How do I get rid of web pages I'm through viewing?

Not sure exactly what you mean but while you are using Safari, just tap the X on the left side of the tab to close a it. Only the active tab shows the X. You have to tap on a tab to make it active or the foremost window.
If you want to clear the history - Settings>Safari>Clear History.
These are instructions for Safari in iOS 5. What version are you running?

  • How do I get rid of internet pages restrictions on...

    I have a Nokia 2630 and just applied a free-to-try option that gives 30 days free internet for the mobile phone. The bad thing is that I can't open some pages on the net.... It gives me a restriction that says the page was restricted because my profile is a minor profile. Though, I'm not able to get my profile to be adult because I need to be 18 years old, and I'm 16... This is not about porn sites restriction in any way....... It doesn't even allow me to open Facebook.com (or other popular websites)! And some more sites that I used to visit...... Now I got rid of this. How? I use Opera Mini now. Everytime I use it to open a page that was actually restricted for Nokia's browser it works!  But there's one more thing, and that is that I can't download anything from the restricted sites because whenever I click download Opera Mini closes and then the nokia's integrated browser opens in order to download anything...
    How do I get rid of this? Is there any trick/hack that can get over these restrictions?
    Thanks

    You need to contact your network operator. It is them that are imposing the restrictions, not the phone or web browser. Because of the different was that opera works it can get around some restrictions.
    The opera browser on that phone doesn't support downloading, thats why it opens them using the default browser.

  • How do I get rid of sticky pages fm previous searches?

    It seems that since the switch to Yahoo browser I'm having problems. Cannot get rid of a sticky web page from each of several sites I've searched, no matter what. There's no "x" in the URL box, and using the red & white x sends me back to my desktop.
    I've tried everything, including contacting web site(s), removing cookies, upgrading security. I'm not upgrading to new Firefox because I don't need the new abilities and don't want to lose any old ones, or be forced to take on some I don't want. Am I
    being punished for not upgrading? Has Mozilla/Firefox been acquired by the pushy Google? Even when I try one of your Suggestions To Help, when I want to get out I get totally thrown out of the site and have to start all over to before registration page and have to recompose my "question." Which is: How do I get rid of these unwanted returning web pages, even after having eliminated cookies for the sites, rebooted, all of that?

  • How do I get rid of home page I do not want

    I have always had Google as my Home Page on Firefox. Suddenly out of nowhere (and I have never used this site) it comes up with a website for a Canadian drugs company. Try as I may I cannot get rid of this website. I have done all the normal things like resetting default, deleting and requesting that Google be the Home Page by clicking and dragging icon to home page but as soon as I click Firefox up comes this rogue website. Anyone any ideas how I can get rid of it for good???? Driving me mad!!!

    -> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
    -> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
    Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> Update Firefox to the latest version by going to Help Menu -> About Firefox -> click Check for Updates -> if an updated version is found then download the latest version and install it. After that follow these steps:
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
    -> go to View Menu -> '''Zoom''' -> click '''Reset''' -> '''Page Style''' -> select '''Basic Page Style'''
    -> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click '''Clear Now'''
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> When Firefox starts : select "Show My Home Page" -> Type the address of the website which you want to be your HomePage e.g. http://www.google.com -> place Checkmark on "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file" -> select Radio Button option2 "Always ask me where to save files"
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Privacy -> History section -> '''Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History"''' -> REMOVE Checkmark from '''"Permanent Private Browsing mode"''' -> place CHECKMARKS on:
    1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> select "Exceptions..." button -> Click "Remove All Sites" at the bottom of "Exception - Cookies" window
    4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> under "Keep Until" select "They Expire"
    -> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
    -> When using the Location Bar, suggest: select "History and Bookmarks"
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline Storage (Cache): click '''Clear Now''' button
    -> Click OK on Options window
    -> click the Favicon on SearchBar -> click '''Manage Search Engines''' -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click '''Remove''' -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
    You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

  • I have a macbook 10.6.8  I am getting a internet configuration page when i try to boot safari.  How so i get rid of this page.  Thank you.

    I have a macbook OS X  10.6.8.  I was messing around with java yesterday and now I get a Internet configuration page when I try to launch safari .  How do I get rid of this.  Thank you.

    Can you post a screen shot?

  • How do I get rid of 'sweet page' after having used malware softw., reestablishing firefox as hyperlink, rebooting ?

    It is not the described ''sweet pack' but 'sweet page' - presents itself as search engine - supposedly from the Netherlands. I have run malwarebytes anti-malware - no malware found - I reestablished mozilla as hyperlink - rebooted twice - didn't help, it keeps popping up whenever I try t open a new tab.
    must have happened when I updated Java from the Java homepage.
    How can I get rid of that? Thank you very much for your efforts, with kind regards
    Irene Fritz

    There's also a separate, hidden setting for new tabs:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
    * ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
    * ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
    * ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
    * ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
    Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
    Two gotchas:
    * If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page:<br><br>orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > ''in the left column click'' Extensions
    * If the change works for the rest of your session but at the next startup is back to the unwanted page, you might have a user.js file in your personal Firefox settings folder (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and remove the file: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    Any luck?

  • How do i get rid of the page where i sent the message already.  it is stuck to that page.

    my mail is stuck to a draft that i have sent already a lot of times hoping it will close.  but it is stuck on that edit draft.  please help me to get rid of the page so i can check on my emails.  thanks

    Quit the mail app completely and then restart the iPad. Then see if you can cancel the draft.
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    If that doesn't work reset the iPad.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • How do i get rid of WEB BAR. went to control panel...did not work

    I have web bar at the top of the screen. I have uninstalled it in the control panel but it still is there and i don't know how to get rid of it and it is driving me crazy.

    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]

    * [http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/ Hitman Pro]
    * [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
    [http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

  • Unified Communications Operations Manager 8.0: How can I get rid of exlamation marks in Service Level View?

    Hi all,
    In Operations Manager I open the Service Level View and there are 3 exclamation marks visible for some devices. I acknowledged all alerts & events and they are already cleared now, but I'd like to know if I can get rid of the exclamation marks in Service Level View too. Is this possible?
    Kind regards,
    Richard

    Nancy,
    You are God!
    It worked!
    Thanks.
    I have a dumb basic question which is sort of related to your shambles comment, which I don't deny is true.
    I am confused about whether style.css files get affiliated with each separate HTML page or whether there is just one style.css file that is affiliated with all my HTML pages. If they are separate CSS files, how do I separate each style.css file?
    Best, P.

    Since two days, everytime I open firefox an extra tab opens up from Download Helper.
    I close it everytime, but it's getting annoying.
    I've tried the Extra - Options screen, I've tried the Help with Firefox screen , I can't seem to find a solution.
    Please help me get rid of it before I might toss my screen out the window in a few days...

    Did you check for problems with the file prefs.js in the Firefox Profile Folder and rename or delete the file?
    Windows may be hiding the .js file extension, so check the Properties via the right-click context menu to be sure.

  • How do I get rid of the page border when I publish a page?

    As you can see from this photo, there is a line around the page which I'd like to get rid of.  All the border strokes are set to 0 in Muse, but it's still there when I publish.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Deselect everything, and set the stroke to 0 or the stroke color to none.

  • How do I get rid of -1 page number from TOC

    When I create and import a TOC in to my document, the first TOC page has no number, which is OK, the second page is numbered -1 and the last TOC page also has no number. I am trying to get rid of the -1 from the second page. I have tried a number of things from Format >Document>Numbering and Format>Page Layout>Master  Page Usage but nothing succeeds. Would be grateful for any help if anyone recognises this problem. Thanks.

    Got to where the page number is, usually a Master Page, and either delete it, or set it to a color that is set to invisible (via Color Views) prior to publication.
    Check both Left and Right MPs.
    View > Master Pages
    In most templates, the page number is a "#" in the header or footer.
