After uninstalling and installing several times, Java plug-in is still undetected. Support suggested I open up the control panel and click update but there isn't such an option. The advance tab, there aren't any options to enable or disable plug-ins.

If you're running Java 7, then in System Preferences > Java > Java Control Panel in the Security tab there is a check box to enable Java in your browser. To check for update go to the Update tab.

  • HT4623 What if there is no software update option in the settings of my iPhone 3s?

What do I do if there is no software update option in the settings of my iphone 3GS?

In order to update over the air you will need to be on IOS 5.0 or higher.
For you to update your 3GS you will need to plug it to your computer and open itunes.  itunes should detect that your phone needs an upgrade, suggest doing a backup before updating.
NOte if you hava an iphone 3G the highest IOS is 4.2.1

Warranty and support are only valid in the country of origin.  The only exception is for the EU where a device purchased in any EU country can get warranty and support in any EU country.
The only option will be to take the device to Apple in an EU country for assistance.

  • Boot Camp Assistant says There is no USB drive connected to the system

I have a mid-2012 11” Macbook Air and a USB Superdrive. I am trying to use Boot Camp Assistant but it is not letting me proceed. With the Superdrive plugged and Windows 7 (full version) DVD in the drive, I get the message “No USB Drive” – “There is no USB drive connected to the system. Please insert a USB drive to continue.”
I checked using Finder and Go->Computer and there is the Windows 7 installation DVD mounted properly. The Superdrive spins up when I plug it in. I tried both USB ports. I tried re-booting with the Superdrive attached. The laptop is plugged in and there is an internet connection. It is running Mac OS X 10.8.3. I read the Installation and Setup PDF guide and there was no mention of the problem. I searched these forums and found that two other people are/have experienced the same problem, but there is no posted solution.

At the second step in the wizard, there is a dialog with three check-boxes. The only way I can proceed is if I uncheck the option "Download the latest Windows support software from Apple". When checked, I get the "No USB drive" message. Checking or unchecking the other two options does not change the behavior ("Create a Windows 7 or later install disk" and "Install Windows 7 or later"). I have tried with the Superdrive attached with Window 7 in the drive, with a blank DVD and without the Superdrive.
You are not following the Boot Camp instructions. Did you select the option to read the instructions? When running Boot Camp Assistant you are given the option to download the support software. If this is selected you must connect a usb stick that is correctly formatted per the instructions. At this point in the process you sshould not have your superdrive or Windows dvd connected.
    Read the instructions.

  • There is no USB drive connected to the system.

I have plugged in the Superdrive to the new iMac 27 that came yesterday.
This comment is being given when I am in bootcamp.
"There is no USB drive connected to the system."
The Superdrive is plugged into a USB Drive and when you place a cd/dvd in the Superdrive the mac picks up that there is a disk in the Superdrive.
    How can correct this issue?

Note: I would like to download the latest Windows support software from Apple onto a DVD so then I can install Windows 7 using bootcamp.
I prefer not to us a flash drive.
What is the easiest way to correct this issue?

  • There is no 4g LTE option for the Helix

I bought a Helix in May directly through a Lenovo gov/military sales rep to evaluate it for education and I am moderately happy with it.  I want to add a cellular mobile capability and the Lenovo tech I spoke to said there is only an Ericson 3G option for the Helix.    Anyone out there with a 4g LTE model? I thought there going to be  a Gobi 4g LTE chip available.

My recollection is that there was a LTE model briefly available but this was withdrawn due to some compatibility problems (I don't know the exact details). There were rumours that these would be resolved with a new LTE model released around August 2013 but as far as I know this never happened.

I'm using both browsers now (Firefox & Safari (for FB) I wanted to export my bookmarks from Firefox to Safari. The Help section in Firefox says that in the FF Bookmark menu there is and Export Bookmarks option. But thee isn't. Did this latest revision of FF 4.1 leave out that option?

  • There used to be an option on the home screen of the store that let you look at lists of songs made by users - what happened to this feature??

On the home screen of the itunes store on the right hand side - there used to be an option that let you choose songlists - lists of certain songs made by itunes users - for example workout songs, love songs, date night songs, songs to run by ....

I believe this was part of the iTunes "Ping" feature, which has been removed since iTunes 11.

HELP! The aliases that were atomaticatly set up were for my old employer, and I do not want his business assosiated with me anymore! How do I remove those aliases from my account, when there is no "delete alias" option on them? There is under the two I created after the fact, for myself...

Are you sure they aren't @mac.com and @me.com aliases.

  • There is no "find my iPhone" option in the system preferences iCloud window on my iMac.

It is turned on (as are location services) on my iPhone? and there is a "find my mac" option in the iCloud system preferences window but no "find my iPhone"? All is up to date! All is turned on! Thanks.

There is no Find my... app for Mac. The "Find my Mac" service allows your Mac to be found, but is not actually an app. To view the location of your devices, you have to go to http://icloud.com. This is the computer equivalent of Find my iPhone.
