    Hi Brian
You can batch process a set of prepared slides from Full Edit (see image) using:
    File >> Process Multiple Files
In the PMF dialog you can choose filename, date, or description (caption)
Make sure you choose a separate destination folder to your source folder so as tot to permanently overwrite your originals.

  • How can I control the music that plays during Apple TV photo slide shows?

I don't want to make my parents listen to Breaking Benjamin music as they watch my photo slide shows on Apple TV. Need something more sedate. But if a B.B. song is in my iTunes music library, it is a candidate for random selection as background music for my slide shows. How do I control what music plays during Apple TV photo slide shows?

What I find is really silly, is the fact the music video's are listed under that artists albums in the Music menu. And when you go into the video 'album' (called 'Unknown' unless you change it) there is an option to shuffle the tracks. Clicking this just results in an error message. So, they should either remove that option if it is a video album, or, better yet, GET IT TO WORK. So silly of them to omit this.
    I have submitted feedback.

after making the photo slide show, i clicked share>export movie.  after which i burned using toast. the file became a .mov.  i tried playing it in my mac and it worked. my fear now is will it also play in a regular dvd?... i read from google that mov files won't run in dvd players.  what format should i convert it to so it'll play in a dvd player.  can you suggest a faster way i can burn my projects for it takes me almost an hour to export.  im going to make 28 slideshows for my kids in school. *=( if i need to do this process 28 times, i may not be able to finish it on time.  please suggest a software or an alternative as to how i should do this... m more comfortable using imovie than iphoto.  thanks and i hope to hear from someone soon *=j

Thank you QuickTimeKirk...used toast to burn project... my project was in .mov, i tried to play it a dvd player, it did play... will try again tomorrow using another dvd player just to be sure it'll will really work with dvd players.  thank you again for your reply *=)

  • Modifying Photo Slide Show Template

    Hello All,
I've never used Flash before, and I don't know any
ActionScript. I am using Flash 8 Professional on Windows XP
Professional. I believe my problem is fairly simple to solve, but I
have not been able to find any information on the Internet. I would
greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
I am using the Photo Slide Show template, and I would like to
add transition effects to it. Is this possible? If so, how would I
go about doing it? Please help me. I appreciate your time and
    consideration.

    Hi Sisilla,
I was just thinking that if you need to get a nice slideshow
with effects going on your website quickly you could use another
program that specializes in just that. There are lots of
these Flash slideshow programs that you can download. Here is one..
    http://www.amarasoftware.com/flash-slide-show.htm
(I never tried it myself) If you put "Flash slideshow maker"
in a google search you will see there are lots of em.
Also, other Flash creation programs like SwishMax have
built-in transition effects that you can use. It is much easier
    than trying
to do the same thing in Adobe Flash. You could get your
slideshow going quicker since it takes longer to learn Adobe Flash.
    luck,

  • I need to do non-constrained crops for Ken Burns effect in photo slide show

I am making photo slide shows in imovie '09. I understand the Ken Burns effect and how to set a start and an end point. I want to use the effect on vertical or portrait mode photos. i would like to have the entire photo displayed in portrait mode and have it zoom in a bit. The problem is The start and end points seem to only be horizontal or landscape mode. I can't ever get the entire image selected. How can I do this?
    Thanks,
    Tim

You need to add the letterbox (black space) in another application. iMovie's Ken Burns effect will not do it for you. You can do it in Photoshop if you like.
However, there is a way to do it in Automator, and you can do hundreds of vertical photos very quickly. That is the way I do it.
    Here is more detail:
There is also a quick way to pad your images without using Photoshop. This method will pad hundreds of images in just a few seconds.
You do it with a tool that comes with OS/X called Automator. It should be in your Applications/Utilities folder.
Automator is basically a workflow tool. It allows you to string together commands and actions into a workflow and then execute the entire sequence at once. If you have Snow Leopard, you can even add these workflows to your contextual menus that come up when you right-click.
There are many workflows that would work to pad your images. Here is an example:
In Automator, start a photo workflow and drag the following actions into the workflow from the Action palettes on the left.
    You should have something like:
1)Ask for Photos (You must select one or more photos and hit Select - you can make this easier by putting them in an album beforehand)
    2) Copy Finder Items (give it a folder to copy to- so you can find them easily)
    3) Pad Images. (put a check mark in "scale image before padding" Pick the pixel dimensions of your project...like 640x480 or 960x540. or 1920x1080
Hit Run and a dialog box will come up asking you to select photos. When you are finished, press SELECT and the Automator script will keep running.
Then at the end you should have padded images in the folder you created in step 2.

My Apple TV stops and returns to main menu during movie playback and photo slide show via homesharing. I have a second Apple TV in another room that works fine.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

  • Photo Slide Shows - inconsistent quality

Last summer I burned a very complicated idvd photo slide show using digital photos in RAW format from my Nikon D70 and the slides looked really great. I just tried to do it again - same camera, same lens, still in RAW and the photos - while looking good during construction and test runs, come out very fuzzy on the burned dvd. I'm really puzzled. Can anyone explain what I might have done differently to yield such different results? [and how I get back to the good results?)
iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   different photo quality in different burns

    Tom,
I hope you have read Preparing images for DVD slideshows at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/17.html
The best you can do is get about a 640x480 equivalent image on a DVD - that's about 0.3 megapixels - so there is NO way you can match the image quality of your high resolution digital images.
Despite their names, you will get slightly better image quality using the 'Best Performance' mode than you will with the 'Best Quality' mode. Perhaps you used BP before and BQ now.
I have used FotoMagico for creating slideshows and feel I got better image quality than iMovie or iDVD and some people like Photo to Movie.

  • Trying to overlay photo slide show over video

Hi, I'm relatively new to iMovie but couldn't seem to work this one out myself.
I've have video of myself talking, and without disrupting the audio track, I would like to overlay a photo slide show of still images over part of my dialog, but can't figure out how to do this. Ideally, the video would fade out/fade in to the photo slide show, but the audio track would remain constant, and then when the photo slide show is completed, fade out/fade in to the straight video again.
Anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

Select the clip with the audio and use Clip>Detach Audio. You have to put the stills on the main video track because you can't add transition to stills or clips on the overlay or B-roll track. Once the audio is separated you can replace the picture with stills and start building your slideshow on the video track.

  • Help! during my photo slide show/some screens are green and/colored-why

This is my first photo slide show in IMOVIE 8, when I go to "play" my slide show, some photo are NOT showing up INSTEAD a "colored" screen comes up. WHY? Not sure what I did wrong.

I to have the same problem. It is very annoying, I name my photos so that they would be in a specific order or grouping.
It appears that a programmer slipped? When I write code to copy files I would sort the list by filename as done in OS versions prior to 4.0.
The order of the photos is now in the order that they were added to the folder which is then sync'd to our pods.
I for one am not willing to remove and rebuild my whole photo library re-adding the photos to the sync'd in the order I wish to see them every time I wish to add more photos.
It is a disappointment, but I have not been online in a couple of weeks and maybe Apple has caught on and put filename sorting back into the code.

  • Fix for AppleTV photo slide show music stopping after abut 20 minutes?

Fix for AppleTV photo slide show music stopping after abut 20 minutes?

Just ran another series of tests ... I am now convinced that AppleTV's slideshow/screensaver is broken.
Too often it will 'get stuck' on one photo for minutes then show no photo and finally move on; in fact it is doing it right now.
I don't ever remember seeing this occur before the last upgrade.

  • How to convert JPEG slide show to Keynote?

My objective: use iPad to display photo slide shows via video projector.
I bought the official iPad video adaptor, only to discover that video output for STILLs like JPEGs is only support by Keynote (not by Photos, ...). So I bought Keynote for iPad, only to discover that apparently Keynote requires that I manually recreate all 269 slides!
Surely there is a fast, simple way to convert a folder of JPEGs to a Keynote presentation on iPad? The image files are all properly named so that filename order is the correct presentation order.
Any solution advice will be much appreciated!

    David,
Thank you for the instant replies. Yes, we can use iPhoto/Mac OS to export a slideshow to Photos on iPad (including video clips). That works fine.
The shocking thing (for Apple) is that the official video adapter is only supported at the app level. Please see article HT4108
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4108
I was astonished to show up for a presentation, plug in iPad - no video out from Photos. Had to grab the MacBook Pro which I thankfully had as a backup preloaded with the same show.
I've verified HT4108 on a borrowed projector. Videos works. Youtube works.
Now that I've paid for Keynote I've been able to verify that Keynote works, but only once you have initiated "Play".
If I can import all the JPEGs into 1:1 corresponding Keynote slides then I am not too unhappy about having to spend another $10 added to the $39.95 for the adaptor (in AUS). Otherwise I will try to get a refund for everything from Apple.

    Ways to share photos
Using iPhoto on your device, you can share your photos in many ways:
    Send photos to other devices
Beam photos, albums, events, journals, and slideshows (send wirelessly) from your device to another iOS device with iPhoto installed. Beaming shares photos in full resolution.
If you have a device that supports AirDrop, you can send photos wirelessly to other iOS devices that use AirDrop. You can use AirDrop to share photos, albums, events, journals, and slideshows. AirDrop shares photos in full resolution.
If you have an iCloud account and you’ve set up My Photo Stream, photos you save to the Camera Roll are sent to all of your devices.
Use photos in other apps on your device
Send your photos to other apps installed on your device, including iMovie and other iPhoto-supported apps.
Use your photos in any app by saving them to the Camera Roll.
    Send photos to your computer
Import photos directly into iPhoto or Aperture on your computer.
Save photos to your computer using iTunes.
    Share photos on the web
Post photos to your Twitter, Flickr, or Facebook accounts directly from iPhoto. You can add comments when you post photos using iPhoto.
Create a web journal with your photos and publish your journal as a webpage using your iCloud account.
Create a slideshow with your photos and publish your sllideshow as a webpage using your iCloud account.
    Email, display, and print photos
Send an email with your photos.
Share photos using the Messages app on your device.
Present your photos as a slideshow with music and transition effects.
View photos on an external display using an HDMI cable adapter or on a TV using AirPlay and Apple TV.
Print photos from your device to a printer that supports AirPrint. Tap > Print and select a printer.
Create books of your photos and order professionally printed and bound copies of them.
Order professional-quality prints, and have them delivered to an address you specify.
    Cheers,
    - Judy
