My friend just sold me his iPhone 3GS since he is buying a new one. He says that I need to update the OS version of the phone to iOS 6.0 by using iTunes.
I downloaded iTunes and tried to update it but it now says the error:

I have read some existing queries regarding the above error and I have did some of the workarounds mentioned but it is still not solved. My network settings are updated, network carrier is correct even the ICCID displayed is not blank.

BTW im from the PhilippinesDid you ever use your computer to hack or jailbreak any iOS device? If you did your hosts file is corrupted, and you will have to fix it. If you are sure you never used iOS hacking software of any kind then the previous post about antivirus is your next choice.

When my iPod was 'preparing for update' my iPod USB accidently fell out. I turned it on and a usb sign and an arrow to iTunes came up, so I plugged it in. It comes up with a message saying iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode, You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. i cannot seem to upgrade the ipad to ios 5 i keep getting a message after about 15 minutes that says ipad server software could not be contacted make sure your network settings are correct. and network is active or try again later
My 3G service provider told me to power off by holding the top black button down for 5 seconds until you get until you get the red arrow asking you to slide to power off. Leave off for a minute or so and then use the same button to turn back on and it will show a little apple in the middle of the screen. This should reboot your server information and you will not get the error message.
