    How to reset?

The only way to remove a restrictions passcode is to save as much of your data as you can (import your photos and videos to your computer, back up your contacts to a supported program or by syncing them with a cloud service like iCloud, sync or email your notes to your computer, etc.), and then restore you phone as new, without using your backup.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the
Back Up option. If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary
              to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore or have forgotten your restrictions passcode, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code or as a New device, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.

  • I wish to reset my ipad.  However, when I selectGeneral Reset Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set).  I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad not reset. How do I get past this?

I wish to reset my ipad (as advised by the Apple Store) to attempt to resolve an issue with a non-responsive part of the screen..  However, when I select General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings, I am prompted for a a Restrictions Passcode (which I have never set).  I have now entered random codes 11 times and the ipad has not reset. How do I get past this?  I am now at the point where I have to wait 60 mins before I can enter another random passcode.  I just want the ipad to clear down, erase everything so I can start again.

The other option is to force iPad into Recovery Mode.

Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

I could swear that I remember being able to do this via iTunes when the phone was plugged in, but that functionality doesnt seem to be there.

  • How do I reset my restrictions passcode on my iPod touch 4G?

I've been scouring this support site for 3 days.  I have attempted many of the suggestions all to no avail.  I need to reset the restrictions passcode on my iPod touch 4G as I have forgotten it.  The back up I have on my iTunes is very recent and therefore to reset and restore will give me the same problem.  Is there any way to reset the passcode if I don't know it?  Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.  If any answers could avoid directing me to other links contained on this site that would be helpful as I've tried all of the solutions listed.  iPod touch 4G iOS 6.1.6

  • Resetting the restrictions passcode

Is there any way to reset the restrictions passcode without resetting the entire device?

You will get the restrictions passcode back if you restore to your backup - as you say that the backup was made when the restrictions code was in place it therefore contains it.
To reset back to factory defaults, connect the iPad to your computer, select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side click the 'Restore' button

  • HT201302 how to reset my restriction pass word

Sync my iphone with my imac

You don't. If you cannot remember your Restrictions passcode, you'll have to restore your phone as a "new" device to remove it. Either that, or: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You start over from scratch.

  • Ipad resetting the restrictions passcode

I need to reset my passcode in Settings/General/Restrictions on my iPad. Is there any way to do that?

    HI King Penguin!
I have a problem with my iPad 2
I have been wanting to switch off my restrictions passcode but I can't do that because I have forgotten the passcode! Now looking at your recent posts to help another person, I can't seem to delete all of my data on my iPad because I have "foolishly" restrict it with the passcode I can't remember. Now is there anyway were I would be able to reset my restrictions passcode in any means possible! All I want is to have my restrictions passcode reset completely, and I don't care if I have delete everything from my iPad in order to accomplish what I want to do!
I have tried to guess but I have guess incorrectly about 19 times and it's really getting on my nerves, especially if I want to download a a game from the App Store which is age restricted but I am the correct age to have that game!
    Please could you help
Thank you for your time, Crypt.....
