HT1349 erasing iphone data, how long does it take?

I have literally deleting data from my iphone 3G for the past 12 hours. Is it normal to take this long or it is messed up? Please let me know asap.

As brendan002 stated, it should state it on your order. Once the order has been processed, Apple will update you with tracking information and a expected delivery date.

Hard to say, it depends on your iphone model, the data to back up and the number of apps installed adding their part of data to the backup.
If you copy all the pictures from the camera roll before and delete the original files, it should be under one hour, close to 30min using a 3G. Also transfer your videos before you start.

it does not damage or wear out hardware
and you can restore any backup afterwards as yo see fit

Apple.com has notoriously given very accurate assessments of their ship dates. Keep checking back there for updates. The place to look is in the Store ... find the "Account" button near the upper right.

Interesting question, beachn! If I understand correctly, you're trying to see how long it will take to update the software/operating system of an iPhone 4. If that's the case, the during of a software update will depend greatly on the speed of your computer and/or your phone. I've seen the process vary from 4 minutes to an hour. Nt sure on O2, but that seems to be a long time, you need to call your carrier and make sure they dont need to activate it. I believe they do.

Well, the two questions you've asked aren't really related, but that being said, you should probably plug it in. You're going to have to restore the software to the device via iTunes.
