did a restore to my ipod 1.3 and now all i have is a black circle with a black bar running thru the center with the words below do not disconnect. also has the battery charing in bliack and white. nothing else. how can i fix it?

Your error is connect to hardware, try these steps to solve it:
Related errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. i updated my ipod touch 32gigs (4G) and now all apps exept the defult apps wont work
is there a way i can fix it without restoring because i have 6.5gb of apps and 1.37gb of music

Out of curiosity.
You downloaded one new app and that fixed all the rest of your apps?
Resetting your iPod Touch will not lose any data.
Only restoring may cause you to loose data.

How do I return my iPhone 4 back to the way it was after I accidentally backed it up with my old iPod's information, and now all my contacts, messages, and photos are all gone?

So I went to plug my iPhone into my computer, automatically pulling up iTunes/iTunes Store. I notice that the computer isn't recognizing my iPhone, so I look at my phone and see that it is asking me if I want to trust this computer so I click yes. Then on the computer on iTunes it asks me if I want to save it as a new device (which I should've done) or save it as a previous device (and showed the names of other devices) and I picked the save as previous device under my old iPod, thinking that it would just save it and not mess with anything (mind you, I have never backed this iPhone up before)... So I wait for it to finish saving, and when it is I realize my phone looks nothing the same as it was when it was my iPhone a few minutes ago (except all the apps I hade downloaded unto the actual iPhone) and now looked like my old iPod. It deleted all of my contacts (except ones synced from Facebook), photos (but had all the photos from my old iPod), and deleted every message I had had with someone. I know I made a mistake, and I honestly don't know if this is something that can even be fixed... But I need to at least try.! So if someone could help, I would appreciate you a lot!

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.

An upgrade for my IPod 3rd gen and now all my APPS close as soon as they open, except for the first page and the bottom line.

I just downloaded the latest upgrade for my 3rd gen IPod and now most of the Apps close as soon as they open. Only the first page of Apps and the bottom line will operate. Does anyone know of a solution. I checked with common problems and I don't have other Apps open.

If the ipod was completely drained of power, you have to leave the ipod connected to a power source (Like your PC) for up to an hour before it will have enough power to power up and be seen by windows and iTunes.

You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, particularly before any update or restore.
If you have failed to do this, then they are likey gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

You need iTunes on the computer. There is no iTunes for your phone. See:

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

I then brought it back to my PC to sync, and lost all my songs on my iPod. I'm now receiving all kinds of weird messages that the name of my iPod is a duplicate and cannot be synced (no matter what I put in it). During the process of loading it on my Mac., a bunch of odd emails were popping up to sync. I just kept deleting and adding mine. Is it corrupted? What have I done??? I am a personal trainer and live by my iPod. Please help.

Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
