HT1338 screenshot no longer works

When I take a screenshot in Evernote nothing happens, if I take a screenshot in grab just get a white screenshot.
If I then restart the computer I can again make screenshots for a while, then it stops again. Though this is not always the case sometimes restarting all is the same

Screenshots no longer working (only grey) in 10.6

I had a look at some other posts about this but did not find anybody with this problem.
I recently upgraded to 10.6 and since than screenshots are a bit of a pain. The old keyboard commands still work but if I try to open the screenshot it is grey. If I open it with the ‘Quick Look’ function it is all there and when I paste it to somewhere it is there, but if I open it with Preview it is grey. Any tips tricks or ideas?

I would suggest turning off one of the interfaces to test. Always leave DNS on!
We ran into this when we were running Xsan. Our way around this was to stop Xsan, deactivate the metadata LAN, launch AST to allow it to bind to primary LAN. Then once it acquired the connection, enable your secondary LAN.

Screenshot no longer working

Somehow the sound for the screenshot (command-shift-3) quit working, and then a few hours later, the entire function quit working.
Could I have hit the wrong combination of keys and accidentally turned this off? My volume is working for everything else. Please help!

Use an earlier version of Firefox, use Safari, or upgrade to a later version of OS X. Any Intel Mac can run Snow Leopard.

HT1338 I just uploaded an update to Mountain Lion today mail no longer works

I just uploaded an update to Mountain Lion today mail no longer works.

After I ran theupdate yesterday I got a message that the update did not complete. When I tried to run mail I got a error message that mail could not run. When I rebooted and tried mail again I got the same error. I tried to load the last mail update from the apple store, but could not run it because it was unsigned.

Win-key / PrtScr No Longer Working

I use the Win-key PrtScr-key. It would take a snap shot of my desktop and automatically save it into a folder called //C:USERS\DOUGLAS\PICTURES\SCREENSHOTS. This folder is located in C\Pictures. I used this combination forever, but it just
stopped working. Even just hitting PrtScr alone no longer works. BUT hitting the Win-key and PrtScr-key will copy it to the clipboard, but understand the I want to make a *.png file in my Screenshots Folder.
Just to make sure I'm clear: Whenever I hit Win-key PrtScr-key it would make a snap shot of my desktop and automatically save it in a folder called //Screenshots. This feature no longer works and I use
it daily. Can anyone please help?

That's backwards IME. Win-PrtScn does what you want for me and is what I have always used in W8 to do that. Alt-PrtScn captures the current window to ClipBoard and Ctrl-PrintScrn is the keyboard shortcut which the Snipping Tool uses for
starting its capture. I don't know what Ctrl+Alt+PrtScn would do, probably the same as Alt+PrtScn. PrtScn by itself would capture the entire Display contents to Clipboard, same as ever.
Make sure that you don't have a Shift- key stuck. Use the OSK to check. Then you would be really pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+PrtScn and who knows what that would do? <eg>

Whentrying to uninstall iTunes (the first program that must be uninstalled per the instructions) I get a message: A network error occurred while attempting to read file: C:\Windows|Installer|iTunes.msi. I can't even uninstall iTunes?
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. TripAdvisor no longer works in Maps Suite Guides (...

Hello,
I've noticed on my up to date Nokia 808 Pureview that for a couple of weeks now, the TripAdvisor guide, in the Maps Suite Guides, no longer works.
While other guides like Michelin work correctly, TripAdvisor leads to an error (see attached screenshot).
I'm in France but it seems to be the same in Germany, on any Symbian device (I have tested with a Nokia 5800 and Nokia N8, both up to date).
I believe it's a problem on Nokia's server end ; could you fix it please ?

Due to a ceasing contract that Nokia has with TripAdvisor, the TripAdvisor service for the Maps applications on Symbian platform (concerning Maps 3.03 - Maps 3.09) had to be removed from the service list as of mid June 2013. We apologize for the inconvenience towards our TripAdvisor users.

Control key no longer works after update.

After updating Lion the control key no longer works. It beeps when pressing control and then a number key but nothing happens.
This is left control key though. Right still works?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software -- potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions -- they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are four lines of text in monospaced type, which are UNIX shell commands. They’re harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of running these commands, search this site for other discussions in which they’ve been used without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap in your browser, but each one is really just a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.

Screencapture is no longer working in 10.9.2

I have updated to 10.9.2 and looks like it has broken my image uploading script. It starts with a shell command: > screencapture -i /tmp/last_screen.png It should take a picture of selected area. It works well when I type it in console, or when I press "run" in Automator to test my service. But it doesn't work when I try to run it as service or via hotkey - my cursor doesn't change to area select tool. Also, automator action "take screenshot" is no longer working too.

After update to 6 shortcuts no longer work in message

hello everyone,
I have a peculiar message problem which I noticed right after updating to iOS 6. The shortcuts I used in message no longer work. I checked in settings and they are all still there but they are not active. I have so far tried deleting and re-creating one of the shortcuts, closing and re-launching the message app, and turning my phone off and re-starting it. All to no avail. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and does anyone know of a fix?

This is what I did step by step and it worked like a charm... I had an iPhone 4 when I did this a few days ago. I have documents and data ON in iCloud...
1. write down or take screenshots of all existing shortcuts
2. delete all shortcuts
3. backup to iCloud (I think this clears all shortcuts you have stored in iCloud)
4. go back to settings-->general-->keyboard... You may notice one or a few generic shortcuts pop up on their own. The one that popped up for me was OMW (on my way)
5. re enter all of your shortcuts and phrases
6. when done, back up again to iCloud (stores your new shortcuts)
I restarted my phone. Shortcuts still worked. I just got a 4S and restored from the iCloud backup mentioned in step 6 and my shortcuts worked on my new phone.

Port forwarding no longer working

i recently moved in with my boyfriend and he has fios and before i moved in we played minecraft on a server he hosted and after like a weekof hosting it, his portforwarding no longer worked. after going threw every thing we could find we gave up. and now im wanting to host a server again but i still cant get the port forwarding to work right. ive read every thread, watched every video of ppl with similiar problems but none of it fixes my problem.

Why are my actions no longer working?

I can't understand, trace, or figure out why (haven't made any significant changes lately to my system, app, etc.), but my PSD actions (specifically, ones from PSDCovers.com to do book mockups) are no longer working. When I run Step 2 of the action, it doesn't rotate and align the cover correctly. I've tried everything, and I can't figure out why, or how this happened?

Shortcuts no longer work?

The shortcut feature does not work anymore.
For example, "ily" used to turn into I love you. I also had personal shortcuts programmed that no longer work either. This has been since the last update to 6.0.1.
