New Photo app on Mac.
How can I (automatically) import new photos of the photo stream on my local disc (Mac)? Don't want to use new icloud service. Simply import.
With iPhoto every new photo was automatically imported and saved on my local disk (with "full resolution" that's what I only need). In the new photo app I have still my photo stream and when I move a photo (drag and drop from the photo stream) to a new album it indicates a (plus). My understanding is that the photo is now copied to my local disk. But when I deleted the photo in the photo stream it was also deleted in the album !?
If that is the case I can use the photo stream only until I reach the max of 1.000 photos, then I have to delete photos and I will have no copy left.
How can I "physically" copy a photo of the photo stream to my local disk? I just want to "transfer" all pictures taken with Ipads, Iphones to my central storage on the Mac. Please don't propose to connect it via iTunes (cable) to the Mac.
Any other suggestions?
thx
-Tom

The amazing device cannot do it because no amazing developer has written an app for it. There is some interest, others have asked, but i have a hunch that the market is fairly limited, and no developer has jumped at the chance just yet.
Any sort of tethered approach means try to feed the material to the pad thru the cck. Which means the app would have to use the allowed/existing cck pathway in a manner that does not violate the sandbox rules. That may be the problem.

Open iPhoto and from the Menu Bar... Click on Help... Type in Delete and choose from the Selected Topics.

• Okay I use iPhoto 6 on an older mac and don't want to upgrade past 10.4.11. Can I upgrade iPhoto without the newer operating system? For the life of me I can't get iPhoto to recognize my camera reliably - although it does sometimes. Any advice, help?

The latest version of iPhoto which can operation with OS X 10.4.11 is iPhoto 7 which is part of iLife 08. You might be able to find a copy of iLIfe 08 on Amazon.com or Ebay.com.
iLife 08's full system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 processor
iMovie ’08 requires a Mac computer with an Intel processor, a Power Mac G5 (dual 2.0 GHz or faster), or an iMac G5 (1.9 GHz or faster)
iDVD ’08 requires 733MHz or faster processor
512 MB of RAM; 1 GB recommended; high-definition video requires at least 1 GB of RAM
3 GB of available disk space
DVD drive required for installation

• Why my mac air don't support the dock library version 1.0, if this needs the system mac os x 10.5 or higher, and my is os x 10.7.5?

Why my mac air don't support the dock library version 1.0, if this needs the system mac os x 10.5 or higher, and my is os x 10.7.5?

For Snow Leopard you require version 2.1.4. However AFAIK you can't buy this from Apple any more: the current version requires Lion 10.7.5 at minimum.
Amazon are offering v.2.1.1 in the UK - this is not compatible with Snow Leopard either but you should be able to apply an upgrade to 2.1.4. -
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL913
I can't guarantee this will work. You may be able to get advice in the Aperture forum.
Your only other alternative is to upgrade your Mac to Lion 10.7.5 if it us compatible, and buy the current version.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.

Leave it plugged in for a few hours and try hold both the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. If it takes more than 15 seconds, chances are it won't work.

Purchase a couple of these when they go on sale.
Start burning all the photos onto DVDs.
At least you'll have all your photos if your computer, time machine or any other backup you use goes bonkers.

• HT1338 My Mac Air minimizes my App every ten minutes

My Mac Air automatically minimizes my applications every ten minutes. I believe this is a software glitch, but I could have done something to cause it???

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

• HT1338 my mac air will not turn on

help me get my mac air to turn on

Found this in another post -- it should help, assuming you've tried simply holding the power button for 15 seconds already.
As a first step you could try an SMC reset followed by a PRAM reset:
SMC Reset
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer’s power cord and disconnect peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Reset PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

• HT1420 I need to deauthorise certain devises off my Mac but don't want to deauthorise my Mac. How do I do it?

I have a few devices authorised on my Mac - 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and 2 iPods. However, I cannot download more Apps as my Mac keeps stating that I need to deauthorise some of the devices before I can authorise my Mac. When I try and authorise my Mac, the message that comes back is that the machine is already authorised. How do I deauthorise some of the other devices (especially the one iPad and iPhone) without deauthorising my Mac?

The page that you posted from only applies to computers - iPads, iPhones and iPods aren't authorised, and don't count towards the 5 computer limit.
If you are getting a message about having reached the 5 computer limit then have you had other computers in the past and/or updated or reinstalled the OS on those that you have now without first deauthorising them ? You can safely log into your account and 'deauthorise all' as described on the page that you posted from, that doesn't remove any content from any of the computers, it just means that you need to reauthorise them before you can use of your iTunes downloads on them (you can reauthorise them immediately).
If you are getting a message about the number of associated devices devices then you can manage them individually : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

• How can I turn off the sounds of the firefox? I don't want to turn off my whole computer sounds, but just the sounds which comes from the internet. Is there any master button?

All the websites doesn't allow you to turn off the sounds, but that is just the thing I need to do. So how can I turn off the web browsers sounds? This is so small thing, that I refuse to believe that this kind of button doesn't exits.

In Vista you can set the volume and mute setting for each application separately in the volume mixer.
You can click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar near the clock and click the Mixer link at the bottom to open the mixer.
You can adjust the volume level for each application in that window.
You will only see the Firefox program in the Mixer if you are on a website that plays sound.

• Mac intuitively choosing spelling preferences that I don't want, changing words on me.

My Macbook Air has started intuitively learning and choosing spelling preferences that I have not asked for and do not want, changing words on me. E.g. Every time I type "no" it autocorrects to "not." I have NOT entered this as an autocorrection. I understand and do use autocorrections through System Preference, Language and Text, Text, Symbol & Text Substitutions for some personal abbreviations, but this is something different. There is another word it has chosen to intuitively substitute for me, His for his. Every time I type "his" I get "His"! Perhaps because I have typed "His" often in a context where it was correct, referring to God. But I also want to use it in lowercase and am no longer able to! Driving me nuts... Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks.
P.S. I really don't want to turn off auto-correct; I take notes a lot at college, fast, and rely a lot on the autocorrect feature. I just want it to stop presuming on me when I have not made a mistake!

sorry but i don't think what you want is possible
if it's not doing what you want then you can either have it on and attempt to teach it further, or have it off
using the "His" and "his" as an example, the technology is not at a point yet where it can intelligently decide which should be used so there will always be a time that it uses one when you needed the other
the downside to using the program rather than doing it yourself is that the program can only do what it's been told to do, it can't use "discretion" if what it has been "told" to do is actually wrong
if it really speeds up taking notes you could live with the "corrections" during the conference then fix them yourself afterwards
hope this makes sense
