HT1349 How do I put my music on a CD?

Hello   New Here
How do I put my music on a CD?

To burn an audio disc:
Create a playlist that contains the songs or files you want to burn to the CD; make sure the items you want to include have a checkmark beside them.
Insert a blank disc.
Select the playlist and choose File > Burn Playlist to Disc.  If Burn Playlist to Disc doesn’t appear in the menu, the playlist you selected can’t be burned to a CD because it contains items with usage restrictions (for example, a song your computer isn’t authorized to play).
Select a disc format.
If you’re creating an audio CD, choose your options:
Change the recording speed: Choose an option from the Preferred Speed pop-up menu. When you burn an audio CD, iTunes automatically uses the best recording speed for the CD. However, if your blank CD is rated for a slower speed than the maximum speed of your drive, or if you experience problems creating CDs, you may want to change the recording speed to match the CD’s rating.
Change the amount of silence between songs: Choose an option from the Gap Between Songs pop-up menu.
Have all the songs on the disc play at the same volume: Select Use Sound Check.
Include information that disc players in some vehicles can display: Select Include CD Text.
Click Burn.

Are you asking about a music icon instead of an "iPod" icon?
If so, you need only to upgrade your iOS software.
In iOS 5 Apple renamed iPod to music and in addition created a separate "videos" app, making iPhone consistent with iPod Touch and iPad devices.

  • How do I put the music on my IPod onto the ITunes on my new computer? Help

Just got a new computer. How do I put the music, ect. on my IPod onto the ITunes on the new computer?
I downloaded ITunes onto the new computer, plugged in my Ipod, and a box popped up asking to either erase or transfer what was on my Ipod. I'd read before we put up the new computer that all you have to do is click the Transfer button and it will put all the music, ect. onto the ITunes account. Well, it didn't work. The page where it shows the bar that shows the memory is on the ITunes and shows exactly what it did on the old computer, but that's it. There's no music, nothing. I logged on to my ITunes account, that did nothing. What can I do? There has to be SOMETHING. Thanks so much!

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

A selection of iPod to iTunes utilities:
TuneJack Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
SharePod Windows Only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

    iDump Windows Only
    YamiPod Mac and Windows

    Floola Mac & Windows

iPod Music Liberator Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
Music Rescue Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iGadget Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • New itunes, no old itunes. How do I put the music on my ipod onto my itunes

I recently had my computer cleaned out. When they clean it out, they clean it out. They ended up having to remove my music folders to clean it out. How can I put the music on my ipod onto my new itunes? Is there a way I can do this?
    Thank you.

    Hey there,
There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. There is a very direct method, which I personally prefer, but there are also numerous third party applications, which will help you accomplish the task as well. The link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method as well as a few third party applications if you choose to go that route instead. Hope this helps.

  • How do I put my music from my iPod Touch to iTunes on my computer?

okay, I read a lot of questions in a similar format but nothing has helped. Here is my situation and what I have done.
I have an iPod Touch and my computer crashed, I had to restore my system completly. I thought I had backed up my iTunes but I did not back up all of my content. However, the music I did not back up are on my iPod. How can I put my music from my iPod to my iTunes WITHOUT erasing my music I have on my iPod? Some of the music on my iPod I do not have anymore so I can't erase my music I have on my iPod.
I tried to "authorized" my computer/iTunes to my iPod but a pop up came up and said my computer was "already authorized". I also tried to back up my iPod but that did not do anything. I also went under iTunes and checked marked "manually manage music" but nothing works.
    What can I do?

    Tranfer iTunes purchases by:

Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • HT201272 how do i put my music off my i phone on to my new mac book pro i don't want to erase it all

how do i put my music off my iphone on to my new mac book pro, i dont want to erase it all

The iphone is not a backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases:  File>Transfer Purchases.
You should copy everything ( files/docs/pics/contacts/calendars/music/etc) from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one - as you would any time you get a new computer.

  • HT1296 How do you put all music on Ipod back onto a previously crashed computer in which the original music files were not able to be restored?

Hi, HOW DO YOU PUT ALL MUSIC FROM IPOD BACK ONTO A PREVIOUSLY CRASHED COMPUTER IN WHIHC ALL MUSIC FILES WERE UNABLE TO BE RESTORED.
My computer crashed a few months ago and my IT guys were not able to restore my music files.. at least I can't find them. When I log into Itunes, all of my music and play lists appear but when I click to play a song in Itunes on computer, it says the files can not be found. My Ipod obviously has all of my music but I'd like to add more (without deleting what I've got on there) and to copy back whats on my Ipod back to my computer. If I plug together and my computer sync then I will loose all music... needing detailed instructions please.

from what i understand, the procecess is similar on both mac and pc, so i'll try help you here. have you set your preferences to "automatically update all"?
    Yes i have.
if this isn't working, maybe try moving one that you are certain is in the correct format, manually. import it from scratch to your itunes, and then copy it to the ipod.
If i click 'import files' the only files it comes up with are text file. Should it be doing this?' So the only files i can import are written documents :/
If i select 'add files' it dosnt add them to my libary at all.
I tryed what you said, i deleted my movies then loaded one into my libary which i no is in the right format but it still said that it is unable to put into my ipod.
Thanks for trying to help by the way :]

how do you put all music in an icon?

You have to sync your music from iTunes (on your computer) to your iPhone.  It will then all be in the Music app/icon.

how do I put my music in the cloud from iphone

You can't upload your own music (e.g. copied from CDs) to the cloud on your phone, you can only do that via your computer's iTunes (and if you've subscribed to iTunes Match).
For iTunes store purchases you can delete it from the Music app (e.g. by swiping/dragging from right-to-left across it in the app), but whether it will then show in the cloud for redownloading depends upon what country that you are in, if it's still in the store, and if you've moved countries since buying it. If you've subscribed to iTunes Match and it's been matched, it should show in the cloud.
