This is the procedure for updating iOS, which can be done on the device, or through iTunes.

There should not be a step where you download the update separately.
If you are referring the downloading as an automatic part of the overall process, can you explain the failure in more detail?

If you have an iPhone and have it set to keep the normal photo when shooting HDR photos the two image files that are created will be duplicates in a manner of speaking (same image) but there are only twp apps that detected the iPhone HDR and normal photos as being duplicates: PhotoSweeper and Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto. None of the other apps detected those two files as being duplicates as they look for file name as well as other attributes and the two files from the iPhone have different file names.
iPLM, however, is the best all around iPhoto utility as it can do so much more than just find duplicates. IMO it's a must have tool if using iPhoto.

Damaged software display after downloading lion or upgrading.
When i want to upgrade my software evryting works fine.
But after the download is done it says that the software is damaged.
How can i fix this problem because i have done this so many times but it still stays the same ?

Have you tried repairing your hard drive? Reboot from your Mac OS X install disk (hold down C with the disk in the drive at startup), choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, select your hard drive and click Repair Disk.

Good timing! Oh well, at least you shouldn't have to update again for a while. It will be nice kickstarting your Mac with the very latest System Update knowing any hiccups from 10.8.2 would have been ironed out if they were going to affect your workflow at all.

Well, the Download failed several times via iTunes, so I have downloaded it from another source of the Internet. How can I get it on my iPod touch 4g?

Put the downloaded .ipsw file in the <user/library/iTunes/iPod Software Update/> folder.
then start iTunes, connect the iPod, and click the iPod in the left navigation panel, Alt-Click on the "Restore" button. Go to the folder where you placed this file and "choose" it. (When you just click Restore it will work also, but with Alt-Click you are sure to have the new file!).

iOS 5.1.1 Software Update - just tried to update and it didn't work! Got to the final stages and was presented with error 1602! My screen now has the frozen image of the itunes logo and usb thing. Happened once before - funnily enough when doing an update back in November - I had to visit an Apple store to have the phone restored. Would appreciate any advice as I would like to avoid another trip to the apple store.

found the real problem.
In my laptop where it couldn't detect the iphone and ipad, this folder is missing:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
The ipad was wrongly using a microsoft driver.
I found the correct drivers in:
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usbaapl64.inf_amd64_neutral_c111a aecb61e9a2b
Copy the contents to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
After that, I had to update the driver for Ipad in device manager.
Ipad was found under: "Removable Devices", as a storage device.
Once that is fixed, itunes can detect ipad, and I can restore it.
Apple should really look into ensuring that folder doesn't go missing during itunes update process.

I moved during the summer. I changed to highspeedand & when I set my computer up it told me that my email address was already in use so I had to change it(????) I changed from jkady to [email protected] I tried to change it on firefox but it would not except the new name and I could not get into my old account.I need all my addresses and would like to cancel the old account but I can not get into it. I logged in changed the primary E-Mail address to a different one, vertified it then tried to log in it said either to send an E-Mail to veritify again or to do my security questions, so I choose to do the security questions and put in my Birthday like it asked and it said that it was wrong and I had to authenticate it to get in, why is it so hard to just set up a Apple ID really though!
So I tried the E-Mail to and it has not sent me an E-Mail then I tried to log in again and it has locked me out of my account so I try to recover my password and it gave me the same options to get my password back and both options are doing the same as before, it says I don't know my on birth date or it is wrong or needs authenticate it, then the E-Mail doesn't come through!

iTunes for Windows (but not iTunes for Mac) can import and convert unprotected WMA tracks. If the tracks are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) then it will not accept them.
One option would be to install iTunes on your PC, do the conversion, and then transfer the converted tracks from iTunes on your PC to iTunes on your Mac.

PDF download for my camera manual cannot be found after downloading

I have downloaded a Nikon manual for my camera twice. It is a PDF document. It is not in downloads, documents or anywhere else that I know where to look - can you help?

You are using Firefox 4 and I've not used it before but perhaps I can help you.
Try using XP search to find the file. Click Start and then click Search and search for files and folders.
For the file name to search for, put in *.pdf and start the search.
This will search for all PDF files on your system. It may take a while, but if you have downloaded the file, it should be found.
I don't know if Firefox 4 has the same feature, but look in the Tools menu (or its equivalent for Firefox 4) for a way to display the Downloads window.
This will contain a list of everything you have downloaded. If you find the camera manual in the list, right click on it and select Open Containing Folder -- this may be different in Firefox 4.

I was able to download my add-ons and everything was working until all of a sudden when I went to download more photoshop software, my downloads stopped opening up. Does that mean, you are now running Aperture 3.5.1? Then you should be seeing Aperture on the Purchases tab of the App Store and your Aperture license has been associated with your Apple ID.
