One of my programmes tells me there is a critical update for my () Office for Mac (office 10) but I seem unable to be able to find anything but Apple on my Apple - how can I update my office for Mac?
I have deayed the latest OS Software update because of this.
I am not a great computer guy - just want to use it. Thanks in anticipation, cheers, smepeter

There are no specific updates for Lion or Mountain Lion. The Office updates are for all OS's.
Go here: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads
Then, click on the version of Office that you have. It will list the updates that are available.
Also click on Additional Tools. Download and install the update for Auto Updater.
Note that Microsoft's updates for Office are usually not cumulative, so you must install them all in order.
The Auto Update app will find the ones you need and install them.
From any Office App, go to the Help menu and select "Check for Updates." It will open the AutoUpdater.
The current version is in /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0

I'd say your sister messed up and your iPod is toasted.
Think about it... She plugged it in to another computer, she doesn't remember what she did (yeah, right), and now your iPod is not being recognized by your computer...
Also take into consideration how old is your sister, and how much does she know about electronics?

For some reason, when my IPad updated the OS it put on an old email address and Apple ID to my ICloud account and now I can no longer participate in the ICloud because I cannot remember my password and have no way of retreiving it because my old email account is closed.

If you know the answers to your security questions, you should be able to change your password without using email authentication (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HE36). If you don't, you may be out of luck.

Did you create a new Apple ID, or simply update the old one?
If you simply updated the old one, then you need to go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, click on the Apple ID, and sign out. Then sign back in with your new ID. Also, you want to go to Settings>iCloud and scroll down to the bottom and delete the iCloud account and sign back onto it with your new Apple ID as well.
If you created a new Apple ID, then there are other considerations. Post back if that is the case.

You need to buy an upgrade if one is compatible with your Mac model.
PowerPC G3 Macs can only go to 10.4.11.
PowerPC G4 and G5 Macs can only go to 10.5.8.
Macs with a Core Solo or Core Duo CPU can only go to 10.6.8.
Core 2 Duo and better Macs can go to 10.7.5 or 10.8.3 depending on their model. Upgrading to either requires going through 10.6.

Why would you remove the SIM?
The SIM is required for activation.
How are you attempting to update? Via iTunes or directly on the device?

I suspect you have the original, 1G iPod touch. Those can only go as high as iOS 3.1.3,
If y ohave a 2G those can go as high as 4.2.1

You only get the Settings > General > Software Update when you have iOS 5+ installed on the iPad - if you are on iOS 4 then you will need to do the next udpate via your computer's iTunes.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
