HT1343 Deleting more than one email

Can you hilight and delete a group of emails instead of deleting one at a time. I am used to the Windows system.

Yes. The Windows system copied the Mac system. You can highlight or shift click. Or command-a will select all.

With your Mail app open and the listing of the messages, tap Edit at the top right.  Then check each circle on the left side of the messages to delete.  When you have checked those to delete, tap Trash at the lower right.
Next tap Mailboxes upper left, under accounts select the account, then for the account tap Trash.  Select Edit upper right, and at the bottom, Delete All, and confirm Delete All and all will be removed at one time.

  • How can I delete more than one email with DROID Turbo

New DROID Turbo. Don't know how to delete all emails (no select all option?)

Thanks for the reply, wrkeen. If you're using the native email application on your Turbo, you should be able to press and hold one email in your inbox then the option to select multiple emails will become available. Comcast also has a special application, Xfinity Connect, for their emails. If you're using their application, please reach out to Comcast directly for email assistance.

  • How can I delete more than one Email (but not ALL) at once in the new Mail program?

In OS X 10.7 it was possible to just right click an email and then scroll down or up to delete i.e. 10 Emails at once. But in OS X 10.8 this doesn't work anymore. I have to delete one mail after the other which is exhausting after a while and with a lot of emails! But I don't want to delete all of them (would be too easy with CTRL-A and then Return) just a few. Any ideas? I didn't find it out yet and I want it the easy Mac-Way and not the complicated Windows-way
Thanks for any inout on that!!

You can now double-click and drag down the list of emails to select multiple, consecutive messages to delete.
For non-consecutive messages, command-click on the ones you want to delete.

  • How do I delete more than one email message at a time?

    Hello,
I get a lot of emails daily. Sometimes I can't keep up with them and they add up in my account. Is there a way to delete a group of messages at one time?
Right now I have 700 unread messages that I would like to delete but can't seem to find a way to delete them all without having to go through and click one at a time....so I just skip it. Help!
    Thanks in advance

Select all the messages you want to delete. If they are all in a convenient block in one account use Select All. Otherwise, select the first message in the list you want to remove, hold down the SHIFT key and scroll to the bottom of the list then click on the last message to select the entire list.
Click on the Delete button in your Mail program.

  • Mac Mail randomly deleting more than one email at a time when using the garbage can icon

I have been using Macs since the 2e, so I know about things like "rules" and such. However I just went from 10.6 to 10.8.2 and now have this wierd glitch, beyond the random dropping of my wifi connection. That is an iritation, the muti-deleting of mails in my inbox is much worse.
Basically I click on the highlighted Email to trash it, and the next one in line goes too. This is a random occurance (about once every 4 or 5 deletes) but realy needs to stop. Does anyone see this, besides me?
Took the combigned 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 update (digital of course).

  • Is there a way to delete more than one email at a time in the inbox. Also, how do I delete all the mail in the "delete" subfolder?

I did found an answer for deleting inbox emails using the "shift" key but it is a slow process, as I have 8k emails. I find that they all go into the "delete" folder of which I have to go through the same process as stated above to permanently delete them. The "trash" folder I can right click on it and select "empty trash" and it is all gone. This feature is not available for the "delete" folder. Has anyone found an easy way to empty the "delete" folder?

ctrl+a will select all emails currently shown. In delete folder just select mails using ctrl+a and delete them using delete button on your keyboard, or from context menu.

  • How can delete more than one email at a time

Is there a way to delete all the messages in the inbox instead of deleting one at a time??

No. You can select multiple messages at once for deletion - one at a time, but there is not a select all option, etc.
If there were a way to delete all messages in an account's Inbox at once as is available with an account's Trash mailbox and some did that by mistake or by accident, the habitual whiners in that group would likely blow a gasket.

  • Is there any way to delete more than one email from the iPhone at a time?

What if I know I've read everything already online - can I press my Mail icon and instead of opening & deleting one by one, can't I delete everything in my Mail that's there? THANKS!

Use the edit button, then select all messages you want to delete, and press "Delete" button. You still have to select one by one, but you'd have to do it anyway.

  • Selecting more than one email to delete

Has anyone figured out how to select more than one email when deleting? Thanks. Love my phone

The quickest way, especially if you are deleting bunches of them in a row is to do this...
open one email. If you want to trash it, click on the trash can icon at the bottom, it trashes it and goes to the next one. As far as skipping the ones you want to save, dunno which way that runs. I just delete all mine since I don't have the Iphone to clear the mail server, I still get it on my desktop computer later.
