    Hi kwalker08865,
It would appear that the most recent version of Safari that is compatible with OS X 10.5.8 would be Safari 5.0.6. If this would meet your needs, you can find more information and a download link on the following page:
    Safari 5.0.6 for Leopard

I have a mac OSX version 10.5.8 How can I increase it to 10.6.8 or better?

You will need to purchase the DVD from Apple to upgrade to Snow Leopard. All upgrades after that (if required) will need Snow Leopard be installed first. Check the link below for requirements and ordering info.

  • Just updated to Firefox 4.0 and can't download former 3.6 version as suggested by others...what can I do since I have Mac OSX 10.4.11 and can't download older Firefox version?

When I went to the website suggested in the forum to download the older 3.6 version of Firefox, there was nowhere I could click to download this older version. Firefox recommends and had a place to click on downloading 4.0. How can I get the best of both without having to upgrade my Mac OSX? Please send me a reply ASAP! Thanks!

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5. You can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • HT1338 Still have os x 10.5.8  How do I update to a newer version to run new itunes.  And is it safe

Can I safely update to a newer version and if so which one.  I currently am running os x 10.5.8 and can not load the new itunes for my sons new ipad mini.  Don't want to mess up my computer by trying to download something that I can't

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is once again available from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • HT4623 My iPad does not have software update in settings? What can I do to get iOS 6?

My iPad does not have software update in settings, what can I do to download iOS 6?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623
If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.

  • HT1338 I have Mac OS 10.6.8, I can update to which next OS?

Which is the best OS update for my Mac with Mac OS 10.6.8?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You have a Mid 2010 MacBook, which supports Mountain Lion.
First of all, if you are happy with Snow Leopard, keep it. You shouldn't have any problem upgrading, but there are a lot of applications that don't work in Lion and Mountain Lion, so it's important to check that they are supported before upgrading > http://www.roaringapps.com
If you have decided to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion, open the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. While it's being downloaded, make a backup of your files. When the download finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will appear, so follow the steps to upgrade to Mountain Lion

  • My icloud songs have disappeared off of my laptop, what can i do to get them back?

I just set up a new windows laptop, when i downloaded the new itunes it had all of my songs on which were from my icloud account. I then plugged in my iphone 5 to the laptop and pressed sync. The music that had been on my itunes was then all delted and replaced with the few songs that i had on my iphone from before i had synced it to the laptop. Is there anyway i can get the library content back or will i be stuck with the songs that i have on my phone at the moment and not be able to get the music back?

  • ITunes Store appears blank on Mac ( with the newest update) What Can I do to get it to re-load? I've tried so many things!

I've updated my iTunes to newest version ( 11.1.3 (8)) all my songs and movies and TV shows are present and easily accessible like usual. When I want to go buy anything from the iTunes store, it shows up completely blank. I can only access my iTunes account information for payments but I can't get to any screen where I can buy movies, tvs, movies etc.
So far I have deleted itunes and re-installed it. I also reset safari settings ( as I've seen as a suggestion on other discussion boards) but neither of these actions helped at all!
If anyone has ANY suggestions I'd be greatly appreciative because this is super frustrating!!!!
    -Robin

The iTunes store is pretty much just a website in iTunes.  It relies on certain components that get installed with safari.  If safari is outdated, the iTunes store won't work.
    Glad that helped.

  • HT1459 I have tried several times to restore my i pod and it will stop in the middle of the process and not finish the restoration. Please help!!!

    help with restoring i pod

    Hey lvince,
I found some information about encountering issues when trying to restore your iPod. These are for people getting a "An unknown error has occurred" error message, but the recommendations should still apply even if you're not getting that error:
To troubleshoot this issue, try the following solutions in this order:
Disconnect and reconnect your iPod to iTunes, and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
Restart your computer and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
Try connecting your iPod to a different USB port, and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again. Connecting to a USB 2.0 port is recommended. For Windows computers, refer to Identifying USB 2.0 ports on your computer for instructions.
Remove any USB devices not manufactured by Apple that you have connected to your computer (it is not necessary to remove your keyboard or mouse). Then, attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
Update to the latest version of iTunes, and then attempt to restore or update the iPod again.
Try to restore or update the iPod again using a different user account for your computer. For example, create a new test user account on the computer with admin rights, and with iTunes installed, try to restore/update the iPod. For instructions on how to do this, follow steps under the heading "Restore using a new user account" in this article.
Try disabling Disk Use on your iPod and attempt to restore or update the iPod again. If that doesn't work, try enabling Disk Use on your iPod and attempt to restore/update. Refer to Putting iPod into Disk Mode for instructions.
If using a Windows PC to restore or update your iPod, try to reregister ".dll" files as described under "Solution 1" in iTunes displays -50 error message when syncing iPod on Windows XP
If using a Windows PC, try to update or reinstall your Windows USB drivers, referring to the section titled "iPod only: Updating, or in some cases reinstalling, the drivers for your computer's USB interface may resolve this issue."

  • My headphones have stopped working and I'm still under warranty but I've lost my reciept. But I still have the box to them. What can I do to get a replacement? Also I've only have had them since December

One of my headphone stopped working then the other one. From the question I was wondering if this matter could be resolved?

I've had Dell, HP, Gateway, IBM, Compaq, Lenova, and other computer manufacturer's send replacement drives to users as warranty replacements.  They normally take your credit card number so they can charge you if you don't return the defective part by a certain date.  I can't understand why Toshiba is so **bleep** about this.  I don't blame you for not wanting to send in your laptop to have the hard drive replaced under warranty.  Just get a Western Digital Scorpio Blue from Newegg, ZipZoomFly, or some other reputable online reseller and replace it yourself.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.
