i have lost my system preferences and app store in my macbook pro osx leopard. i want to upgrade. i can't. i have been trying. where or how can i get it back. i am in foreign country. there is no apple store here.

This was the scenario:
The first time I updated, it was only my music that was lost.
When I got my music back, I lost my apps.
When I got my apps back, my contacts, notes and photos were lost.
Now I got back everything except for my photos.
(Yes, I restored from backup several times since the first update.)
Do you think if I try restoring from back up, my photos that were taken from my ipod will be restored finally?

The iDisk was part ot the MobileMe service, which terminated a year ago after many warning notices and emails. Any data stored on your iDisk online has been deleted and there is no way of retrieving it.
If you were using 'iDisk syncing' you might still have had the 'local copy' on your Desktop, though it would be purely local and would not have been able to sync with the server.
If this was the case you might have the disk image which formed the local copy, located in (user)/Library/Filesync if I remember correctly. If you can locate and open this then your data should still be in it. If you can't, then I'm afraid it is lost.

If you didn't use Sync or can't access your account, someone with access to your old computer could email you your bookmarks. Could they drill down into a hidden folder on the system, zip a file, and mail that to you? Etc.

All of your apps should be in iTunes on the computer, simply sync them back.
If they are not, go into the purchase history and download them again.

Check the papers that came with your PC or the web site of the vendor. OEM versions are either on the recovery discs they provide or can be downloaded from their site.

Another way is to open your Time Machine back up or clone (if you have one) and copy the App Store app from the /Applications to your Macintosh HD's /Application folder.
Right click on the Time Machine icon in the Menu Bar.
Select Enter Time Machine; then navigate to a date you know it was still there and copy if from the /Applications folder.

I'm not sure what blog platform you use, but I've noticed that WordPress auto-saves for me at regular intervals. If yours doesn't do that, you should definitely see about getting it set up.

You can't transfer movies unless you sync the device which stores them to iTunes. Don't delete movies on your device which you haven't backed up to your computer, because you'll have to pay for them again to get 'em back.
