You can sell your existing computer using eBay, Craigslist or the venue of your choice. You could then use the proceeds to purchase a new computer.

I recently updated my macbook pro to 10.7.5 and the option in Safari to empty cache is gone. Is this a glitch or is there some other way to empty cache?
Uninstall Genieo:

See if that makes a difference.

Also is Safeboot ok to use?
Yes, it will do no harm, but it is meant for trouble shooting and you should not have to use it all the time.

I have a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010 that was purchased in summer of 2010. My battery has used 326 cyles. Is this normal for these batteries after two years? How many cycles should I expect to get out of it before getting a new one? Also, it only last about 1 hour plus about 30 minutes before needing to be charged again.
The battery is considered a 'consumable' item by Apple - I know that newer models (not sure about 2010's) are supposed to 'last' to about 1,000 cycle counts. But it all depends on how you've used (or abused) your battery as to how long it's going to last. I've 182 cycles on my 8 month old MBP and my battery 'health' is at 98%: I can still get a good 6 1/2 hours out of it...
...if you want more battery time, you're just going to have to buy a new battery or, if you purchased AppleCare, see if Apple will replace it gratis. I doubt that they will, though...

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.3There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it. -
i have a macbook pro 10.6.8 and need to upgrade to mavericks 10.9 what do i do - i also have a paralel for windows with company software and quikbooks.
Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
If this is a company computer or is used with company software, I suggest you do not upgrade to Mavericks without first checking with your company. Older software may not work with Mavericks. Some of it may need upgrading, and that may be something your company is unwilling to pay for. -

Precisely why it's not an iPad, and why it doesn't cost very much. An Apple rep would tell you how to connect an iPad to every computer.

Please help!! I have a Macbook Pro, running Yosemite. Lightroom 5.7
Whenever I try to add music to a slideshow, it shuts down the program.Try resetting your SMC and NVRAM before attempting to install again.
Resetting the NVRAM/PRAM
Note: This will not delete any data.
The NVRAM/PRAM stores information such as speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and recent kernel panic information (if any). You should reset the NVRAM/PRAM if you experience issues relating to these functions.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Turn on the computer by pressing the Power Button.
On the built-in keyboard, press and hold the Command (⌘), Option (⌥), P, and R keys before the gray screen appears.
Continue to hold down the keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chime for the second time.
Release the keys on the built-in keyboard.
Resetting the SMC of an Intel-based portable Mac with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: This will not delete any data.
The SMC is responsible for controlling various system functions. None of your data will be deleted by resetting the SMC.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.
Release the (left side) Shift (⇧), Control (⌃), and Option (⌥) keys and the Power Button at the same time.
I hope I helped.

Hi There,
I have a MacBook Pro (late 2011) and a Thundertbolt Display. I have recently upgraded to Yosemite. Since then Thunderbolt Firmware update 1.2 keeps reappearing and I cannot complete the update (with and without display connected etc.). Any advice? Thanks.Hello HTG65,
If the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2: Keeps reappearing try reinstalling it following the steps in this article.
Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2: Keeps reappearing and Thunderbolt ports and Target Display Mode may not work - Apple Support
To resolve this issue:
Shutdown your computer.
Disconnect all Thunderbolt devices.
Wait 10 seconds.
If you are using a Mac mini with a Thunderbolt display, reconnect the Thunderbolt display directly to your computer via the Thunderbolt port. Do not connect other Thunderbolt devices at this time.
Restart your computer.
If the Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2 is offered, download and install it and restart your computer when asked. If the Thunderbolt Update is not offered, the update has installed correctly.
Reconnect all Thunderbolt devices.
Take care,

I can only listen to music in iTunes when i'm connected to the internet. Everything seems to have uploaded onto iCloud - something I didn't sign up for. Happened with the latest iTunes update.
All of the music is still on my computer, but when I play it through iTunes, it either buffers first (when I'm connected to the internet) or it is greyed out (offline) and I can't listen to it.
This is beyond annoying. Is there anything I can do to sort this out?
Cheers.Have you read for possible solutions over in the "More Like This" thread over here?----------------------->

Now sure I have Mountian Lion, but bought my Macbook pro and the end of Decemeber 2013 and picked it from Best Buy on January 4, 2013. When I click on my apple my software doesn't say Mountion Lion but OS X 10.8.3. Need advice.
Thanks,
ChristineMountain Lion is OS X 10.8 and all of its associated versions (10.8.1, 10.8.2, etc.).
So the answer is "yes." -
I'm really not sure what I should be doing, the MacStore keeps prompting me to install Mountain Lion but I dont want to buy it for it not to work on my mac.
My Mac is a MacBook Pro, bought new in 2008 running version 10.5.8 which is Leopard I think?
If you could help me with this it would be great as my version isn't supported by hardly anything anymore (Google Chrome for example).
ThanksUpgrading to Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
If you need to purchase Snow Leopard you can still purchase a copy from Apple's online store's telesales agents.[1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775.] Ask for a Sales Representative.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
If you need to purchase Lion call 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. Ask for a Sales Representative. They will check your Apple ID, and email you a code and instructions. The cost is $29.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
