HT1338 my email address is wrong in my iCloud app and I can't seem to correct it, why?

I am having the same problem as the personal who asked the original question. I think they left out a bit of information. I am extremely frustrated. I just downloaded ios7. I want to utilize icloud. It has an email address for me which shows a gmail account instead of a hotmail account. It's incorrect, but icloud wants me to verify that account. It is not my Apple ID, but an incorrect variation of my Apple ID. iCloud is waiting for me to verify that account, which I cannot do because it does not exist in this or any other universe. I tried to delete the account from my iphone, but guess what? they want me to sign in with my incorrect email address and password to delete the account. How in the world do I get icloud to allow me to enter my apple id email address ? IAt looks like a terrible glitch and all I want to do is be able to use the Find My Phone feature. Help!!!! Not sure what I did, but my email address has shown up on my background. I can't move it to the side, or delete it. I can drag a box around it, as if it is in a text box? But I can't delete it. I can't highlight it either. It's like a ghost:) It just sits there unaccessible.

Your Desktop?
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plists to your desktop.
Re-launch Finder by restarting and test. If it works okay, delete the plists from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plists to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Recently changed my email provider. However, Calendar continues to try to send alerts to my old email provider. I have not found any way to tell Calendar to use the correct email address. I have chained iCloud, AppleID, and local email settings.

I recently switched ISPs, so now I have a new email address. I've updated mail, can send and receive successfully, recreated my iCloud account, and made sure my Contacts entry was correct. But Calendar's alert function stubbornly tries to send email to my old email address. I haven't found any way to change the list of email addresses that Calendar uses. This is the Calendar desktop app, not iCal. Any tips would be appreciated.

First go here - https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and login under the manage tab. Check your information and be sure it is all correct.
An AppleID is nothing more than an email address, so if you see another email address in the store, then someone has logged in with a different AppleID than yours. Did you let someone else use your iPhone?

Go to Settings, iTunes & App Stores, click on the Apple ID. Sign out. Click again and sign in with your Apple ID.

Is it possible that the person who sent the message to your phone sent it to your phone # instead? Try sending a message to your phone via the email address and see if it shows up on the iPad.

When I try to use FaceTime on my Macbook Air, I try to verify the email I want people to call me with, and it says verified, but soon an message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."

So our school lets us use Macbook Airs for the school year, and it has facetime on it. I know facetime isn't blocked because like everyone else is using it. So I decide to give it a try. I click the icon, it says enter your apple ID. I dont have one, so I click to make one, and do so. I then enter my apple ID and click next. The screen reads "People will call you using your email address. What email address would you like to use?" I enter my email address in the box below the message, and then go to my email and click the link, and sign in, thus verifying the email. I go back to the facetime window, and click next. At the top it says Verified, but when I click next it doesn't go on to the next step, it simply blacks out the next button so that I can not click it, and after a few minutes a message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
So that is the issue, please help!!!!!

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

I recently updated my primary email address associated with my Apple ID account.
Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Did you change the email for the Apple ID or did you create a new Apple ID? A new Apple ID cannot be used with content that was bought using a different Apple ID.

Yes it will, just sign out, then sign back in with the correct address.
Settings>iCloud>Sign Out.

Now I do want to let you know that your phone has a "main" gmail account. If this "main" gmail account was the one you deleted it may be best that you reset your phone and activate it to your new gmail address.
The reason I recommend doing this is all of your purchased application information is also tied to your gmail.
