HT1338 how do I block unwanted senders in my e-mail?

how do I block unwanted senders in my e-mail?

Hello:
Your ISP should (most of them do) have a capability to block senders. The Mail application does not (as far as I know). If you get unwanted mail, mark it junk.

how do i block unwanted emails or contacts

Hi :)
I have the same problem. All of the sudden I receive tons of unsolicited ***** invitations. You can do two things:
Forward emails to: [email protected]
Put them in the Junk folder. Apple is supposed to check that and do something about it.
I downloaded a little app called SpamDrain. They give you few weeks of free service but after that they will charge you for removing your unwanted stuff.
Anyway this problem started about three weeks ago and I receive about ten unwanted ***** mails every day. It's a real pain. Hopefully between apple and the little app I will get rid of it.

• How can I block unwanted calls? (Besides Do Not Call List)

We just moved into our new home and have Verizon's home phone service (and everything else). In less than the month we've been here we've been BOMBARDED by HUNDREDS of solicitors! Half are non-profits, half biz/telemarketers.They're all unwanted (I don't even do charities over the phone). I've never been so overwhelmed with unwanted calls before! (Must be a California thing? We just moved here from Seattle). Our number is on the National Do Not Call registry, but of course that doesn't stop the non-profits, charities and politicians from calling (they're excluded). Nor does it stop the ones who just don't care. I see that Verizon no longer provides the option of blocking unwanted numbers, and it also discontinued the Do Not Disturb feature. There used to be other options from many of the various phone providers to block all calls except those on a pre-approved list of your choosing. Why aren't these options available to us anymore???
I'm thinking... with all this advanced technology... there MUST be some way to block all those unwanted calls!!??!!
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hello rednorsk
There are a couple of options, including one that is on done through your account online, or by calling customer service and requesting the block. Customer Service can tell you how many of these blocks can be done for free, and whether you will need a specific plan to cover more.
Here is a thread on just your issue.

• How do I block unwanted incoming controller messages?

This is a followup to How do I prevent the patch from advancing multiple times per switch press?
The Mainstage 2.2 release notes list blocking unwanted incoming controller messages as a feature. However, I can't find anything in the docs about it and I've been poking at the UI for a while now trying to find it to no avail. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Hi
Further to this, the 'new' (MS 2.2) way requires the use of the new Assignments and Mappings pane in Edit mode. The advantages are that you can map, and block, MIDI without needing a Screen Control in the layout.
1) Click on the Action gear on the right, and make a new assignment.
2) Activate the Assign and Map button by clicking on it (goes red)
3) Send in the MIDI message you wish to block
4) De-activate the Assign and Map button
Alternatively for Step 3, you clould manually set the MIDI message to be blocked by clicking on "no Assignment" in the left column.
Note that the default is to have "None" in the Control Inspector (which does the 'blocking'). I vaguley recall that is does not block everything?

• TS3276 how do I block harassing senders, mail I don't want to receive

I am receiving harassing emails with unwanted suggestions (sometimes suggestions appear sexual). I want to block these emails from coming thru. I think they're from the same person, he/she just keeps changing their name & email addr, but most are from hotml. How can I block these emails? They are very offensive. I've already emailed hotml, talked with my provider and talked with the police. No help

The best option available now is to use the junk mail filtering.

How do i block/delete certain senders from sending me emails

remove these senders from your addressbook, if they are there
mark all of their messages you currently have as Junk
create a specific rules and add their addresses to this rule, then have the messages deleted upon arrival
Send them an email asking to leave you alone, perhaps? Unless they are noreply addresses
I'm sure there are other ways.

• SMS - How do I block unwanted messages...

I received a SMS message Yesterday morning From: Duane Hutchison. Subj: Arnold
MSG: Get a business money loan then the web site.
Anyone have an idea how I can block spammers?

Ok, I called AT&T/Cingular, the 1st person I talked to was not aware there was spam coming into the iPhone. He connected me to a product specialist, he said that I should call AT&T directly, and there was nothing he could do because he just supports the iPhone not the carrier. He did give me the number to call. I will try to call them tomorrow evening; I have run out of time for today, (just got back from dentist).
Anyway, he did confirm that even though I have unlimited data plan, if I go over 200 text messages in a month AT&T will charge me for the messages over 200.
I also mentioned to him that I live in CT and I have my house phone and cell phones on the CT "No Call" list, and that the CT attorney General has stated that it does not matter if the phone is a land line or cell, No Call is No Call. The product specialist added that since the SMS is coming over the phone via my "No call" phone number I should be sure and tell AT&T.
Of course if these spam’s are coming from out of the country, which many do. There is probably not much we can do.
But I will call AT&T tomorrow and update this post. Thank you everyone for the suggestions.

• How do I block unwanted 'sponsored' emails? Was ok until new Mozilla Firefox installed yesterday!

Ad blocker is already ticked. But since Mozilla updated yesterday I keep on getting 'sponsored' emails that I don't want. I cannot mark these as spam because that option is not available. I can only open them (which I don't want to do). However if I refresh the page they vanish for a while and then suddenly reappear!!
Please help.

I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and
'''''Firefox Options > Advanced > General'''''.
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
• How to block unwanted pop us on yahoo mail

I keep getting unwanted pop-ups on the top bar of my bt yahoo mail page, next to the contacts box. The current message is wilmadrummondi425. I have Windows XP and Firefox. I keep clearing the pop-up by clicking on the x on the top right corner of the pop up but it keeps returning every time I open my email account. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Solved this problem myself by right clicking on the pop-up and finding a way of adding the name of the pop-up to a list of pop-ups that I did not want to hear from. Thank You.
