I had this same issue after I upgraded. Have iTunes re-scan your library for iTunes Match (Click "Match" along the top row of your library -- Songs Albums Artists... etc.). After it finished re-scanning my library I could download songs again from iTunes Match.

You really should be doing backups with an actual backup application, especially one that will work automatically, and, if your external HD is large enough, back up your entire system. These can automatically back up only what's changed since the previous backup, and some will keep "archive" copies of things you've changed or deleted, also.
Too many things can go wrong, such as your internal HD failing, and you'll have a major project to reinstall everything.
You already have Time Machine, built-in to OSX. You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.

Check the papers that came with your PC or the web site of the vendor. OEM versions are either on the recovery discs they provide or can be downloaded from their site.

Podcast image suddenly disappeared - How can I get it back?

This has happened before, and I just pointed the itunes image attribute in my RSS to a new .jpg file. After an hour or so, iTunes corrected it. I did the same thing this morning when I saw the image had disappeared. It's been several hours now, and it's still not back.
I know this happens from time to time (as I've read on this forum), but this is the second time it's happened to us. We're using Libsyn and channeling that through feedburner. Any way to avoid losing the image in the future?

Your feeds both contain the same link to a good image.

This is a 1,400 x 1,400 pixel image - .jpg (RGB) and <500 kb.
So there is nothing wrong with your image.

The image is showing up there fine.
This looks to be a temp iTunes issue - and this has been seen before and often.
At this point there is nothing you can do - on your feeds - all looks and is good.

How do I recreate the podcast folder on my ipod nit in itunes. I stil have the podcast folder in itunes.

Do you mean you no longer see the option for Podcasts in the menu of the iPod?
If so, go to Settings > Main Menu, scroll to Podcasts and press the center button to turn it back on.

The AirPlay icon will only appear in the Control Center when there is an AirPlay device turned on and connected to the same network as the iPad. If you are positive that the AirPlay device is on and connected Swipe up on your iPad screen to view the Control Center. If the AirPlay icon does not appear try a reset of the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

I had, until today, quite a lot of tabs open in firefox. Now I have none. What the hell happened? How do I get them back? History wont help because some have been open a for some time.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well. 
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and all open tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

My latest import photos are missing from my iphoto library but still on my ipad, how do I get them back into iphotos. I very frustrated because i just imported them from my camera and have not been able to go thru and edit the ones I want. Help please

My issue, which I resolved and may help you was the following:
I have an IPAD 3. I took over 5 GB of pictures on a third party camera. The car was full so I imported those pictures to my IPAD 3 and deleted them from the SD card. While on IOS 5.x, the photos on the IPAD were there under last imported.
Over the last few days, I upgraded to IOS 6. No issues.
Then, my family wanted to see the pictures from the trip. I went to the IPAD and could not find the photos. It listed 40 photos only. The last imported was there, but listed as empty. When I went into the settings>usage, it listed 5GB + of photos in the photos area. I was confused. I plugged my IPAD into ITUNES, first thinking I would get a backup asap (icloud was full after importing the photos). Then I though I would downgrade to IOS 5.
Also, itunes listed that I had 40 photos only, but 5GB of OTHER data. I was convinced the data was not lost. When I tried to browse the IPAD 3 using windows browser, the photos where NOT in the DCIM folder, so I was not able to simply "FIND" the photos and copy them to my PC.
-SOLUTION-
I downloaded third party software onto my PC called "http://www.i-funbox.com/" I fun box. I had no idea if this would work, but other forums with other issues called out similar products for iphone issues.
When I installed the program, which was free, and so far free of malware, I started to explore my IPAD file system.I found my photos, under IPAD>RAW file system>DCIM>100IMPRT.
-ROOT CAUSE-
I suspect when I upgraded to IOS 6, apple fails to register the IMPORT folder of photos as such, photos. So the file system in IOS looses sight of what is inside the last imported folder. Essentially removing them from applications such as "Photos". Why windows does not seem them, is beyond me. But the program I found did see them in raw format, and I was able to COPY them to my PC. Then I deleted them from the IPAD, because I had no other way of managing this folder in IPAD, and it was using a lot of space.

Have you tried power off/on? Hold the sleep/power button until the red slider appears and slide to power off. Wait 10-15 minutes and then hold the button until it powers up again. Often a simple power cycle clears faults.

Just updated my phone to IOS7, and all of my contacts have been wiped. Has anyone else had this problem, and how can I get them back?

I can no longer download any NPR podcasts I subscribe to. I can download and listen to other podcasts but none from NPR. I have tried on Windows 7 and Windows 8. Other podcasts, music etc. download fine.

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling iTunes and I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to the podcasts.
I don't have trouble getting NPR podcasts from the store. I just can't play them in iTunes.

Were the apps downloaded from her ID or yours? If they were from hers, only her ID can be used to update them. If they were from yours, you can change the ID under Settings > Store > Apple ID > Sign Out, then sign in with yours.
