HT1338 iphoto is not working

iphoto is not working

Why did you call Zeobit support for iPhoto? It's an Apple product.
Zeobit are the perpetrators of the near-malware MacKeeper which will certainly screw your system for you.
If you're going to uninstall anything it should be MacKeeper.
If you've uninstalled iPhoto you'll have to reinstall it from your original grey disc 2.
Frankly if you've been using MacKeeper I'd do a full erase and install and restore only your data and Apple applications.
Renew your third-party software from the original sources (assuming you kept the eMail receipts for any paid ones)

  • IPhoto is not working in my 5s. What should I do

Changed my phone from 4s to 5s and now iPhoto is not working. When I open it it says" the photo library of this device is updating"

Have you restarted your iPhone?  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702
    Restart the app
Close the app and open it again.
    Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
If that does not help, reinstall iPhoto - that fixed the same problem for me, but that will delete the iPhoto library, so your journals and slideshows will be lost. You may want to make a backup of your iPhone before you try that.
    Reinstall the app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it. Remember that deleting an app also deletes its data.
    Delete the app.
    Press the Home button.
Go to the App Store and download the app again.
Wait for the app to download, then open it from the Home screen.
If the download stops, you can resume it.
If even reinstalling iPhoto does not help, restore your iPhone:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281

  • Iphoto will not work after uploading yosemite

After uploading the Yosemite upgrade. The iPhoto will not work. I have done what the software recommends. I have deleted the app and reloaded it. I get the same message. The message that i get is:
your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable.
shut down and restart your computer and then open iPhoto again. if the problem persists. try rebuilding your photo library. to do this quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the option and command keys pressed. you can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • My Iphoto does not work properly, after downloading Mavericks.  How can I fix it ?  loading Mavericks

My Iphoto does not work properly after downloading Maverick. How can I fix it ?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you mean by not working properly? Explain in detail.
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Recently upgraded to Maverick and the version of iphoto does not work with it.  How do I get and download the version 11?    I can't find it anywhere

Which iPhoto? 9.4.6  and 9.5.1 work here.
FWIW, iLife '11 is available here: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MC623Z-A-iLife-VERSION/dp/B003XKRZES

  • Upgraded my iMac to the new OS X Mavericks now iPhoto will not work.

I up graded my imac to OS X Mavericks now my iphoto will not work, it says there is an upgrade for iphoto available but will not let me upgrade with my apple id, can i delet iphoto and reinstall it with my apple id without loosing all my photos it was working fine till the OS upgrade.

1 - the iPhoto application and the iPhoto library (where you pictures are stored) are separate
2 - deleting the iPhoto application will not help
3 - if you log into the App store using the Apple ID that was used to install iPhoto  (or set up the computer) you should be able to upgrade the application
4 - Apple ID issues can not be solved here  - contact the App store support - link is on the right of the App store window

  • My iphoto is not working, what should I do?

Hello, my iphoto is not working, i´ve tried everything that my mac ask for but it still isn´t working.

    Yvette,
please tell as in more detail, in what way iPhoto is not working. So it is hard to guess, what might be going on.
First of all - what version of iPhoto. and what version of the Operating System?
In what way does it not work? Does it not launch? Does it crash? Unexpected results?
    Are there any error messages?
Is this a new problem or your first try at running and installing iPhoto?
What were you doing, when the problem started? Importing photos? Upgrading the program?
Have tried anything already to troubleshoot the problem?
    Regards

  • My iPhoto is not working, it says this when i open it "Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable"

My iPhoto is not working, it give me the message i listed in the question. help me fix it so i don't lose all my photos!!

so i don't lose all my photos!!
    Make a back up now.
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
    Then:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. • HT204308 Did software update today and now iPhoto is not working.  I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

Did software update today and now IPhoto is not working.  Operating system is OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

What OS X version did you upgrade from? What iPhoto version did you have before upgrading? You cannot upgrade a version of iPhoto from a pre-10.10.2 OS X version installation. You needed iPhoto 9.6.1.

  • IPhoto is not working in 10.9

Updated my iMac to Mavericks.  iPhoto is not working.  Not able to update iPhoto.  Need help.

The App Store thinks these apps belong to someone else.
This can happen for a number of reasons:
    1. You set up the Mac with one ID and now you're using another. Solution: log in with the one you used to set up the machine.
    2. You bought the machine 2nd hand, or as an open box, or the vendor set up the machine for you. Solution: Go back to the vendor and get them to sort it out.
    3. The software is pirated. Solution: trash it and buy the app.
Other than that: Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

my iPhoto will not work with Yosemite, and it says that it was purchased under a different account, but that's not the case.  Any ideas why I cannot update iPhoto?

How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your computer with Lion or later, or did it come with Snowleopard on system installer disks?
    Which version of iPhoto?
If you have a version of iPhoto '11 and it is showing on the Purchased tab of the App Store, with your Apple ID, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder  (don't empty the Trash) and download iPhoto again from the Purchased tab.
If that does not work, contact The App Store Support  from the Quick Links on the AppStore main page.
Only apple Support can fix problems with apple ID.
