Need to find out how to get java update for mountain lion not showing up as any update needed in apps store, but program I am using is requiring jave update.

Yup, I'm experiencing the exact same thing.
I (and many others) are experiencing the same or similar issues with the 10.8.3 update.
I've sent an response to Apple but have not yet received anything back (yet).

I have been all through the app store and can't find it. The Java site says the update must come under Apple through the app store.

Go to Applications > Utilities
and double click on
Java Preferences.app
It will ask if you want to install the runtime.

Will I need to update from Mountain Lion (10.8.4) to Mavericks prior to the Yosemite rollout this fall?

I am running Mountain Lion (10.8.4) currently. I rolled back to Mountain Lion from Mavericks back in October 2013 because I was having problems with it. However, I've heard there are improvements to Maverick since my initial install. My question is will I need to update from Mountain Lion to Maverick in order to update to Yosemite this fall? Thanks in advance.

If your goal is to install Yosemite upon its release, I doubt you will need to do it from Mavericks.
If Mountain Lion does not have features you need and Yosemite will, then, as WZZZ suggest, give Yosemite a chance to have any bugs worked out first.
If your concern is security, Mavericks is the current OS but Apple is still providing Security Updates for Lion, so Mountain Lion should still be good to go for a while yet.

I just downloaded the newest update for mountain lion. After downloading any restarting for installation, I got a message stating that the update cannot be installed due to an error. Yet when I check I have version 10..8.3 and safari version 6.0.3, which the update was for. Does this mean that the update is iinstalled and the message was incorrect?

Good timing! Oh well, at least you shouldn't have to update again for a while. It will be nice kickstarting your Mac with the very latest System Update knowing any hiccups from 10.8.2 would have been ironed out if they were going to affect your workflow at all.

Tried to install maverick but app store had 1 update for mountain lion so I installed it.it didn't restarted so I did n then it started installing mountain lion..

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone. You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone. You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account. iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac. When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account. You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar. If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

Since the last software update for mountain lion I am having a problem when moving screenshots to trash. Now a Finder box appears saying finder wants to make changes and I have to enter my password for every action.

Is there a Pages 09 only update for Mountain Lion?

I have downloaded the iWork 9.2 update for Mountain Lion but can't use it as I have Pages 09 but Numbers and Keynote 08 and the update says the 08's are not compatible. I bought Pages 09 from the App store as a stand-alone, so surely I should be able to upgrade it on its own without Numbers and Keynote?

Several problems with Mountain Lion, APP STORE (login/logout error), WIFI(802.11n for 802.11g), MAIL (horrible)... Apple, what is happening?

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

HT5444 Assistance needed to update to Mountain Lion

My Mac is a MacBook Mid 2007, Software is Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
It is compatible to the OS X Mountain Lion system requirements mentioned under the 'System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion' page. However when I try to install it reads the following: "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."
Could anybody assist on how I can update to Mountain Lion and over come this problem?

I'm sure that Apple will continue to provide support for Mountain Lion and other previous versions of their operating system. They have always provided updates for most versions of their software, even though newer versions were released.

Are there no security updates for Mountain Lion?

I was just downloading updates for my wife's 2008 white MacBook and noticed that a Security Update was in the mix. The MacBook is running Lion. While I was doing that I checked my Mac Mini for updates to Mountain Lion. Got notified of 10.8.5 update but no Security Update. Come to think of it, I don't remember ever being notified of a required Security Update for the Mini. Are they just buried in with other OSX system updates and too routine to mention? Just curious.

Non-critical security updates for Mac OS X 10.8 are part of the regular OS updates.
