HT1338 my mail version 4.6 on my desktop with OSX 10.6.8 is driving me nuts. It won't accept my password on a regular basis. I've tried several times calling Apple and having them reconfigure it to no avail. Any ideas or links? thanks so much

I have one more development to add. In step "4" above I suspected that it could be something to with the Ethernet settings as I hadn't had the option of typing in the colleges wifi credentials. So I tried the "get help online" option to test it, managed to sign in and tried the step 4 again.
This time I received a different error message "could not find installation information for this machine".

I have tried several times to download ISO 5 but it is "coruppt" everytime? any help?
its really beginning to bug me as it a fairly big download...
once it is "complete" it brings up a error message saying that the file was only partially done or was corrupt and to try again...

i was given a macbook 5.1 by my mom, being nice, she erased everything on it, but then could not find the original start up disc. i called apple and had the serial number and said that leopard 10.5 was the operating system that orginally came with it, so i bought it. when i got it,i turned on computer, put in dvd, and immediately shut it off, then turned it back on while pressing letter c. (they told me to do this) i can hear the disc turning but alls i get is blank screen then it shuts down, and restarts. nothing ever shows up on the screen. did i get a wrong disc? should there be something different than just the mac os x leopard 10.5 to get this computer to work again?? thanks for your help!
It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support. The questions should only be asked on the first purchase on a new computer or device, but other people have also posted recently about them being asked when it isn't. If you are being asked them then you will need to answer them before you can purchase.
If you can't remember their answers and you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 . My I phone is frozen and I can't get it to work. I have tried to restore it several times and nothing happens. All it does is show the iTunes logo with the plug and arrow. Is there anything I can do to get it to work I am in sales and need my phone. The closest Apple store is 45 minutes away

I'm trying to Install Dreamweaver CS6 and Installer sticks on both machines at 25% - any ideas?
after some misapprehensions manage to start off the above install however the installer sticks on 25% on both machines (both virtual devices) located in India. The Install hasn't failed yet - but the machines are up to 51 mins / 134 mins and climbing but refuse to go past 25% - any thoughts?

We used to use Firefox..but for whatever reason it stopped opening. We uninstalled it and we found that the old version of Firefox would open but it would straight away update to the new version and then the problems would begin again and it would not open.

MacBook Pro has no sound at all. Called Apple and they said to reinstall OS X.
I have recently discovered that my MacBook Pro has no sound except for the startup chime. I called Apple and they told me to reinstall OS X because something went wrong in the OS. Is there any other way to fix this?
That's a really overly simplistic answer to your problem. Re-installing OS X doesn't always fix every problem. Yes, it might in your case, but it might not. Are you still under warranty? Either way, I'd take it into your local Apple Store and show them the problem and let them fix it. If the system has to be installed anew, so be it. But rule out other problems first.
Before you do anything, make sure that you have a back-up of your data, applications, etc. If you don't already have a back-up scheme, get an external hard drive and use Time Machine to back up your computer. Then take it into the Apple Store.

Can't Print :( have called apple and HP, CUPS problem?
Thankyou very much to anybody who is reading this! In short, My printer will not print from my iMac (brother can print from his laptop). I have called apple and HP and neither one of them could solve the problem. With HP, we have found out that the printer is online and talking to the computer wirelessly. We have tried software up dates, reinstalations, and just about everything HP could think of. They diagnozed that it was a CUPS problem and they were not authorized to help me. I then called apple and they didnt know what to do. Does anyone know what the CUPS problem is? Further more how to fix it? I am very grateful for any ideas! Please help! Feel free to ask any further details you would need to help me!

TristanNEVER use HP software on your iMac. Uninstall ALL of the HP software following HP's instructions for doing so! Next turn off the printer and then restart the iMac in Safe Mode, the Safe Mode restart will clear some caches, it's possible one has become corrupt. Next install the printer on the network following the Network wizard on the front panel of the printer. Once it's on the LAN restart the iMac normally and the printer should be seen. If it isn't then run Software update and see if you have the most up-to-date software Apple provides. Install any updates that are suggested following the on-screen instructions. If you still don't see the printer open System Preferences - Print & FAX and see if the printer is seen in the left hand column. If it is and you still cannot print select the printer in the left hand column and right click it, then select Reset Printing System....
If it still won't install post back with the results you got. Take your time and be methodical.
If you didn't get it the first time NEVER install HP software on your iMac. -
My iTunes suddenly stopped working and doesn't recognize any of my devices and gives me a AMD error. I've tried several times to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall to no avail. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell laptop. It worked fine for years then I decided to update my iPhone 4S and it didn't recognize it or any other iPod or iPad.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
