OK. You can upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion if you wish. But you will need to upgrade RAM once you get to Snow Leopard - 10.6.x and above. Here's the requirements:

You're gonna have fun with this because the HSL qualifiers probably won't see much separation between the areas that you want to isolate. You could try combinations of turning off Hue, Saturation, or Luminance. See what you get.

It depends on what iMac you have. If it is an old PPC (G4 orG5) iMac then no further upgrades are possible. If it an Intel iMac:

I have both Photoshop 4 and Photoshop 6 on my computer. When I am in Bridge and want to open an image by double clicking, it automatically opens in 6. I see, when I go to "open with" 6 is listed as "default" How can I change the default to open an image with a double click in 4?
You can associate files from the Bridge level and the Desktop level.
In Bridge CS4, go to Preferences > File Type Associations and change it to Photoshop CS4 for the file types you want.

I have one folder with several projects all of which Aperure can not find the original. I do not use referenced files. I can't make any adjustments like cropping etc. What can I do to adjust or print any of these photos? IO have no ther projects with this problem. My Aperture Library is automatically saved to two external drives.

Have you checked inside your Aperture library, if the original files are still there?
Try to find out, when the images in those projects have been originally imported, then open the Aperture library by ctrl-clicking it and using the command "Show package contents" from the pop-up menu. In the window that will open, select the folder "Masters" and browse the contents. You need to find the subfolder with the year you imported the images, then the folders with the month and the day.
Are your original files still there?
If yes, copy them to a folder on your desktop for safe-keeping, and then try, if repairing the permissions and the other Furst Aid tools will help Aperture to connect to these missing files again - see this link: Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
If the First Aid Tools don't help, then check, if Aperture has moved the missing images to a "recovered folder". If not, reimport the images, you saved to your Desktop and use the Lift&Stamp tool to transfer any adjustment and captions to your reimported images. -

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? I cannot update my iPad and notes it cannot be updated due to unknown error (6). I have not yet updated my Macbook to Yosemite (which I do not intend to do so yet) so would this be the problem and if so, how can I update the iPad?

Those aren't apps; they're bookmarks to websites. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If all else fails, you can just re-do the shortcuts.

You can default Firefox to a larger zoom level to avoid having to zoom every page. You'll still be able to adjust the size for individual sites as needed. It sounds as though you are aware of these add-ons:

There are some discussions about changing coming in Firefox 22 (I think) to address higher density displays like the Retina display. So perhaps there will be a built-in setting to address this in the future. -
