  • Galaxy Note Edge Wifi Connection keeps dropping off

My wifi connections keeps disconnecting even after many attempts to login and getting connected on my home wifi it disconnects within a few seconds. Checked my modem and router and all is good (up to date firmware) and no connection issues on other devices. I verified my Edge is up to date as well. I am at a loss as to why it keeps auto disconnecting from my wifi. I tested tethering to my other cell phone and it stayed connected to it. So where do I go from here?

    Cesmenow,
Thanks for reaching out to us. We can assist you. To confirm, this is only happening on your home wi-fi connection or do you also experience it with all wi-fi's?
We can try a couple of troubleshooting steps to resolve this: First, try resetting the app preferences by going to Settings>General>Application manager>Applications then press Settings>Reset app preferences. Tell us if this helps.
If not, then please run your device in Safe Mode - http://tinyurl.com/oo54noe and try again. This turns off all 3rd party apps. Tell us if it helps.

I have just received my second MacBook Air 11" the Wifi connection keeps dropping. Also, after 3 meters away from the rooter it keeps searching for network! It is the second try and the same issues. Will Apple ever come up with a solution? There is a program pack for the connection issue but I cannot believe that this computer wifi keeps connected only while nearby the rooter!

    Applied this update?

If the update is installed aready, you may have to wait until OS X 10.8.5
update if and when it is relased.

  • Wifi keeps dropping out on MacBook Pro after installing Yosemite

Wifi keeps dropping out on MacBook Pro after installing Yosemite. This is not good.  Apparently, a lot of people are having this issue with Yosemite.  Any suggestions for my MacBook Pro?  It's bad enough that Yosemite looks so boring, but to have a major issue like constantly disconnecting from wifi is deplorable.
I plan to keep Mavericks on my iMac until this issue is resolved.

  • T400 WiFi connection keeps dropping

My T400 WiFi keeps dropping the connection, and wonder if anyone has any suggestions.  When it drops, I've tried to reconnect by going to Network and Sharing Center, clicking on Wireless Network Connection and try to restore from there.
I get a repair window, then nothing happens.  The machine seems to lock up - I lose the task bar, the Windows button doesn't work, and I have to force shutdown via Ctrl-Alt-Del.  When it boots up again, the wireless reconnects without problems, but then will drop out again after a few hours.
I've tried reinstalling the most recent drivers for the wireless card, but to no avail.
    Any suggestions, please?

You can try either of these and see if they help.
Tap Settings, then tap Safari on the left side. Then on the right side - tap clear history, clear cookies, clear cache. Clear all three. Reboot your iPad. Hold down on the sleep button at the top until the red slider appears and slide to power off. Then hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and the iPad will restart. Launch Safari and see if helped.
If that doesn't help, try this. Tap Settings, then tap General on the left side, then scroll down on the right side and tap Reset, then tap Reset Network Settings at the top. Reboot your iPad as described above. Go to WiFi select your network, enter your password and try again.

  • Why does my wifi connection keep dropping in and out?

I have Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The wifi is connected to the wireless router and is the only pc of equipment that is. Full bars. Yet the note keeps dropping the wifi saying it has authenticity errors? My previous cell had absolutely no issues. And its a new router.

I regret to learn of the issues, funeralguy77! Lets figure it out together. Can you try to connect another device to the same WiFi connection. Does it connect? Have you tried to delete/forget the connection and trying again?
Please share additional details so that we can help!

  • Wifi connection keeps dropping from mbp

how disappointing. after spend a few years thinking about switching to mac from pc i finally pulled the trigger and was looking forward to some issue free computing.
after investing in a new 17" mac book pro how disappointing it is to find that it drops the wifi connection every few minutes.
I live in the country so have no other wifi networks nearby to cause interferance. in the house we have 2 iphones, an ipad, samsung netbook and sony laptop all of which have no issues whatsoever with the connection...ever.
during browsing the signal strength will suddenly drop to zero. to get back on I have to click on airport and select the network name again and a few seconds later the connection is back there, fulll stregth.
I am only ever a few meters away from the router (4-5m) so range is not the issue. i've installed all software updates so that can't be an issue.
come on apple - this is not the user experiance i was looking for from a £1500 machine.
i've googled the issue and tried a few of the solutions people have suggested but had no joy.
any ideas how i cn fix the issue?

I also find the experience with Wi Fi on the unibody MBP of mid 2010 production less than stellar. I have a MBP, 15", i7 and also decided to 'pull the plug' on Windoze and get the Mac experience. Build quality is stellar, human/machine interface off the charts and a blast to use. BUT, that said, we have a Linksys router and five other PC's, plus numerous other toys running Wi Fi including our Netflix (Vizio) box....and the only thing that EVER drops a signal is Mac....and I do mean the ONLY thing.
From what I can tell in researching the issue (and I've done a TON of it!) is the encryption mode seems to be far, far more sensitive on the MBP's than similar Windows machines. The PC's just take whatever signal you feed them and are happy....the MBP seems to balk sometimes and I've juggled my settings on it until now I do have a robust connection but still feel Apple needs to research this MUCH more....there are a ton of complaints that all center on mid-year 2010 produced MBPs of all sizes, all processors and it's not confined to this message board, they're everywhere!
Fuel to the fire comes if you run an Airport Express too. We've got one for running our Bose sound system and it also just drops out....have arrived home and see the green light changed to orange and have to run the Airport utility to get it synced back up.
My .02 cents worth, at least.

  • Broadband connection keeps dropping off

Hi everyone, anybody having a problem with there broadband connection dropping off constantly with the new BT infinity broadband. I constantly have to switch my IPad off when I am on line and my laptop and wireless printer is also being affected by this. Can anyone suggest how I can correct this problem? Thanks in advance for any help. j

If all of the connections are wireless it is probably an issue with that rather than the Infinity connection itself. Download Inssider 2 onto your laptop and check if another network is using the same channel as yours.

  • When in sleep mode my wifi connection keeps dropping out

Since updating to iOS 6 on my iPad 3 when I but my pad into sleep mode I loss wifi connection. When I wake the pad the wifi connection comes back.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Not likely an infection at all.
Wake from sleep is usually some problematic USB or FW device.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for Sleep/Wake problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport in 10.4 & below, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • My home WiFi connection keeps dropping, how can I fix this?

I have a MBP Mid2009 which is running on Yosemite. A couple of months ago it started giving a nosy issue: At home when connected to my home network, after being connected for 1 minute the connection drops, keeps connected to the router via WiFi but the internet drops. This only happens when the network is password protected, once, I removed the password and connection had no issues. Again this only happens at home, it is an Arris router and only happens when I assign a password.

    Hello joe2616,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot this issue where your Wi-Fi network is dropping, please follow the directions outlined below.
Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly
Your Mac may not not stay connected to your Wi-Fi network reliably.
Your Mac may stop accessing the Internet during use.
    Solution
Use these steps if your computer disconnects from its Wi-Fi network unexpectedly.
Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference.
If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.See Potential sources of wireless interference for more information about interference and solutions.
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router or ISP. In that case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.
