ive got a problem with my USB port on my MacBook Pro.
when i plug my usb cable from my phone to the laptop nothing happens. it doesnt charge

Have you tried other USB ports? Have you tried other USB peripherals to see if they work when plugged in?
Possibly the connection to the phone or the cable on your phone is faulty.

If you are getting that message on a brand new Mac with nothing connected to the USB ports, take it back. It is broken.

Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and check the sidebar. If it's in it, select it and format it unless you have files

everything else works except them. Never got them wet and fairly clean....seems like something in the system because i can charge it and use all the other ports....
this is on a macbook pro i bough in summer 2010

I'm sure you've done everything like rebooting or testing other usb devices...have you tried to create a new user account and see if you get anything that way?, I would imagine you'd have to return the machine for an exchange at the Apple store.

There are no Mac drivers for the HP Officejet K60 printer. Therefore it is not compatible with the Mac operating systems. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. 1. I use Rufus_v1.2.0 create usb boot with file iso. Insert USB to Mac, i startup my Mac mini...screen display gray color with icon folder change 'icon mac os and icon question (?)'.I think Mac mini unknown OS on hard disk (because new hard disk).
2. Don't first boot from USB flash (another devices, i can set up 'boot property' on bios, or press any key to load menu boot). On Mac mini, i don't known(i search internet i try press key 'c', but not run)

My Macbook pro(2010) is not reading the internal Hard Drive. At first I thought it to be a hard drive gone bad, so i bought a new hard drive. My macbook is still not reading the Hard Drive. I am able to use the original hard drive through a external(USB) connection. Also, when the macbook turns, there is a redelling sound. Can anyone offer me any suggestions to what the problem might be?

It sounds like the internal cable connecting the HDD to the logic board is improperly connected or faulty. An appointment at an Apple genius bar might be a good option. The repair should not be too expensive.

HT1338 iMac + USB Superdrive NOT compatible?

I have a 27"iMac whose internal Superdrive no longer writes DVDs or CDs. I tried cleaning ( Wet + Dry methods) with no success.
Instead of a costly repair or a possibly botched DIY fix, I had a cunning plan!
I bought an External USB Superdrive!
Assuming it would just Plug & Play, I am disappointed to find that it is completely invisible to my iMac!
I would have thought that a piece of Apple Hardware would be instantly recognised and kicked into life, but no.
Can anyone help?

Apple's USB SuperDrive requires more power than is normally allowed for an USB device, and therefore isn't intended for Macs which shipped with an internal one. If you want, you can get it to work by editing one of the computer's plist files.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

HT1338 MacBook Air & USB Hub (powered)

My MBA does not recognise my powered USB Hub (TRUST). I constantly get the message that whichever of my external Hard Drives are connected to it that they have not been ejected properly. This is very frustrating as I cannot do a Time Machine Backup on one and I cannot access my Aperture or iPhoto Files on another. Has anybody else had a similar experience and does anybody havee any suggestions?

Hard to say, it looks like most of there Hubs are OS X compatible.
Perhaps you have a bad power brick, a loose cable, a bad USB cable somewhere in the mix or an internal intermittent problem with that Hub.
First try connecting your Time Machine drive directly to your MBA and see if it will update?
Then try some different USB cables or perhaps another Hub until you can isolate the problem.

This appears to be a problem with the USB cable. I can make this message happen during a sync with itunes. If i lift the cable with my finger about a cm away from the join between the cable and the USB connector head of the cable I get this warning message each time I try. I must have a loose wire/connection in the cable.
