I have recently purchased (from the States) an ipod nano 6th generation. I belong to a local library and can download books from the audiobooks online section. Problem is, my iPod when synced to iTunes, does not show Library as a category and audiobooks. For some reason, it is allowing me to download the books to my iPod, but I am unable to delete them from the iPod, and also, it is giving an echo (I think somehow it is downloading twice which is giving an echo effect). Not sure what is going on, but if anyone can advise me on this I would be very grateful.

If you have an issue with the audiobook showing up in music, check to see if those tracks are labeled as audio books or music. The article below will explained as well as I have highlighted the main portion for changing that information.

Identify an item that you imported from a CD as an audiobook, so it appears under Audiobooks instead of Music (click the Options button and choose Audiobook from the Media Kind pop-up menu). If you do this, iTunes also remembers your place in the audiobook

You asked what I meant about saving the installer on your PC.
When you go to the iTunes download page:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
And click on download, you should be offered the choice of running the installer or saving it. You need to click on save and then choose a folder on you PC where you want it saved. But I think you already did that.
After the installer file - iTunessetup.exe - is save on your computer, you double click on it to run it.
It's very odd that the installer fails at different stages. usually when the installation fails, it is at a specific stage and usually generates an error message.
I am afraid I am mystified. Have you had any other problems with your PC which might suggest a general problem not specific to iTunes?
The only other suggestion I have is to download a fresh copy of the installer - in case it got corrupted. You could also try using "run as administrator" to run the installer. It should be an option if you right click on the installer file.
The other thing it might be worth trying is to install it from another account, but you would need to create another administrator account if you don't a;ready have one. Or if you have another account that is not an admin account, you can temporarily promote it from the control panel>>User accounts.

I found an answer that worked for me. I am using an iMac.
(1) Sign out of the iTunes store
(2) Open a NEW account with a new Apple ID
(3) Go through the sign up process and then go to the ACCOUNT INFORMATION page
(4) Go to RECOMENDATIONS & PING POSTING
(5) Turn on Genius there
Once the Genius updates, you can sign out and then sign in under your original Apple ID or the e-mail address you use for the iTunes store. All my store credit was there and now Genius worked.
Rather odd but I actually like the Genius at times except when it can't deal with some of my lesser known bands that I listen to.
Worked for me.

Clean out the charging port--make sure there's no dust or debris in there. If that fails to solve the issue, bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

In which this just gets weirder and weirder...
I logged onto iCloud.com, signed into my account and created a rule there that emails from my husband's address should be allowed into the inbox. I sent another test msg from him to me and got the New Mail notification sound, the new mail showed up but in a flash disappeared. This happened in the space of about 3 seconds.
Messages from his email address are not even showing up in the Trash folder. WTH?

Another option if you have access to a second Mac with a drive is to connect the two together with the iMac in Target Disk Mode, Transferring files between two computers using FireWire, and installing from the Mac with the optical drive.

Not all movies qualify for download on demand from iTunes in the Cloud, the rights may be reserved by the content provider and can vary by region. What response have you had from iTunes Store support?
If you have still have the computer they were on it might be possible to extract the hard drive, mount it in an external drive bay and recover the content from it.

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. In that same window - the one where you see your backups - click on the box at the bottom that say -Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads form syncing automatically. Then click OK and quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to the computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left side under the devices heading and select - Restore from backup. A window will pop up from which you can select any of the backups that you have for the iPad. Select the backup that you want to restore from and then go agreed and restore the iPad. Sync with iTunes when you are done.
Remember that when you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup to the iPad. You cannot selectively restore content. It is all or none.

I have just purchased a Nikon D7000 and iPhoto downloads jpgs but does not show them. It shows an empty frame. If you double click the frame it will show the image. I have tried importing images from the Nikon provided software and the same thing happens.

Hello, i use a LAN and access the server with its url, when i have to relogin using a different userid, am not able to do so. the session does not end even if i reopen the browser.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).
