My battery has been having problems, like not holding charge as long as it used to and the battery percentage sometimes freezes. I asked about it before and I was told the battery in my Macbook Pro only goes up to 1000 cycles and I'm at 937, so my battery is seeing its end soon. I've had this macbook since January 2013. PS. I'm learning more that Apple Care doesn't really cover anything. The more I read, the more I feel like I wasted my $250 on it to be honest. I don't see anything Apple Care truly covers unless it's a problem when you first get your laptop that manufacturers did. I'll probably will be moving back to Microsoft after this Macbook goes. Half the price and longer lasting without any protection/insurance.

Not confused but true, there is a difference between warranties and insurance policies, in most cases. After confirming with my agent, my insurance policy on my apple products is no longer available to new clients. My agent stated it was too "liberal" in its coverage and was subject to fraud.
Apple makes great products and the first year coverage is fantastic plus my insurance coverage I'm double covered for 12 months. Anything that renders my apple products useless, including unexplained loss or diminished functionality is covered by my insurance policy(again, they don't offer this level of coverage anymore so I don't want to tease anyone here) I would however recommend looking for similar coverage from other insurance companies.
I also recommend adding AppleCare plus AND standard insurance on you "big apple" stuff.
If you travel a lot, it's a no brainer to ask your insurer about loss, breakage, and theft and deductibles when out of country. You may be happy with your coverage or opt to add more insurance.
Again my coverage is every bit as good as AppleCare plus and very pleased with it, however case in point, true story, a student traveling with us in London had his usa iphone 4S die on him (1.5 years old with AppleCare plus) and we booked time at a apple store, and he received a new one not a refurb, 20 min in/out, restored it on iCloud and his MacBook. It was handled perfectly by apple. If my iPhone 5 dies next year in London, I will get a new phone with my insurance BUT not instantly in London at an apple store. So mr black is correct.
Short story, long .....if you travel or subject to theft (student etc) get both, for two years you will be be COVERED to the max and then after that you will be covered.

AppleCare does not cover liquid damage which would mean you get a replacement as an out of warranty service for a fee. If you have AppleCare+ then you can use one of your 2 incidents to get a replacement for $49.

If you previously bought AppleCare+ for it, accidental damage is covered. Regular AppleCare doesn't cover accidents.
