Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Cannot connect to the itunes store. Just downloaded the new version.

    i just downloaded the new version of itunes and cannot access the itunes store. I have seen other comments that other users have posted and they have had the same issues. i am hoping that it will start working within the next few days as other users have said. if anyone knows of any other suggestions as to what can do to fix this please let me know. i have already tried the suggestions that this website has given me and nothing works. if someone can please tell me if this has happened to them and if their itunes store is now working!!?? and how long did it take to start working again????

    Unfortunately I have experienced the same thing, what possessed me to upgrade when the older version worked just fine I will never know. Apple instructions are great if you can understand what they are talking about...is there an itunes for dummies out there??
    Having said all that, I ended up restoring my system under accessories, trying to go back to before the upgrade, but don't think I went back far enough. Am not quite sure when I actually made the upgrade and I could only go back a few days. But what did happen was I no longer got the "unable to connect to the store" message, I am connecting, but I have no pictures. The top part of the screen is all blacked out as is any place there is supposed to be a picture.
    I also cannot listen to anything, nothing happens if I click on a song. I haven't tried to buy anything, so not sure if that works or not.
    Any ideas?
    I was dismayed to see that the previous posts were from the first part of March and it is now April. I as a new upgrader still ended up with similar problems. Doesn't Apple fix any of this stuff in a timely manner? A month is plenty of time to find a patch to take care of this.

    Before you go to the effort to downgrade, go to the small icon with the arrow at the extreme upper left and select "Show Menu Bar":
    Then from the View menu select "Show Sidebar" and "Show Status Bar". That may alleviate some if not all your complaints. If not, you can download iTunes 10.7 here:

  • How do I get songs downloaded from CD's on an older version of iTunes from my phone to the new version of iTunes to the new version of iTunes downloaded on a new computer? Thank you for any help!

    I have authorized my new computer and all the songs that I have purchased through iTunes have transferred to my new iTunes version, as have the apps., only the songs from CD's have not transferred. I am a pretty new user to the iPhone and iTunes and do not want to lose the music that I transferred from CD's but do need to update my phone.
    Does authorizing my new computer allow the CD songs to transfer into my music list with the purchased songs if I continue to update and sync my phone?
    Any advice or assistance is greatly appreciated.

    The iphone is not a backup device.  The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
    You need to copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of the old computer to your new one.

    For the original poster (OP), try posing in the iTunes form since now you have an iTunes problem, not an iPod problem.

  • I can use my Ipad and I husband Ipod 5gen with the new version 11 but cannot use MY own Ipod 4th generation.  What can I do.  I try everything written in the help section.

    I upgrade to I Tunes version  11.0 (163) today and since this «upgrade» when I connected my I Pod (4th generation) I tunes open, the screen sayind conected on my I pod is on but my I pod will not synchronysed neither will it appear on the bar or the left column.
    My I Pod work very well, I do not want to change it yet. It was working very well with the previous version of Itunes.
    What can I do?  I try everything written in the help/ support section. (reinitialisation, etc..)

    Just repeating what it says above: "Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5".
    I have OS X 10. 5 but I am sticking with Firefox 3.6.24. The last time I upgraded to Firefox 4, I had to wait 5 minutes for every mouse click to execute.

  • TS1277 I bought a new computer and itunes request me to authorize the new computer.  Howerver it is using an email address I have not had for over 4 years and will not accept my current authorization information.  How do I get it to accept my new computer

    After purchasing a new computer I downloaded itunes and signed in to my account.  Everything was fine including my current email address.  When I connected my iPod and it started to cink, I go a message that the computer had to be authorized our my music would be removed.  When I clicked on the authorize button I got a sign in that had an email address I have not had in almost 3 years.  When I put my current logon and password in itunes would not accept it.  When I clicked help it offered to send help to my old email address which I have not way of accessing.  How do I get my computer to accept my iPod if I cannot enter the current logon and password information?

    We are having this same issue.  We have over 200 songs that are now missing and only our most recent ones show up in our ITunes library.  Fortunately we have one phone that still has all of our music still in tact. This phone is no longer one I will be using as I upgraded to the Iphone 6, and only the most recent purchased songs remain.  The rest are no where to be found and the iTunes store shows that I would need to re-purchase.  Not sure what to do as when I tried to sync my last phone, all the songs were gone.
