I lost my iphone and my macbook pro does not show the icloud in system pref. how do i get icloud on my mac?

iCloud is only available in Lion, 10.7. You will have to upgrade to Lion in order to get into iCloud. If you transfered a .mac or .me address to iCloud through mobile me, or you have another device iCloud enabled, then you can log into the iCloud.com website.

  • My Macbook Pro does not show up on my TV.

How do I make my Macbook Pro show up on my 40 inch Samsung HD TV if I have tried everything in the Help menu in Displays in System Settings?
I restarted, tried every resolution, gathered windows, detected displays, and everything but my Mac still does not show up on my TV.
I have also tried to change the settings for my TV but still it says that there is no signal.
I used a Belkin mini adapter to HDMI and I also used the Dynex version. It used to work fine once but it does not work anymore.

If the same MBP using the same connections to the same TV with the same settings on both the MBP and TV used to work, it appears there is a hardware problem. You might want to try a different TV or different MBP or different connectors.

  • I am trying to connect to a network using a Linksys PLEBR10 usb "powerline" device.  My MacBook Pro does not "see" the device.  Anyone have a solution?

I am trying to connect a MacBook Pro to a network using a Linksys PLEBR10 USB ethernet adapter.  The MacBook does not recognize the USB device nor the network behind it.
    Anyone have a solution?

  • After updating iTunes and rebooting MacBook Pro does not reboot.

So after installing the update of the new iTunes the system needed to reboot. Screen remains black, battery is full and even with connection to the power network. When pressing the power button you hear the system starts working but stops after unpressing the power button. Also no sound of any HDD or other lights start working (apart from the green power light on the battery at the back / power network) Also the small white light next to the screen opener just goes on for 3 seconds or something. My MacBook Pro is from October 2008 and had further all available updates and 4GB of RAM. Anyone a solution?
    Thanks in advance

  • Just bought a PNY flash drive and my macbook pro does not read it. Any suggestions?

Have used other drives on my macbook pro and they work fine. Just bought a PNY 32gb flash drive and my mac does not read eat. Any suggestions?

does the some thing happen wiht other flash drives? If it's isolated to just that flash drive then you need to contact PNY for support.

  • My MacBook Pro does not pass the startup grey screen. When I try to do a reinstall the computer doesn't even read the disk. I can't even boot in safe mode. I'm being told that it MAY be a motherboard issue, I'm just wondering has anyone else had this prob

I don't know what is wrong with my Mac. An authorized retailer can't pinpoint the issue.. Does Apple have a recall for motherboard failures? We have only had it for 2 years.

    MimiBrooks,
try booting your MacBook Pro into Recovery mode by holding down a Command key and the R key as it starts up. Once the Mac OS X Utilities menu appears, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get past the grey startup screen now?

  • Macbook Pro does not show up on ATV 2

Have installed ATV 2 - connected to TV with HDMI cable. Appears to connect with Airport Extreme in other room where Macbook Pro is located.
However, while I turned on Home Sharing on the Macbook Pro and also on the ATV 2, they aren't finding one another.
Tried to change name of laptop to my @me.com address, but syntax won't work.
What do I need to do?

have you tried disabling home sharing. then re-enable it, but BEFORE you press done to exit the home sharing screen check the apple tv and see if it shows up. It seems to have temporarily solved my issue and many others on this board. The worst Apple product rollout ever.

  • My MacBook Pro does not respond to keyboard or trackpad.  What do I do?

For no reason I can think of, my mid 2012 Macbook Pro (Retina) has stopped responding to its keyboard and trackpad.  (USB keyboard and mouse work fine.)  According to the Trackpad panel in the system Prefs, no trackpad is found.

If resetting SMC -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 doesn't help, you may have to take your rMBP to your local Apple Store/AASP for diagnosis.

  • My facetime is missing from my macbook pro, does not show up in applications folder or when i type it into the spotlight search bar. Why?

    Please help!

You say you are running Mac OS X 10.6.8, that does not come with FaceTime preinstalled. To confirm this, open  > About this Mac, and tell us which OS X version you have.
If it's 10.6.x, open the Mac App Store and purchase FaceTime, or upgrade to a newer OS X version

  • My macbook pro does not remember the dates of when I saved files

I have had my macbook pro since late may of 2010, but I recently noticed it has not been remembering the day I saved files. It claims that every file was saved, or last opened on 5/1/2010. How can I make it so my computer remembers the dates of when everything was saved?

Is the clock showing the correct time. Check in System preferences > Date & Time to see how you have this set up. It may be that you are connecting (or trying to connect) to an online time server that is not right. Do you have to reset the time?  Also, are you having any problems with the battery?  I am not sure if this MacBook Pro has a separate battery for the clock, but  if that were defective that may cause symptoms like this.

  • I trying to backup movies that I have purchase from Iturnes onto a cd and my Macbook pro does not recognize any of the CD or DVDs that I tried,  nothing seems to work can I back up to a external hard drive?

I am trying to backup the movies and TV show that I purchase from Itunes onto a cd or DVD, and nothing seems to work.  I tried using CD-R, CD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW and they all failed. Is it possible to back up to an external hard drive instead of a CD?
    Tyler

I know this isn't a complete answer because I am not sure why or if your backups to CD/DVD are not working, but one thing I do know is yes you indeed can backup any of your iTunes Media (music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc.) to an external hard drive. In fact, it's recommended that you do this anyway (in case of a hard drive crash, computer being stolen, etc.)
You can manually back up your movies by finding them in your iTunes Media folder, or since you have a Mac you can just use Time Machine, which will automatically back up either your entire computer (or only certain folders and items if you want). It's pretty handy. I use a 1TB external and Time Machine to keep everything backed up including my iTunes

  • After ios 7.1.2 upgrade on iPhone 4S, my MacBook Pro does not recognize any photos to upload

My computer recognizes my phone, yet continues to state that there are no photos!

    Try lauch iTunes.
    Then connect the Phone/iPad
When it asks you to trust it, say yes.
    Then try import.

  • ICloud sync with MacBook Pro does not work

I've installed iOS 5, updated Lion to 10.7.2, marked Calendar and Contacts sync in System settings for iCloud on my Mac. However iCal and Address Book sync between iCloud and Mac (MacBook Pro) does not work though there is no problem in syncing between iCloud and iPhone. Whether I create new event or contact, change existing one or delete existing one in iCloud this change is not reflected on my Mac and vise versa. I could not find a solution in this site or in forums.

Yep, worked for me, too and now contacts and calendar seem to be syncing perfectly.  We'll see if it lasts.
    Thanks for your answer.
