HT1338 HEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! reinstallation of MAC OSX 10.7

I am running OS X 10.7. Had to buy a new HD and reinstall. I have Formatted to Mac OS (Journaled) and have continued to do the online re-installation. Click Continue then "an error occured while preparing the installation".. why? and how to fix?HE

Okay. So I have run the installer log and apparently its due to an untrusted_cert_title.
Can this be fixed?

  • HT1338 If i have MAC OSX VERSION 10.5.8 What do I need to bring my computer up to date

I'm not sure what to buy....lion first, leopard what?

We need to know what model iMac you have and its configuration.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
If you need to purchase Snow Leopard you can still purchase a copy from Apple's online store's telesales agents.[1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775.] Ask for a Sales Representative.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
If you need to purchase Lion call 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. Ask for a Sales Representative. They will check your Apple ID, and email you a code and instructions.  The cost is $29.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
    MB427Z/A  Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
    MB576Z/A  Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A  Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)

After you install the base 10.5, download & install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
The DVD should look like this
Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

I have a mac OSX version 10.5.8 How can I increase it to 10.6.8 or better?

You will need to purchase the DVD from Apple to upgrade to Snow Leopard. All upgrades after that (if required) will need Snow Leopard be installed first. Check the link below for requirements and ordering info.

  • HT1338 how can i stop recurrent beach balling with iPhoto 11 on mac OSX 10.7.5

Iphoto 11 keeps beach balling and often takes the whole computer with it. - Mac OSX 10.7.5. I have run the internal iphoto repair database/thumbnail/permissions utility without effect.

Can anyone tell me if a mac mini with 2 GB of RAM and a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor should be able to run Mac OSX 10.7.5 and iphoto 11? I am thinking I am just short of resources causing recurrent beachballing of iphoto and crashing of the whole computer. I have 133 GB of 320 GB free on the HD. Thanks for any advice.

  • HT1338 I have a canon pixma ip4300 ij printer connected to my mac G5 with an intel processor, i cannot print cd labels since i changed from the old mac OSX  processor.

I have a canon pixma ip4300 ij printer with software to print cd/dvd labels ,i origonaly had it connected to a mac with the old MAC  OSX processor, since i have changed to a mac with MOUNTAIN LION the new intel processor i cannot print the cd labels, i have downloaded software update for the printer but it still reverts back to the old software , can anyone help  thank you   Allan R

So do you have any problems using the iP4300 to print from other applications on 10.8? Just trying to get an idea of your current setup.
I ask because Easy PhotoPrint (EPP) will use your existing printer - there is no need to create a new printer. So when you open the software and select to make a Disc Label, when you get to Step 4 -  Print Settings, the software looks at your existing printer setup to check that you have a printer that will support CD/DVD printing (not all models of Canon inkjet support this).
So with regards to the problem connecting to the iP4300, is the software failing to locate a supporting printer? Can you give me a bit more info as to what is happening when you attempt to print a CD/DVD from EPP?
