HT1338 my mac needs updating-currently 10.5.8, but when i click on software update and it searches it says there are no software updates? any help please
I updated my iphone to IOS 6 which means i also need to update my itunes. When i tried to do this it said I need to update software but when I click on software update, it searches and then says no updates available. Can anyone help me please? thankyou very much
10.5.8 is the final version of Leopard. After that you need a paid-for upgrade to Snow Leopard - if your Mac can run it:

Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

I keep getting the message when I open Muse CC, that the latest version is here and that i need to download it... But when i click "Download Latest Version" and it takes me to the applications manager it tell me that Muse is "Up to date"..... I also downloaded a template from Muse and it tells me when I open it that i also need the latest version... Can anyone explain why Iam getting this message and Why I can not up date?... I need to download a video clip called Flip4mac onto my Safari browser, which will then enable me to view it. I cannot see where I access safari preferences on my ipad to do this.

In the Mac, the updater icon told me there were many updates. I had them all install and they did, supposedly successfully. However, after I opened PS, it's still the old version and if I go to Help and click updates, it says I have the lastest version, yet it's still 14.2 What's going on? Thanks.

I had the CC Desktop App tell me there were new versions available and got both Indesign (CC 2014) and Photoshop (CC 2014). Went to start Indesign and got an error: 1. Suggesting I uninstall and then reinstall. The uninstaller in the app folder had lost its alias link to the original uninstall file so I had to manually find it and un-install. Then re-did installation using the CC Desktop app, and now its starting. So I am doing the same with Photoshop now and have tried starting Indesign and it is now working ... So Id suggest check your application folder and look for a folder "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014" and if its not there then you may well have just updated the existing CC application. The 2014 is a totally new install ...

With the Ipod touch it requires 3 x clicking to the touch screen rather than 1 for all interactions. I have updated software, all apps, rebooted and reset but still doing it. Any suggestions very welcome.
All good - as per "Single click on touch screen doesn't work" problem. The VoiceOver under Settings/general/accessibility was set to "on".
When you turn this off, the ipod resorts to one touch instantly. -

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts. This usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons. If still problem, charge your iPhone with Wall Charger for 10 minutes even if it does not show it is charging. Then you should Restore your iPhone with iTunes on computer. Here are simple steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click Restore Button of iTunes.

I purchased Adobe Acrobat (latest version) and installed on my mac.
It worked momentarily and then disappeared from my machine. The mac software is OS X 10.8.2
I have tried to redownload but the Adobe site says the program is installed.
Any help please?

ok so I have not updated my computer in a long time and I go to the apple icon in the upper left hand corner of my computer and click on it and then click on softwear updates and it runs and says there are no updates.
You have to buy the next OS X version. Free updates are only available for the version you have. Since you're posting here, assume you want to upgrade to at least OS X 10.6? Or further?
Call the Apple online store, which in the US is at 800-MY-APPLE, or you can also order online from them too. OS X 10.6 is only available on DVD, not download. Get it, install, do Software Updates until no more are available. Done. You probably already have at least 1GB of memory, and some spare disk space to install it. Of course, backup first.
If you want to upgrade to OS X 10.8, see these requirements to see if your system is able to. Note the minimum memory is 2GB, however, 4GB is recommended. Assuming your system can run Mountain Lion, you can upgrade directly from OS X 10.6 to OS X 10.8. You don't need to upgrade to OS X 10.7 as an interim step. OS X 10.8 is downloadable from the App store.
If you want to upgrade to OS X 10.7, after you upgrade to OS X 10.6, call the online Apple store again to purchase a download code, then download from the App store. -
my Itunes account tells me i need to update it to version 10.6.1, but when I click download and the computer (mac 2007) goes to the "checking for softwares" page it doesn't find the update? Help me please, what do I do?

You need to update to iTunes 10.x. However, to do that you need to ugrade your computer's OS to at least 10,5,8. That is a paid upgrade.

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch.
