What version of iPhoto and system are you using? Are you using iPhoto as the email client or are you going thru Mail?
Go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account.  Close iPhoto, reboot, relaunch iPhoto and add the email account back.

  • How Can I  send iphotos by email to BCCs?

How can I send iPhoto pictures using e mail to BCCs?

Do you have Mail open before you select any photos to email? If you do, and the BCC field doesn't show, you can make it appear by selecting the View>Bcc Address Field option in Mail. Then just enter the recipients in that field, add any message you like in the Body of the email and click 'Send'.

  • I can't send iPhotos in email any longer.

The error message is : Your email did not go through because the server did not reply. It used to work before.

Have you recently enabled two-step verification?
Then you may need to set up an app-specific password for iPhoto.
Other forum members reported, that creating  an app-specific password is required, see the post below:
Re: I am using iPhoto version 9.6 and I can no longer get an email sent with a photo attached. I get an error message saying the email did not go through because the server did not reply. I can send the photo with Mail. Help!in response to Gary Kissler
This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
    https://appleid.apple.com
    Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
    Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).
    And...voila' (I hope)

  • Sending iPhotos by email

Thanks to leonie DF I was able to reinstall my iPhoto in a moment. Thanks again!  Everything is working except for sending and sharing pictures by email. FB component is great.  Just a big screen, no picture, can enter an email, but it goes no place.  LOL!  Certainly not urgent, but I do not want to reinstall again, so any suggestions would be appreciated.  I did check my email that is used, is correct. Before I could see the photos, edit, etc.  Just a dark grey screen.  Thanks again, have a wonderful Sunday! Arizona Gramma

So you can email OK from the new library, right.  Then apply the two fixes below in order as needed to your original library:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Sending iPhotos via email within a proxy environment

I work in a government building were we use a Google Mail account specifically set up for our municipality (in other words, it's not simply "name@gmail").
I want to send photos from iPhoto to other staff, so I select the photo(s) and click Share at lower right, and it opens up Apple's Mail app which we of course, don't (and can't) use. What I've been doing in the interim is downsizing each photo in Photoshop, then attaching them within the Google email app—but this is laborious and time-consuming.
    Is there an easier way?

Using the Share at lower right for emailing requires a Scriptable email application. Gmail is a service not an app, and I guess you're accessing it in a Web browser. No, you can't use the Share option with a Web Browser.
You don't need to use Photoshop for resizing. File -> Export. Note the options for 'Quality'. It has the same as the Share option for email. You can export in batches too. Export to the desktop and attach from there.

  • I cannot send iPhotos by email

In iPhoto I keep getting " Your email did not go through the server did not reply" when I email a photo. Help ?

    iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

  • How can I set up email so I can send iPhoto without using a .mac account?

    Hello!
I am trying to send an iPhoto via email. Since I do not want to set up the .mac account yet, how do I correctly set the email send and receive perimeters? POP?
I want to use my yahoo email.
    Thanks!
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Thanks again Allan.
I figured out the AOL iChat LATE last night.
I finally got my email up and running. I called Cox to get the correct POP and SMTP addresses. It still wasn't sending, I spoke with Apple who confirmed I had all my perimeters set up correctly. Back to Cox. After a couple frustrating hours, the only reason the email was not sending was that Cox did not support the SSL that I had checked off.
The great thing about Mac (which I kept overlooking) was when I was trying to send my email, it was giving me hints for example the error message smtp.etc is not connecting with the SSL. I could have saved myself some trouble by unchecking that and testing it earlier.

  • Trouble sending photos in email from iPhoto

says my email username/password combination are wrong and won't send photos in email.  My username and password combination are correct.  So, not sure what to do next.  All parameters are configured the same as I have in Mail app, which works

    Or
IMHO the better  course is to set Mail as the iPhoto email client in the iPhoto preferences

  • IPhoto how to send album by email

i have a mac pro with osx 10.7.5 ,was wondering if i could send a wedding album I made on iPhoto algong with music for slide show by email??

You export the slideshow from iPhoto (file -> Export), that makes a movie of it.
Simply, sharing video via email is not advisable.
Many email services have an attachment limit of 20mb and some a limit of 10mb. As emails are sent through an array of relays, the effective limit is the smallest file size allowed on any of the relays.  That means that video is rarely suitable for emailing.
Then there's the whole issue of Codecs and not all machines will have the codecs to play all videos. Plus, folks with slower connections can find it very inconvenient to download large video files.
Finally, sharing video from iPhoto via email is not supported. All that gets you is the Movie thumbnail. If you feel you must share via email then you'll need to export the video first, and attach that. Use the File -> Export command and set the kind  to Original.
    This User Tip
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.
Other than that your options include:
Upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo and email a link - these will allow the recipient to view the material online. That will avoid the codec issues mentions, and the person can still download the video file if they wish.
Upload it to sharing services like Dropbox or YouSendIt and email a link. This will require that they download the material to their machines to view.

Are you using Yosemite and not apple's Mail app? Then you may need to set up an app-specific password: See the post below:

  • Iphoto sending photo per email with entourage

dear all, since when I updated online the mac applications (all of them), I can't choose anymore Entourage for sending photos per email from iphoto: the only choice I get is Mail (that I do not use). I have already disselected Mail as preferred application, but the Entourage name on Iphoto preferences always appear in a grey colour and I can not select it.
can anybody help me to get back to my previous situation? thank you very much to the angel who will help me

Since you installed all those updates, I suggest you try these procedures to get things back to normal:
    1. Restart your computer to repair the directory if needed.
    2. Run "Repair Permissions" from Disk Utility located in your Applications>Utilties Folder.
    3. Try iPhoto again. If it doesn't work then QUIT iPhoto.
    4. Your iPhoto preferences file may be corrupted.
(MAKE SURE you QUIT iPhoto first)
You will find it in your Home directory:
    (Home/your account) >Library>Preferences>com.apple.iPhoto.plist
Remove or trash the preference (.plist file) and restart iPhoto.
