HT1338 I have unsuccessfully tried for a month to fix phone is disabled I have tried everything I have 2 iPhones with 2 separate phone numbers my tablet and 1st phone works perfectly this other phone is totally disabled only screen says for emergency call
Every thing I have seen or heard to fix this unable to non disable phone can't get in except for emergency calls in order to get to go to try anything. Please advise what to. I am not a computer geru but I can generally fix problems this I can't. THANKYOU to anyone with any simple solution. I have ipad and 2 iPhones 2 work the third will not due to diable find my iphone says offline.

Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks -

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first... -

I need to restore my iPhone. Once in iTunes, I get an error message asking me to use my passowrd to unlock phone. The problem is that I can't get to the password lock screen. All I can get is the iTunes screen or the emergency call only screen.
yes did you buy it of somebody or a well known company such as apple or carphone warehouse?
and i mean the phone would have been activated in the first place with the sim card you get given when you first get the phone.

A relative synced my iphone with his laptop without me knowing. It had a passcode on the phone but the sync still worked. I have since found out he is quite IT knowledgeable and has been known to track other peoples phones that he wants to know information about. How is my data useful to him and can he restore this data on another iPhone and run it parallel to mine? I have had people send me messages which I have not received. These have been screen shot to me later including time and I have just not got them. I had 4 weeks worth of messages go missing from my phone..I know that he synced my phone because his work laptops I'd came up in my settings. Also if the above can be done can he change the settings on my actual phone and access my location without placing tracking software on my phone. Can someone please help here as I can't restore a backup to my phone for obvious reasons and refuse to change my number because of this loser.
Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.

My iphone 6 connects to the car via bluetooth, the music works good, but the phone calls does not work. It looks like it is working but doesn't. I have tried in my Hyundai Sonata and a Dodge Dart rent car and get the same results. I updated the last 8.0.2. It worked the first day i had the phone, and then i updated to Ios 8.0.2 and it quit working.
Now when i get in the car, it acts like it is connected and makes the same call it was on after syncing to bluetooth, but it really isn't on a call. This is happening on both cars.
Does anyone know if this is the phone and i need to take it to Apple or if there is an issue that Apple is working on getting a fix for?
My son in law has the exact same phone as me, we both got the on 10/6, he had a Dodge Dart and his is working via bluetooth.
Someone HELP please, as i consider this a safety issue by not having my calls go to bluetooth.We had the same problem, but figure out the solution.
You MUST have at least 1 song added to your ITUNE! After you add a free song, then everything else should work as normal!

I recently did the iOS 7.0.2 update, now I'm unable to purchase apps. "App could not be purchased at this time. Please try again later. ". I have tried a few of the suggestions and nothing has worked. Reset,change auto lock time on main screen, change language setting. Now what???
This sorted it for me:
Backup your iPhone to iCloud (I believe backing up to iTunes will work too). Now go to "Settings --> General --> Reset --> Erase All Content and Settings" to completely restore your iPhone to factory settings. Assuming you've backed up to iCloud, you'll be asked when setting up your iPhone if you want to restore from an iCloud backup. Choose that option and once your iPhone has restored itself from your backup, this annoying problem will finally be gone! (was for me anyway).
To restore from an iTunes backup, connect your iPhone to your computer, load iTunes. Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up. -

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.

I had been having trouble syncing my iPhone to my Mac computer.
One day, after i installed Leopard, i plugged my phone into my computer.
Normally what happens is iTunes and iPhoto pop up and my phones little logo comes up in each application. But, what actually happened was only iPhoto came up, so i was confused.
I opened up iTunes, but the phone still wasn't showing up. It also wasn't syncing with iCal either. So i had been reading articles on problems with the iphone and i hadn't found anything, so i went to my schools tech guy and he as a iphone and a mac too, so we plugged my phone into his computer, and what do you know, it showed up in HIS itunes. I unplugged my phone from his computer and noticed i had no service. So i waited like 15 minutes and nothing changed, so i shut my phone off and turned it back on, and this weird screen came up. Its like a picture of the plug and a arrow pointing to the itunes logo, still saying i have no service, and only letting me make emergency calls. i plugged it into my computer and nothing happened. what do i do!?I have the same problem. iTunes says There was a problem downloading the iPhone software for the iPone "XXXXXX". The requested resource was not found.

OK, well, I do understand the accuracy issue. My problem is that I can't get it to show as a device to find. I've tried all sorts of things including deleting and re enabling my Mobile Me account and then thought maybe it just didn't work on the wi-fi model. Since you say it does, I'm stumped as to why I can't get it to show up.
I've spent so much time trying to get it recognized that I was almost hoping you'd tell me it wouldn't work with wi-fi only so I could let it go. Now I have to get back at it to "solve" the mystery at least.

Sounds like your iPhone is locked to the wireless carrier you used
in Bahrain. Contact that wireless carrier to see if they offer unlocking
and if you qualify. Only the carrier to which the iPhone is locked
can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Remember that the warranty is not international. You will have to
return the iPhone to Bahrain for repair/replacement if it needs service. -

If you mean your iPad got stepped on and the screen physically broke, I think it extremely unlikely that Apple will replace it again for free. They weren't obligated to do so the first time, as apparently they did, and almost certainly not going to do so twice.
Sorry, but I think you'll just have to live without your iPad until such time as you can save up enough money to pay for repairs. There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less than Apple's replacement charge, though I can't say with certainty. Do a web search for "ipad repair".

My husbands ipad2 64gb 3G the screen keeps freezing. What ever you are working on stops after about 2 minutes the screen freezes and after another few moments you are required to put you password in again. It only started this morning and had been working perfectly until today. I purchased from eBay three weeks ago. If watching bbc new you can only watch for 2 minutes and same for video and games. Keeps coming back to screen saver where all icons are. Sometimes we are to use the on off button to get it going again. I set it up the same as my own iPad 32gb. Hope you can help? Thanks.
Spilled water without flavorings and especially without sugar is something from which your computer may recover. The best thing to do is to shut off as quickly as possible and remove the battery pack. Place the computer in a sunny window with the lid open to promote evaporation of the water. On top of a refrigerator is also a warm perch that'll promote drying. It is difficult to say exactly how long it takes to dry the computer; that depends on ambient temperature and humidity, and how how water is in there.
The biggest threat from the water is corrosion of metal parts, so drying quickly is a must. Also, water can form mineral salt deposits that can grow conductive dendrites between adjacent traces on printed circuit boards. The formation of dendrites is aggravated if you apply power before the machine is dried out. The worst damage would be if water managed to get in the breather hole of the hard drive - luckily, the way the drive is mounted, that would be fairly unlikely.
