HT1349 i had videos on my ipod which i got from itunes i transfered it to my ipad and it only plays the song and not the video what shall i do?
i had vids on my iphone which i transfered on to my ipad the song will play but the vid wont any ideas please let me know thanks
If you use the Music app, all you get is sound. If you use the Videos app, you get sound and video.

I have the same problem!! only thing is that i have the ipod touch 5th generation and a mac. I've been trying to find a way to get all my music to play cuz it will only play on itunes but when i try to play it on my ipod it'll just show a circle with a red square in the middle next to the songs i cant play.

I've tried everything I can think of to get my Iphone 4S to play albums like an Ipod does. All it ever does is play the songs but not the albums in alphabetical order. I used to think I was reasonably intelligent until I butted heads with this phone.
Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

I have a 5th Gen iPod Touch, I downloaded an album and 2 of the songs had music videos. I didn't like it so I deleted it. But it still shows the song and the cloud sign next to it. How can I permanently removed songs/vids? On iOS 7

I have tried to: sync the songs, organize the library and consolidate files, copy and paste songs
Nothing has worked so far.
Also when my ipod comes up in my computer, the songs are not present there.
Any help is much appreciated.This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

I have downloaded a movie which I brought from itunes. It appears in my ipod classic movie menu but it won't play. I try to update and or restore my ipod but I just keep getting a message saying that I need to connect to the internet which I am and am contected to the itunes store. I try to use the itunes self help support thing but keep getting the message that my ipod serial number is incorrect when it is the serial number which is on my ipod. Any ideas?

When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as often as you want, but you can only have it on one device at a time.
If you rented the movie on your iOS device or Apple TV, you can’t move it to any other device.

How do you get passwords to stay valid?? Why do videos from Facebook and mail only play in 1/2 the screen?? I have been forced to Apple by my boss. Before, I had a "dumb" phone (talk, text, pics only) i can't seem to find a users guide that answers my questions. I don't know what category this falls in. Is there an"I-phone For Dummies" book/site?

When listening to songs on my itunes acct (without ipod attached), I can only play one song at a time. It doesn't automatically play next song on list. It happens with all playlists. It only started happening when I downloaded the latest itunes update.
Are all songs checked in your playlist?

My iPod only plays one song at a time
I don't store any music on my iPod - only music videos. They all play fine, and they're stored as properly tagged music video files under Menu->Videos->Music Videos. After I first synced them from my PC, I noticed that they also all appear under Menu->Music as songs. I can play them all just fine, either by selecting one through Menu->Videos (in which case it plays as a video) or by selecting one though Menu->Music, in which case it plays as a regular song with a little picture displayed instead of the video.
So far, so good.
The only problem is, I can only play one song at a time. I navigate through the menu, select either a song or a video, and the iPod will play that just fine, get to the end, and then bring up the menu again.
How can I get it to play the one I select, and then just play other random songs? It makes no difference whether or not 'shuffle' is selected, it still only plays one then stops. Also, putting the songs in a playlist doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any advice gratefully received.Are you sure you don't have Shuffle on? There are a couple of ways to Shuffle on a 5th Gen. iPod. You can't simply choose Shuffle Songs from the Main Menu and shuffle the entire library...or you can go to Settings > Shuffle and choose Songs or Albums and apply that to any playlist you select. The behavior you describe is what happens when Shuffle is turned on and items are set to Skip When Shuffling (an option found on the tracks under Get Info). If Shuffle is on, you should see the little green crossed arrows in the upper right of the iPod window.

I bought an iPod touch 6th generation about a year ago and it was working perfectly until now. On Tuesday, I updated -manually- like six songs to my iPod and it appeared like it worked but when I disconnected it the songs weren't on my iPod. Since then I tried the same twice and it wasn't until today that I looked for the songs on the iPod while it was connected to iTunes. The songs were there, but they appeared as if the iPod was still trying to copy them, I deleted them and copy them again and it finally worked.
The problem was when I unplugged the iPod and open my music there... all my songs were missing except for those six ones I copy minutes before. I connected it back to iTunes and everything was right were it was supposed to be but my iPod still had the most recent songs. When I try to play the songs appearing on the iPod music on iTunes, an exclamation point appears beside them.
I read it is because it can't find where the music came from but I haven't found a way to let the iPod know the songs are still there. I would really appreciate your help because I don't want to lose my music and playlists.The ! means the actual music files can't be found.
If the ! is in iTunes on the computer the redownload/reimport the songs.
If on the iPod:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I have a keynote presentation that includes a significant amount of video. When I edit the keynote slides (not the video slides) how can I save the changes without re-saving the videos (because that takes a VERY long time)? I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.
If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.
