked into similar complaints. 1 suggested that something is wrong with the files. Delete them off of computer and divice (but they are not on my divice anymore) and then download them again from iTunes purchase history. Went in to check iTunes purchases to make sure the songs would be there if I did follow these steps. Well, NONE of them are in my purchase history.....probably the real problem here. I had an original iPod Nano and then upgraded to my current iTouch.....same computer for both. Could there have been a problem at the point of switching over to the iTouch? That doesn't make sence to me because it is through iTunes and it was the same account for both. I thought I'd be smart and put all the songs in a playlist and burn to a CD and them load them back in that way.....but I was not authorized to burn to a CD....go figure. Any idease would be great!!

The cost center has been assigned in OKB9 already, hence am not sure why it didn't trigger the cost center fro OKB9.
Any setting in SD or FI is missing?

I've just got this error to.
After trying to figure out what I had done wrong, I shut every thing down.
When I booted up again I found that the Sound track pro and FCPX and Safari were still open, so I forced quit and shut down again.
This time when I booted up nothing was still open so I opened FCPX and tried again.
Every thing back to normal.

Question re error mesg (timed out network conn) ?

Hello, I have used itunes for a while but have encountered a prob today. when trying to redeem itunes card...i get msg "timed out network conn,,,,etc" I have reinstalled itunes and checked settings as i know how...any suggestions?

i've had more than one experience with this problem happening. every christmas millions of kids are getting new ipods and/or itunes gift cards. now, i stupidly attempt to redeem my gift card but i anticipated that it wouldn't work. the farthest i've gotten is to the redeem page but once i try, it just gives me the error sign. so it'll probably work after you waste hours and hours trying to get it to work, but don't bother. try later tonight or tomorrow when there probably won't be so many people attempting to buy/redeem music.
