I have installed the updates for my HP Photosmart All-in-One c309a. It prints, but will not scan. Tells me to update - I did that, but still won't scan. Any suggestions to make the scanner work?
This all worked perfectly with my old 2008 MacBook Pro.
Have you tried scanning from Image Capture or Preview?
A current driver is shown to be available for Mavericks (auto-downloaded):

But many people have found that manufacturer scanning control software doesn't work. They have to use the Apple-provided software.

Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content. -

Call Apple Care. You are still under warranty. You also have 14 days from the date of purchase to return your iPod with no questions asked.
Take FULL advantage of your warranty. Posting on a message board should be done as a last resort and if you are out of warranty or Apple Care has expired. -

First and foremost, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. In any case, and since you seem to be in the process of updating (you should have done so a while ago, since Firefox 2.0 has been discontinued years ago, I believe), your problems may exist because you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). Since apple replaced my dead IPad2 I can not email photos. I didn't know that no one was receiving them until today. How can I fix this?
I don't understand the ONE AT A TIME lament, as it's pretty easy to email more than one at a time. Have you tried to and been unable or didn't know that you could?
As for no one receiving, well .... first, review how you're trying to do it and, as a check, email some to yourself. That will be a good first check. -

Are you referring to the 3-letter ".jpg" extension being deleted? You can't do that, of course! If that is still the case, you'll have to add it manually to each JPEG file. -

I have several pics in my iphoto library that have shown up in my folders with the original photo laid underneath it. How do I seperate them?

Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
With the back up? Nothing unless things get worse after the fix. If they do, restore from the back up.

We were given this iPod touch from a friend. Here is what I have done so far. Reset it back to factor settings. Added my music. Set up the wifi through my home internet. And it keeps telling me that it cannot connect to iTunes. Don't know what else to do. Have tried to look on this community for answers and haven't found ones that I haven't tried yet. I did see somewhere where there was an update for the iPod touch. It was 4.95 on the iTunes store. Wondered if that might help. Don't want to pay for something that won't work. Thanks!

The pop-up window states Error: Syntax error. This happens on almost every page that I load. It's also happening on my windows xp laptop... and it seems that it has something to do with the most recent Microsoft updates that just went through.

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again.
How are you charging it? its's best charged plugged into the wall not via USB. So if you're trying via USB, try using the supplied power block plugged into the wall. -
I updated my iPhone 4 a few weeks ago to iOS 7. Ever since I did that I cannot send or receive iMessages. How can I fix this???
Try powering the iPhone off and back on. If that doesn't help, go to Settings -> General -> Reset and reset the Network Settings. Reports are that one of those two steps have cured problems with iMessages for many people.

When I open the Photos app, and I see all the thumbnails of the photos I have taken, I see the filters on the photos that should have filters. For some reason, when I enlarge a photo with a filter to full screen, the filter is removed. But when I go back to the thumbnails, the filter is restored. How can I fix this?
