I tried to update, did not work, unintstalled did not work. Now when I try to install i get error message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource tha is unabailable. Looking for itunes64.msi path.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

When you've installed SL it will be 10.6.3. You need to update that to 10.6.8 with the combo installer from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 - that gives you access to the Mac App store.
Lion is only available by phone also - same number and they'll give you a download code to use in the Mac App Store.
If you're going to Mountain Lion you don't need to install Lion first - you can do it straight from Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

HT1338 my software update is not working.
the software update tells me to click to restart my computer. It says the screen will go gray. Well, my computer just restarts and doesn't update.
My situation is similar to this. My operating system is 10.6.8. When I go to Update, It downloads the software, restarts the computer, and no updates are ever made. If I run system update again, the same programs and updates will appear as though they were never downloaded. Very strange. Is there a fix to this problem?
Any help would be appreciated as I can't figure this one out.

well first make sure that when you click on the name of your iphone on the left hand side of itunes that you go to the app and music tab and check mark the sync apps and sync music. then try clicking apply in the bottom right hand corner. then if not try doing it again after going to prefrences in the top menu and going to devices tab and click reset sync history if that doesnt work with music try and drop and drag to the name of your iphone, lastly if that doesnt work you can try restoring from a backup from before you updated. it will keep the new software but put everything that was on your phone when you created the backup back onto your phone.

Tried to update iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and my phone got stuck in recovery mode. My only option now is to restore my iPhone and lose media. However, I then tried to restore my iPhone and error 1603 occurred. My iPhone is now not working!?!?!
if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

Received msg that could not back up iphone because it has not been set up yet.I have iOS 8.02 on my iPhone 5S and Itunes 11.4.0.18 on a Windows 7 computer. iTunes is not syncing newly added music CD's. It's set to automatically import CDs when they're loaded using the AAC encoder and error correction. After they're importedm the songs and albums show up in the iTunes library, but they don't sync with my iPhone.
I've tried the following: Went to the Genius Bar at the Apple store for advice, which was useless (unusual); deleted & reinstalled iTunes; switched from syncing all music to syncing manually (and checked every song, album & genre; deleted the newly-added CDs that didn't sync and re-loaded them.
Is this an iOS 8 problem? Am I encoding incorrectly? If not AAC encoder, then what? -

I Do not clearly understand but as far as i have understood that if you want your iTunes playlist added to your iPod nano or touch automatically then you have to delete the existing songs in your iPod device and then drag the whole playlist to your device.
And next time when you add a song to the particular playlist in your Mac or pc, it will automatically be copied to your device when you plug in via usb anytime. -

I do have a questiion. I started the most recent iOS update on my iPhone last night and before it was ever completed a message appeared on my screen. It is a pic of the docking/charging cord with an arrow pointing to an iTunes logo...HELP!!!!! I have tried holding down the home key and power button several times and the same message continues to appear.

TS1538 Ios 5.1.1 update did not work
The update did not work. I downloaded the udpate last night, through ITunes and did the update this afternoon.
The phone hung during the update, and now only shows the connect to itunes on the screen. Itunes does not see the phone.
When I look in the device manager, I see the drives listed in the Other Devices, and there are two of them listed as "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode) Tried to update them, but the dirives are no longer on my pc, where Apple said that they should be.
I am clueless now.

This is an IPhone 4Then you should try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes. This should replace the drivers. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library, data or your iPhone backup.
