I am having the same problem, at least I think so.. When opening a site that uses Java, a popup screen opens that tells me Java virtual machine has to be installed. I lately installed Java Plug-in 1.5.0
Using JRE version 1.5.0-rc Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM. I have configured everythin that has to do with Java to use this plugin, but it just won�t work. Website is http://www.nl.map24.com/ just fill in any adres to go to the part of the site that uses java. I have opened the java console, but there is no error message coming up there. Also there is no message that IE (6) is accessing JVM, but I don�t know if there has to be one...

2) added a [JAVA] entry to my local client CFG. in the

Have the pics allways been used off the external drive?
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Is Spotlight indexing that drive, or is it used by Time Machine?

Cannot get Java to compile

I have recently installed the newest Java version on my XP computer. I can't get it to compile the programs
I have written. I have it saved in C:/Program Files/java_save. When I go to compile I get "javac is not a recognized action or file name." I have tried creating the path in the system settings but I still cannot get it to work. I have tried just about everything I can think of. I am getting really frustrated and haven't gotten an answer from java when I emailed them. Do I need to reinstall java or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You!

Note also the order of the items in the PATH setting. As discussed here in Reply 1..

I can't get Java to work

Hi,
I am running OSX version 10.7.5 and safari 6.0.2 (7536.26.17).
It is a clean install onto a new drive.
I want to be able to use Java but cannot get it to work.
I have made sure that safari is running in 64 bit mode and that Java is enabled in the safari preferences.
I have installed Java 7 update 15 which has completed successfully but java does not work even after reloading/restarting safari.
If I visit a java test page, I get the message that i have had a plug in failure.
I have spent quite a time reading about this on the internet but cannot see how to get safari and Java to play nice!
Any help would be gratefuly received.

I am creating a report and need to use related selects,
second pulldown dependent of first pulldown selection.
I found this example off the internet and it does exactly
what I want to do :

However, when I attempt to make my substitution in the code,
all I get for my second pulldown is the id numbers, no names. I am
frustrated beyond belief ! Seems simple enough but I just cannot
get it to work and I have been playing with this for over two weeks
now.
Can somebody please show me how to do it ? Here is my query

I think when you are using JS code then you are assigning the
value to the second Drop down box in this way:
"document.formname.second_combo_box_name[n].
text" = some_value
So check "document.formname.second_combo_box_name[n].
text" should be assigned area (depot) name in java script.
It should not be number but area name.

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I actually did not resolve the issue which is why i did not post an answer.
it turns out that my iphone seems to default to an incorrect User ID (it defaults to an @me account, which is not something that i have ever used).
even when i change the User ID in my settings for the iTunes store, it still appears when i attempt to get updates for my existing apps. however, it does seem to use the correct ID when i attempt to purchase new apps.
If someone actually had an answer to correct this, i would love to update my existing apps.

Don't use Multiple Speakers option and just choose the AppleTV
What are you trying to Airplay? If it's iTunes content it's simpler to 'pull' the stream from the Computers icson on AppleTV by selecting the libarry and media.
If you are attempting to Airplay the desktop you can't.
