updated iphone 5 to iOS 6.1.3, now I am having trouble with keyboard not responding correctly and screen zooming in by itself...
    Buttons pressing themself...
Also, my main screen is permanently zoomed in...
    suggestions?

Double tap the screen with THREE fingers, that should get it back to normal again.
Then go into Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > OFF.
Not too sure about the keyboard and random button presses though.  Back it up and restore from iTunes, see if that fixes it.

You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

Why is Emoji Keyboard not working with iOS7....??? Is there any setting which I am missing? Can anyone help

Yes. you should keep your media in iTunes, and indeed you should also keep a backup of your library as well. if you have the device set up for manual management then the content would remain on it when deleted from the library, but you would have no way to restore the device if there was a problem.

after "sleep" keyboard not responding, mouse is working ok (mouse is wireless, k/board is not)

Probably a defective keyboard.  I had that problem a few months after I got my Mac Pro.  Apple replaced the keyboard and it has worked fine ever since.

  • USB mouse and keyboard not responding

I had a power outage yesterday and my iMac was on. I have since tried to start it and my keyboard and mouse are not responding and I get a message that the date on my computer has gone back to before March of 2001. I need help, my hardware warranty just expired and I really don't want to take in it and have to pay $100! Also I put in my start up CD and now I can't get it to eject. Please HELP!!!!!

Does the keyboard and mouse work after the computer boots up? Try unplugging them and plugging them back in. Make sure to plug them in directly to the computer. If it still is not working try the mouse and the keyboard separately one at a time. Look to see is the caps light comes on the keyboard and look to see if the mouse lights up. To set the date and time go to your System Preferences/Date & Time and put a check in the box that says Set date and time automatically(assuming you are connected to the internet). If you can get this far go to System Preferences/Startup Disk and select the install disk as your startup disk and click restart. When it boots up to the disk, instead of going through the installation, click on Utilities at the top and run Disk Utility on your hard drive.

  • Lastfmhelper? What is it and why is it always "not responding"?

When ever I pull up Activity Monitor lastfmhelper is always red and not responding. Anyone have any idea what it is and why it's misbehaving? I noticed this because my 10.5.2 iMac Core 2 Due will all of the sudden become unresponsive. When I brought up Activity Monitor lastfmhelper was, as I said, red and "Not responding".
    Thanks

It is not an OS X component so it must be from a third-party software product you've installed. A Google search only turned up a reference to a Windows file. There is a web radio site, Last.fm. You may be using software to access the site or installed software from the site to listen to their internet broadcast. If this rings a bell, then locate the software and uninstall it. It my not be compatible with Leopard.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
    AppZapper
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at www.versiontracker.com or www.mackupdate.com.

  • Keyboard not responding while installing Windows XP sevice pack 2

    Hi,
I am new to macworld, Just got Macbook and try to use bootcamp to install windows xp, but keyboard did not respond hence got stuck at this point. Please help me. how to make keyboard working while installing windows xp using bootcamp. I know that for non-portable Mac USB mouse and keyboard can be used but whats need to be done for portable Mac like Macbook

I have been scouring the internet on my limited dial-up connection trying to find someone who had a definitive solution to this problem which I too have been stuck with.
What finally resolved this keyboard problem during that critical stage in the win xp setup was by:
    1. Going to System Preferences>Keyboard and Mouse and check-marking "USE ALL F1, F2 ETC. KEYS AS STANDARD FUNCTION KEYS (when this option is selected, press the Fn key to use the special features printed on each key)" Before starting up Boot Camp,
    2. and Unplugging the Mighty Mouse from the keyboard while my mac was rebooting.
Switching out the apple keyboard for a standard USB keyboard did not work (perhaps in hindsight, i should have plugged it in first before boot camp rebooted and tried to install win xp;)
    Attempting time after time again did not solve the issue;
    Neither did doing all the software updates, firmware updates and such while borrowing an ethernet cable connection from my local library;
    I did not need to find another Win XP with SP2 nor did I need to find a USB keyboard;
Not even updating my Mac OS X from 10.5.2 to 10.5.5 or installing the new firmwares for the Apple aluminium keyboard was necessary it seems.
Just a simple checkmark to make the apple keyboard's F-keys primary and unplugging the Mouse from the keyboard before the WinXP install kicked in, allowed me to press Enter to proceed with the installation.
I also turned off the special functions of the mighty mouse like the center click and roll ball, but I felt obligated to post the solution to this problem - Do as you would be done by.
Hope this helps others who encounter this same problem, please confirm if I am correct. Good luck.

  • IBook G4 keyboard not responding

My wife recently spilled some water on the side of her iBook and now when she hits the keyboard it is not responding anymore. Is the keyboard that sensitive to water? Is there a way to test whether it's the keyboard or the connection? If it's the keyboard any recommendation on where to buy one?

The chances are, the water has damaged something in the keyboard.
It would take a vast amount of water to run down into the logic board. By the suggestion in your question, it's only a small amount. Keyboard are very easily replaced and could be brought secondhand working on eBay very cheaply. Make sure you buy the right keyboard for your model and screen size. A 14" iBook keyboard wont fit a 12"  iBook keyboard.
    Best of luck

  • Why does my keyboard not work in texting mode??

Please help... Im wondering why my iphone does not work now if someone texts me I cant get the keyboard to pop up so I can reply. So if I draft a new text the keyboard comes up but the (spacebar) row does not work. Anybody else have this problem. I just got the phone at the begining of Oct of this year.

I am now having this same issue (lack of a keyboard when reply texting and the 'space bar' 'return' and '.?123' not working when trying to create a new text). This seems to have started since the latest update to v 1.1.3. I have tried to reboot using the wake/home key combination and I have done a complete restore but still having the issue. Suggestions??

  • MacBook Pro Retina Keyboard not responding after Sleep

    Hi,
I am having an issue that I have noticed in Mountain Lion. When I put my MBPr to sleep, either via Apple->Sleep or by Closing the lid (maybe sleep for 5-10 min or more); the Keyboard will not respond at all and cannot enter the Password to get back in.
I have tried to remove the lock screen in order to avoid that but the same things happens for any App that I try to use and requires keyboard. The Apple Magic Mouse works fine, and I have no external keyboard connected.
I have taken it to the Store and the ML was re-installed...still same issue
Anyone had this happen and able to determine the cause?

Just some more info regarding this:
Pressing a key on the usb key board will bring up the log in screen and the mouse works (plugged into the keyboard) but text input from the keyboard doesn't work.

  • Compaq CQ60-104TU keyboard not responding

    Hi experts,
I have been facing this problem of keys not responding or responding in erratic fashion on my Compaq CQ60-104TU laptop. Because of this I'm not even able to login into my system.
Can somebody please point out to the problem and also the solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Himanshu

as far as i know, if you can type in your password on the log-on screen then the keyboard is working, if the problem would appear after logging in or it will appear when you are on your desktop screen then it may be an operating system problem or a user account corruption issue
the keyboard would only be a hardware failure if when you turn on your nb, there will be no ligts on teh keyboard, capslock key will not lit or no response at all from the moment you turn on the nb
for the touchpad, try to check if its off or on... if there is an orange light above the touchpad then its off, toggle the switch on that light to turn it to blue..
so before anything else.. TRY THIS FIRST!!!!
    1. remove the battery
    2. disconnect  the power adapter
    3. with no power supply at all, press and hold the power button for 1 min.. make sure it will be 1 min...
in technical terms we call this HARD RESET.. this process would release static charges that might be contained on the power button bec sometimes those static charges causes harware malfunctionalities..
then it this step will not work.. do this...
try to go to safe mode by continually pressing F8 when booting (press F8 when you see hp invent screen), then you'll be directed to advance boot options... choose last known good config.. then it will boot to last known good settings....
please let me know if this will not work..
if not "choose repair your computer" on the boot selections.. choose keyboard layout as US.. then if asked for a username and password.. you can cahnge the administrator username to  your username then put in your password.. if you are not using any password leave it blank.. then choose start-up repair...
please let me know if this will not work..
    Hope this helps.....................

  • WHY DID MY IPOD NOT RESPOND TO MY TOUCH

I think the reason why I cant use my iPod and is unresponsive to touch is because I left the portrait and landscape lock on too long. I forgot to turn it off. Well anyways, does anyone know how to fix it? I mean, I can still click the turn off/on button, but I cant shut it down because it needs me to slide to shut down and it wont let me, no matter how hard I try. PLZ HELP ME!! ;(

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Water spilled, keyboard not responding

    Hi,
**** happens and I spilled water(not so much) over a 2 months old Macbook.
I took hair dryer, i removed the back plate (as for replacing RAM), dryed everything for a moment (I didn't want to remove mother board, so no direct line to keybord). Now the situation is that everything works very good except that the keyboard is not responding (not a single key, when I say everything works perfect it is when using mouse or trackpad). Ok I know that if it does not restore (by some miracle) it has to go back to Apple. Is there any way to see if it is just the connection between keyboard and mother board that is affected (still not dry) and it would not require sending it back?
    Cheers

yeah, powering it up without being 100% sure it was completely dry wasn't good. depending on how long ago this happened and the relative humidity and temperature of where you most frequently use and store the laptop will determine if it's completely dry.
it is likely dry, but water has minerals in it that can interfere with electrical contacts once the water evaporates and the minerals are left to dry onto the exposed electronics. this could very well be the problem and all you MAY have to do is clean any contacts you can see mineral buildup and/or corrosion resulting from the spill.
or, what is also likely, is that the keyboard controller has shorted.
is the keyboard's presence recognized in system prefs or system profiler?
